I inadvertently formatted my Sprint HTC One (ver. 1.29.651.6) with TRWP, now the phone is useless. There is no RUU for this version yet, please tell me there is something I can do restore the factory ROM or at least be able to copy my TWRP backup files to the now inaccessible internal storage.
Try sideloading a rom via twrp

Same here, I am usually good at doing these procedures... but last night, after loading the recovery (and followed directions from XDA and youtube video exactly), the internal storage was inaccessible from twrp, even though I saved the superuser zip in the download area, it could not be reached by the twrp file browser. In my desperate attempt to fix this, I followed another members poor advice and ended up essentially wiping the phone....
Now, I can boot into fastboot and twrp.... but it does not get past the white HTC start up screen and is stuck there.
If anyone can share a link to the best method to fix this issues, I appreciate it! Whether sideloading a rom, or restoring factory stock, please help!. Thank you.
The following does not work?
It seems that you have to fastboot oem lock first.

Thank you sir! I will try this and report back on results. As much as I disliked stock and wanted to flash CM10.1 rom... at this point, I guess I will be glad to have things back to stock .... :good:
Good lookin out on that link, that's what I was looking for. Much appreciated.
u could use adb and transfer a rom to the sdcard

Feeling very happy with my phone now that it has been fixed.. much thanks to your advice, I was able to look at the posts and video and recovered my device to re-lock, loaded stock RUU, then went right back to unlocking, installing recovery and rom (CM 10.1). 2nd time around worked as predicted.
It took a few nervous moments, but was well worth the effort now that the phone is essentially a nexus 5 like device for me. I will not miss Sense or blinkfeed at all. Never really used Zoe and camera software features.. Could those be installed separately as an additional camera app besides the standard CM supplied version?

I also wiped everything on my phone and formatted the internal sd card with TWRP. I wanted a fresh start and thought I could just mount the internal sd card thru recovery and transfer my rom.zip off my laptop. Very BIG mistake, as I was unaware that TWRP does not mount/format properly! The above quote by Ms. Pinks was the first method that I tried, but did not work because TWRP rendered my internal memory useless.......phone would no longer recognize it. After several hours of failed attempts I just gave up for the night. In the morning, I did some reading on Clockwork Mod Recovery on other forums and it got alot of positive reviews........mounts/formats/wipes partitions properly! It just does'nt have some of the bells and whistles that TWRP does. I proceeded to flash it thru fastboot using the fastboot flash recovery cwm.image command. Once flashed, I was able to boot into recovery and reformat my internal sd card properly! After that, I used adb to push my rom.zip to the card and flashed away! I have tried all the functions in CWM and it works beautifully! (I love TWRP, but there are to many bugs in it's current state.....for this phone at least) Gonna be using CWM from now on. Hope my experience can help some other user's who screwed up too.
Hello, I recently unlocked my bootloader and flashed a recovery. I flashed a new ROM, TikTak 4.42. After flashing the rom from CWM it started and went to a constant blue screen.
I flashed a new recovery via fastboot and flashed the rom again, it started but when it got to the locale selection and restarted after 2 seconds. This would repeat over and over. I decided to do a wipe, but inadvertantly wiped my storage too.
I pushed another ROM to the device via adb and flashed that via CWM, same problem as the constant rebooting. I tried to flash a RUU from fastboot but got a "Signature Fail" error.
My phone has access to the bootloader and recovery. My storage is empty so I have no roms on my phone. In mounts and storage it always says "mount /system" and "mount /data". Could this be a problem with system?
If you have any questions please ask, I'm quite new to all this so may not have included everything necessary. If anyone can help me fix my phone totally, I could make a small donation thorugh paypal
Thanks in advance

I can't seem to find an RUU for my device, it's hutchinson 3g, uk, which has the 3 digits 771. I can't find that in any of the listed RUU's

Thank you for helping! I think I may have worded my last reply badly. My recovery works, I'm currently on twrp, and I can flash a rom. When i flash the rom, I reboot the system, goes through boot screen etc, gets to choose locale i.e UK, USA, its the normal android start up, then it just crashes and reboots

I have visix and safestrap 3.75 installed on my att gs5. I wanted to switch to another rom so I booted safestrap, factory reset and tried flashing another rom. I received a failed status with an error mounting /system and /systemorig message. I rebooted ss and received the same errors. I robot system and what do you know, instead of a bootloop, I got visix starting up like a fresh install. I know this has to do with the inability to access /system. If any of you guys can help me out it would be highly appreciated. BTW visix team your rom is awesome, so I don't mind being stuck on it until I can get it resolved. thanks a bunch you guys

Try rerooting. It might help. Also you want to full wipe the system, data, cache, and davilk, just to be on the safe side. Everything but external card.

