ya that can happen but still it can increase the pressure on them to release it even faster and sending an email is no big task.u can send to the executives and also to ceo's office as given in the link. :good:
I have given up on them! really first the prices went down for s5 and now there is no lollipop.
Samsung advertise s5 as having snapdragon but they surreptitiously palmed off the inferior exynos to some market. Earlier also they did the same with their s2. Even Cyanogen mod is not available for their 900H model. This is the last time I ever buy any samsung product. i think they lack even the basic business ethics
We are still waiting...waiting. ...
No Samsung Exynos anymore

keep waiting, but if Samsung don't respect their own processor than why we bother to buy their powered exynos product
waiting is what we do and we have learned from their response
good news : lollipop for s5 exynos (g900h) released see kazakistan on samfirmware :good: :highfive:

Dear All,
Less than 24 hours now, i join this network and i have read quite a number of posts. I bought myself this Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE (SHV-E120L) and to my utmost surprise, I cannot send sms. When sms comes it, it displayed the sms but with sender ID hidden. I cannot send and not reply. I thought of returning the Korean phone, but i was told that it was perhaps one of the best phones around. Encouraged by the reviews online, I have decided to keep the phone and take the other option, which brings me in here. I want to learn how to root the phone and get this Korean model to perform the task it is meant for both by the manufaturer and myself.
As experts, kindly direct me. It is important to note that prior to this phone, I had this ZTE Blade by San Francisco, which i successfully rooted to Gingerbread 2.3.6. With this experience, i think if adequatetly tutored, i can easily find my way through.
I sincerely thank you ahead of your response, first for the time, the opportunity for joining here and the response. Thank you.

Here is the mail I sent to LG-Singapore for ICS :
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Received Date : 12/08/2012 12:59 52
The type of inquiry : Software/Hardware updates
Product/Model No. : GSM/LGP970
I had a good life before buying your p970 aka Optimus Black. Now I am feeling cheated by a global company (of course LG) who is not on keeping there its promises for software update. You guys have no idea about your customers who bought your product hoping upgrade like other global companies. In other clear words, issues are :
a.) ICS upgrade
b.) Lack of information from your side
c.) Ignoring customers mails about same.
I cant understand that what will be the problem with a brand like LG for ICS update for its flagship mobile when other companies are moving to jelly-bean, you guys are not even saying a single word for ICS yet. If you have not such qualified developers then release drivers for public so they can develop a rom their own, as they are tied with drivers limitation.
Seriously, if you cant upgrade your mobile then release all the drivers to public (e.g xda developers). They will sure develop one ICS for p970.
Is it wot you call "LIFE IS GOOD"? SURE NOT!
Thank you.

The reason is because they dont really want 'their' Android to be open source. If they are good in services. We should have.drivers by now.

It looks like a default no-reply answer.
If indeed they wrote that, it means they didn't read your email.
It's a shame for a nice phone to not be supported anymore, as i've seen, even g1 can have a working jelly bean on it so it's not about the ics not working properly on p970 specs, but lg refuses to support the customers..
Sent from my LG-P970 using Tapatalk 2
LG is cheap, they will slowly start to release ICS on only newer phones so they can make money. If they released drivers or ICS to this phone, they wouldn't make money....they know it's possible, they just refuse to, then they get people to buy new phones that have the next O/S. The entire Optimus line was promised gingerbread. I know the Optimus S got it, but the optimus V (an exact identical phone that uses the same motherboard) did not. Why? Because of money. Virgin Mobile discontinued the phone with new phones that come with GB. So VM and LG get money because of people who only run stock and want to go from froyo to GB. LG makes stuff as cheap as they can, that's why drivers (for PC) are outdated, or firmware is borked. LG does not care about customer support. Now the phone carriers may replace the phone, that's the only customer support you'll get.

Usually you should get link in body of email to rate the replay. So click it and rate it badly. Probably some lazy employee didnt even read your message. If you rate it badly he will probably dont get bonus or he will get fired. So win-win for us.
People stop crying like this! the original request to lg assistance is totally wrong. You cannot say that lg "doesn't respect their promises" because our optimus black is meant to be upgraded to ics at least at the end of september, so until that moment your complaints against them is nosense.
You could said it if you have an optimus 2x, so, read carefully the news and comunicates before spamming!

Looks you have not read well LG Canada's statement about upgrade for OB. They said the earlier statement was just a general statement and not promise. And they are not upgrading OB to ICS.
Hi all,
LG Canada said that LG Optimus Black wont get ICS update. That was LG Canada! They have different methods there.
LG didn't say there wont release ICS to OB, so don't speculate that. I see many speculations here...
"LG never will release ICS", "LG wont update to ICS", etc... Are you working in LG to say that? I'm not saying that LG will release ICS, but I didn't see anywhere that LG will NOT release ICS.
Just wait and see... Speculations wont get us anywhere. A petition is different. But like I said, LG never said that they WONT release ICS.

