[Q] Note 4 CM 12 Root - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
My Note 4 was previously rooted through Chainfire but when I flashed Cyanogenmod (CM) 12 I lost my root. I tried to root chainfire using Odin but not successful. Can anyone tell me how to get my root back on my Note 4 using CM 12. I really love CM 12 and do not want to go back to stock rom.

Did you clear cache, Dalvik cache, and data in the team win recovery before you flashed cm?

I had it Developer option turned on but just clearing the cache, delvik and data before flashing the rom solvedd the problem as mentioned by Karakoram2. Thanks for the reply.

Upgrading from 7.1 to 7.2 - Must I wipe?

Since this is the same ROM am I required to wipe/partition or would I be successful by only wiping the dalvik cache and flashing it right over it?

The same method worked me 3 times, whenever I tried..next time I tried just wiping cache & dalvik, which also worked..but both of these may not work all the time I guess..
Yeah, thats why I'll try Alliance rom based on 4.0.4. Back in galaxy S days I was a fan od darkyrom, alliance is darky old crew. So I'll just give them a try.^^
And with your method of wiping - does it wipe any data? Like settings, sms memory or apps?

Wiping dalvik and cache will not erase the data

Cyanogenmod 10.1.2

Hi all, i have a very booring bug, when i install this rom, and i don't flash other kernel everything is fine.
But when i install a different kernel i cant go to system settings-> security cause i get FC of app.
Why this?
EDIT2: and if i flash thse gapps (gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip) i get FC of the keyboard and i can't use status bar settings.
Did you wipe cache and dalvik before flashing the kernel ?

Do you mount system before flashing?
No but it doesn't matter right?
Because the flashing process do it automatically, otherwise the ROM shouldn't work.
Try fixing permissions in recovery or ROM manager app

Wont Flash

I rooted my Galaxy Tab and am running Galaxy Cubed on it. I want to install a new ROM, CM10.1/ CM9.1. Every time I've tried to install it, it says installation aborted. Before I flash it I wipe all the data, cache, and dalvik cache. I can't figure out what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott
are you soure? your tab is rooted?

Are you using TWRP?
First cm 7 using the right cwm. Then go to cm 9. the reason is cm 9 has a different memory (?) format. This is what i had to do.

From dalvik to art

Hi everybody.
Did anybody try to change from dalvik to art?
In developer settings you can do it, but for me it doesn't work. After the reboot everything stays as before, on dalvik.
Perhaps it's because of the custom recovery, but I don't know.
Please enlighten me if you know how it works or if it can work.

OK i have tried with stock recovery and factory reset and it reverts to Dalvik so im guessing its not supported by our HTC system. When they release the L update im sure it will work. Mind you if you use Xposed like i do you need to wait for it to be updated too.
