Earlier this week, Google announced the Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505G). Yesterday, we received a HUGE tip in our mailbox. So first of all, Special thanks to this secret tipper. The Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition is exactly the same device as the standard Galaxy S4 at the hardware level. The big difference is of course Google's own Android Interface! Today we proudly present you the first firmware for the Galaxy S4 Google Edition. With this firmware developers could create easy custom roms for the Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505). Our firmware is completely STOCK which means we didn't change anything! This firmware is based on Android 4.3! Google still needs to announce Android 4.3 but we expect this Android version to be unveiled by Google, soon. Android 4.3 is a minor update from Android 4.2.2.
Do NOT flash this firmware on your Galaxy S4!
Our advice is not to flash this firmware on your standard Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505/GT-I9500) as you might brick your device. Please check forums like xda-developers.com first. We tried to flash the firmware on our own Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505), but you simply can't flash your Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) through odin as the bootloader won't let you. This is the reason why we made a CUSTOM ROM for all GT-I9505 users. For now, this firmware is only a gift for developers!
We hope all Galaxy S4 developers are happy with our gift. Enjoy!
REMEMBER DO NOT FLASH YOUR GALAXY S4 (GT-I9505/GT-I9500) WITH THIS FIRMWARE!

What happends when we flash the bootloader?
I'm already running this on my i337, so i9505 users should have no issue........
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340783
This is a different firmware lol.
sammobile now has a ZIP file, ready for flashing with recovery. According to them everything works
Meow
Good luck with GT-I9505G Apple xD
So you can't flash this with Odin or you can? I'm confused after reading the comments.
I really want the vanilla android but I don't want to root the phone.

As long as.you want your device to be bricked. It should be safe can't tell
Good luck with GT-I9505G Apple xD
Theoretically it should be able to flash on an i9505 considering the hardware is identical?
(even the pit file?)

Here is a mirror for the BTU NK4 firmware using a faster host than those supplied on Sammobile or Samsung-Updates.
PDA: N910FXXU1ANK4
CSC: N910FBTU1ANK2
MODEM: N910FXXU1ANK4
CHANGELIST: 3311829
BUILD DATE: 17.11.2014
Download here: BTU-N910FXXU1ANK4
On a side note, I think we could do with a community based repository of stock firmware, If someone downloads a firmware update, they upload it to a faster host and posts the link for everyone else kind of thing, if anyone else thinks the same too, let me know and I'll update this thread with other firmware and change It's title to reflect this.
LOL who cares about the N910F ---> Come on N910W8 !!!
No update on ANK4/5 for it yet
runs quite abit quicker running on ART to my eyes. very smooth.
sent from my galaxy note 4
Got the OTA today. Recent button reacts faster, signal has definitely improved and so has the SOT, at least for me. Usually I get 4 hours, but it looks as though after the update I'll hit 5.

THANK YOU @RavenY2K3 for posting the fast link.
I have the Vodafone GN4 with ANJ4 and my Antutu score is 47577 on a clean install. Using the BTU ANK4 I'm getting 36008 and 44179 with ART. Anyone else getting similar scores? It seems that the Vodafone build is much more optimised and is noticeably faster.
UK Vodafone N910F updated OTA just now to N910FXXU1ANK4

Does anyone know where I can get the full Vodafone ROM for N910FXXU1ANK4? The ANJ4 version on SamMobile is not the UK one. It seems to be the Slovenian CSC version. It is still faster than the ANK4 BTU one so i'm keeping it for the time being.

No worries, I'll use this thread to keep all the latest BTU firmware on a faster host, but if others want to help out, they can do by uploading a file to there respective account and sharing the link.
It'll be a lot easier on everyone if we can download the files from a reliable source and not have to wait 15 hours for the damn things to come down.
I tested German ANK4 and Israel ANK5 but BTU ANK4 is the smoothest one. I am on ART and it seems that SwiftKey barely lags on Hangouts with BTU. Also battery seems the best from the rest of the firmwares.

Thanks.

From which country you are?
I just flashed it through Odin. It works really well. However I run into a Wi-fi problem. My Note4 seems to forget wifi passwords now. It connects to wifi just fine, but as soon as I disconnect and try to connect again I am being asked for password again. Anyone has a clue how to fix this?