And also - when OB was released, it was said that it will get OS upgrade to GB. Everyone got GB and that should be it. So, LG has done everything they promised. The first statement about ICS upgrades was released so fast, that they even hadn`t no idea if the mentioned phones are capable of running smooth ICS. So i understand why LG are not releasing ICS upgrade.
And its part of TI fault that LG is taking so long.
P.S.
I`m to an OB user and I`m to not so happy about LG - not about not releasing the ICS upgrade, but I`m mad that there is no info from LG on the progress. Sony has updated almoust all of their Xperia line. LG should learn from them.
Any other phone model from LG already get the ICS?
[]'s
And it is not only about ICS, but its about support and information from a global brand. They should be more supportive and informative toward to their customers. There is key benefit for them being responsible.

There is an ICS discussion thread, this all belongs in there.
Sometimes the answer to this question is obvious. Verizon blocking google wallet was clearly so they could force people to use their own wallet app, whatever the hell it was. What I want to know is why on my AT&T Note 5 I don't have Auto Restart or Smart Manager. Both very useful features I would love to have, blocked by my carrier. How do either of these features effect AT&T? I'm sure there is plenty more blocked that I just don't know about.
Does anyone have any insight as to a logical reason a service provider would want to block stuff like this?
Here is a link to the video where I discovered these missing features:

Alain: Hi, thank you for contacting Samsung Technical Support. How may I help you today?
Mike: I would like to log a complaint about the Samsung Note 5 I purchased today from AT&T
Alain: Hello Mike!
Alain: I'd appreciate it if you could give me a detailed description of the problem to assist you better.
Mike: I bought this phone based on many features I read about online, my phone doesn't have these features. They are either disabled or not present.
Mike: The Smart Manager app used to manage RAM and apps on the phone is not on my Note 5.
Mike: There is no "Auto Restart" option under Backup and Reset menu.
Mike: I don't know why these options are missing, and I'm doubtful anyone can turn them on for me. But I just wanted to register my complaint that I'm pretty disappointed.
Alain: Just to confirm, where did you find that these features are available on the device?
Mike: When I type Samsung Smart Manager into Google, all the results are just other people complaining that this feature is missing as well.
Mike: Some guy on YouTube made a video of his Note 5 showing different features.
Alain: Thank you for the information.
Alain: I would like to inform you that the Smart Manager feature is available in T-Mobile Note 5 device.
Mike: I understand, I just want to complain that I find that disappointing and unfair.
Alain: Samsung only manufacture the devices and the devices are manufactured as per the Carrier requirements.
Alain: I can certainly understand your concern.

Still nowt for the Tab S.

Flagship means nothing to Samsung.
Maybe I'm just in denial (feels like it to be honest), but I refuse to accept (for now at least) that we won't be getting MM. I must remain hopeful...:crying:
So does Samsung seem to release updates to the newest phone/tablets first and then work backwards with the oldest being last if at all.
John.
We will get it soon

I have a Note 4 and the Tab S and I tell you these will be my last Samsung devices! No updates on supposed flagship devices is abysmal! Next phone will be a Nexus and probable their tablet too.
i recall seeing a chart somewhere, was that just bogus ?
There were a couple of unofficial photo/lists the first had the Tab S1 8.4" getting MM from April, the second photo showed NO Tab S1 models at getting updated to MM, these are now very old and should not be relied on.
I think the Tab S1 will get updated to MM in the next couple of months.

Dear [removed],
Thank you for contacting Samsung. With reference to your E-mail, I understand that you would like to know whether Samsung will release the Android Marshmallow update for your Tab S (model: SM-T700NTSAXAR). I can imagine how bothering and inconvenienced this would have been. Currently, there is no new update: Marshmallow available for your tablet model. We at technical support are not able to speculate the estimated time period of the update release and exact version of the update as it may lead to incorrect estimation of the update release information, also there is no official word available to state about the update availability . However, once any new update is released, it will be notified on the tablet in Apps > Settings > About device > Software Update. You can also check for the new Software update notification information on Samsung website under News section. I hope you understand. Please refer to the link below to access Samsung News website:
http://www.samsung.com/us/news/
The update time will be varied from model to model and location to location. I understand how important the update is for you. Usually, the updates will be released in batches. Once the new update is released for the batch to which your tablet belongs, then your tablet will also receive the update notification.
Also, I see that there is no test or app available from Samsung to test or run the battery function. I hope you understand.
If you have any questions, please get back to us. We will be glad to assist you.