When I first did it I did do advance wipe with everything except SD card selected. I did the towelroot again but no avail. Would I have to fully stock it through download? Man or should I try the Ota update?
Do not update if you have the chance. I would restore in Odin if you don't have the chance to try the re root.

When you say rerooting do you simply mean rerunning towelroot? Or is there another method I can try? I currently am rooted still Idk if that matters. Thanks for the help rbedell.
After installing different roms you can lose root. Just run the towel root again, reboot OS, reinstall Safestrap. Might not be your problem though. If not Odin the AP file of your current android version.

I had the same problem yesterday with Dynamin Cat. At first I downloaded it with my comp and transferred it to my SD card and I would get the " failed " sign when flashing it. Either it was a corupt download or got messed up when transferring it to my SD card. Either way I re downloaded it with my phone and saved it directly to my sd card and it worked fine that way.

OK. So I soft bricked my phone earlier, and just restored by flashing the RUU. Now that I'm trying to root back, I'm noticing that my file system is totally different from what it used to be. TWRP actually says no OS is installed, but the stock version of 4.4.2 is most certainly there and boots just fine. How can I rectify this?
UPDATED: There was actually no problem with the file system. It appears I likely had a bad download of TWRP so it wasn't recognizing the mount points.

What version of TWRP do you have installed? 2.7.1.1 wipes OS version from bootloader, but that doesn't affect anything. If you want OS to be shown flash TWRP 2.6.3.3. It's the most stable recovery and you won't have problems flashing ROMs with it. On the other hand, if your phone works fine, leave it as it is

It was actually tdhite's 2.7.1.3 that I flashed that really screwed up my phone.
I was using 2.7.1.1 fine before. I flashed back to 2.7.1.1 after getting my phone working again with the RUU. I have a full backup of my rooted phone saved to my computer and would love to be able to restore it back through TWRP. But the actual filing system in ES File Explorer looks different.
In TWRP, I can't even get to SuperSU to become root because of the way the file system is so different.
When I was soft bricked, I may have played around in the Mount function of TWRP and screwed it up that way.

I wanted to add, the only partition showing as mounted in TWRP is the Data. Can't mount cache or system. Going to restore shows my internal storage at 37 MB. Going to file manager shows I am in the folder "/." In this folder are a boot, cache, data, deve, etc, license, proc, recovery, res, root, sbin, sdcard, supersu, sys, system, tmp, usb-otg, default.prop, file_contexts, fstab.goldfish, fstab.qcom, init, init.rc, init.recovery.qcom.rc, property_contexts, seapp_contexts, sepolicy, ueventd.goldfish.rc, ueventd.rc. Most of these have nothing in them. SuperSu does have a Superuser.apk inside, but its not the SuperSu file I downloaded from Chainfire's page, and with only Data being mounted I'm afraid to flash the default one.
The other funny thing is that when I go to reboot system in TWRP, it says that no OS is installed, but like I said, the stock system boots just fine. I believe everything on my phone is installed to Data.

Yes. It's the Sprint HTC One m7. This is the most bizarre problem I have come across. And I was successfully rooted (SuperSU) with TWRP 2.7.1.1 installed prior to installing TDHITE's 2.7.1.3, which really seemed to mess things up for some reason. I used liquidsmooth custom rom, but ended up going back to the stock ROM and using Xposed framework because I do like a lot of the stock features, but I loved being able to tweak them with Xposed. Now I'm stuck on stock with a weird looking file system.

Is this possibly just a problem with TWRP? I actually notice in ES File Explorer that things arent' too different after all. I've got a / (Device) folder and a "0" folder which is my internal storage. It's just stuff isn't showing right in TWRP I guess, and TWRP seems to only be mounting my data partition.

I followed the steps in Neo's thread about repartitioning and ended up in sh** where I can not see sdcard0 (internal memory) and phone says there is no micro sd card inserted even though it is.
I tried with terminal commands to fix storage permissions, but it doesn't allow me anything as it says files are read only.
I flashed the uninstaller as well which says it should help and did not help.
Any other ideas? :/

Thank you very much for answer, almost gave up on the phone pretty much.
Twrp is 2.8.xxx something (one supplied with Neo's rom), I tried with 3.0 did not help. Tried with Clockworkmod didnt help either.
I will search for AdrianDC TWRP and give it a go.
Cm13 I tried but did not want to apply the storage change because it could not find "system" partition, (almost bricked it I guess) but I managed to fix that with stock rom, and could later reflash cm 12.1
But I will try flashing CM13 again, and come back with info in case you will be able to give some input again!
Thanks for now!

Cheers for links, Tried with CM13, no success like before getting error when flashing the zip:
"sdcard could not be mounted (ext4/exfat ?) please verify your partition file system
You are agreeing to format your SDCard
UserData partition still contains files"
so doesnt let me flash 13.
And to repair the partitions I guess I just try the TWRP and under advance the repair option right?
Terribly sorry to bother so much, but I like the phone, and would love to fix it again!

Done and done, but I basically ended up on the same spot where it said unable to mount /system + previous error about sdcard
and now can not flash anything anymore (so have to flash official rom again to start up my phone)
Maybe im doing something wrong with flashing, but i doubt it. (flashtool64 is which im using) fastboot, and under the option of select kernel to flash.
then rest is done in recovery anyway with installing, right?
At the moment I am installing official rom, so I can start over with flashing twrp, rebooting, then flashing cm13
One thing I learned to always backup working system before doing anything!

I'm sorry to hear that.
Once stock rom is on it, try to flash neos kernel and then boot into recovery. In there flash Adriandc's twrp (the zip file).
After that reboot and try to flash cm13. If this still doesn't work you could try Adriandc's files for repartitioning. He did some awesome work.
I'm on my phone right now so I'll keep it short, if you need further assistance I'll try to help you as soon as i get to my PC

Thanks!
Tried exactly like that, same error when trying to flash cm13 :"Updater process ended with ERROR:7
Error installing zip file ".zip"
I guess I ruined something really bad when trying to repartion following neo's guide, (twrp says about partitions this:
- Internal storage: (1812mb)
- Legacy SDCard (0mb)
- Micro SDCard (7488mb)
-USB OTG (0mb)
If you have any more suggestions I can try, otherwise we can give up! feels like nothing would work, though much love for taking your time trying to help me! <3

It doesn't look that bad at all. Which version of TWRP is currently on your phone? (also the build date)
It looks like basketbuild is down right now, but once it's back up again you could try this zip:
https://basketbuild.com/devs/AdrianDC/CyanogenMod/XperiaBlue
it will repartition your phone to it's original partition table

Oh that sounds exactly what I would need yea!
At the moment I reflashed cm12.1 (neo's) which installs 2.8.6.x twrp. Build date was january i think. (phone is booting up still)
I will try this zip as soon as basketbuild is up and will let you know what happens. (I guess i just reboot into twrp and flash the zip)?

Yeah, boot into TWRP, flash a new TWRP (I think it was 20th july or newer), then reboot straight into recovery again and flash the restore_sd zip
My phone booted up now with the 12.1, and there is internal memory back, 11gb out of 11gb free, accessable, and everything.. No idea what caused it to appear again but something what you said basically helped me and restored it back to original.
So thank you a lot! I kinda want to try and repartition it again to have more space for apps, but im afraid ill just blow it again.
You think I should try installing cm13 now as storage looks normal again?

I'm really glad you managed to restore it! Mint is still a great device.
Yeah, but CM13 will repartition your phone again (automatically). It will warn you once that all data will be lost, on second attempt it will flash just fine.
Good luck
