Chrome and disappeared Favorities - Off-topic

hello,
today i opened my Chrome browser from my Mac laptop and, with big surprise, no more favorities. Just the empty folders.
I logged out, re logged in, unistall and reinstall chrome but the result is always the same. No more Favorities links.
I have removed chrome and all its files just to try . 0 ideas.
Anybody can help me please?
Many thank you

What do you mean? For chrome, there is no favourites because its called bookmark.

Try using Xmarks to save your bookmarks and also try this.

Google virus?!

I have a slight problem which I can't fix. Whenever I open dolphin browser hd the Google homepage opens up even though I have the homepage set as new tab. Also Google will randomly open on a new tab while I am browsing on another tab. I tried changing all various settings and it didn't fix it. I even tried downloading Firefox and that worked fine until when I closed and then opened it again it came up with the Google homepage!
I have no idea what the problem could be. I need help please!

[Q] xperia z chrome bookmarks

Hi guys,
Sorry couldn't find anything on here to do with this, I have a stock Z on virgin network, using Chrome, love it, always have, just on mine in the bookmarks section there is a folder of bookmarks titled Sony, can't find a way to delete it, most of the time the browser defaults to this folder when opening the browser, I know it's q silly little thing but it's very annoying.
Any help much appreciated
Hey!
Easy to fix
In Settings > Apps you can find two apps whose package name starts with com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks. Disable those two and the bookmarks will be gone from Chrome!

I'm all for using Chrome preinstalled rather then say AOSP browser or so, but my god, I don't need to get Sony rammed down my throat

Chrome delete history hangs

Hi guys,
During the past few days i've noticed that when i go to delete my chrome history, the browser hangs during "deleting browser history" window (the last window, with a rotating blue circle). It just keeps goin on forever. If i close down the app, and then reopen chrome, history is still there.
I have tried the following: Settings > Apps > Chrome > Force stop and then 1) clear cache, 2)Manage storage > Clear all data
Then i reopen chrome and log in etc., and most history is gone (only google stuff remains). If i clear history imediately it works ok, but as soon as i have visited a few sites, and try clearing history it starts all over again.
I can clear items in history one by one, by clicking on the x.
Any suggestions?
Check if chrome has the storage permission.

Thanks/Merci titi66200 :good: :good:
It seems to have solved the problem.
Now the question is why it was changed in the first place? I certainly did not change it.

Edit: I was too quick. The problem is back.
Mine wasn't activated by default either.
The only solution I found for apparently solve this problem is to uninstall and reinstall chrome.
Just an update: The last Chrome update that came this morning (74.0.3729.157) seems to have resolved the issue.

Eh, I have uninstalled (or hidden, don't really know) quite some apps using this method:
Forumpost on XDA about unbloating without root
(XDA) Uninstall bloat without root
However, I encounter a small issue now. I also uninstalled this Browser from Vivo. Mainly because of the overkill of chinese in it, as well as that I (obviously) didn't use it, and I couldn't really avoid it. (switching the default browser to Chrome seemed to work, but whenever you leave that setting-screen and come back to it, this Vivo Browser is back in place. Uninstalling using the above helped, but now I encounter another issue. This Browser also was malfunctioning with certain radiobuttons on websites, which also made me not use it for login on certain public wifi's where I am regularly. However, without the Browser, I can't seem to let Chrome open in order to guide me to the Wifi login screen at all. Sometimes, on some wifi's, the redirect works (so I just open google.com in Chrome, and I get redirected to the login page straight away), but on some wifi's that is not happening. When in the Wifi-setting-screen I tap on "Tap here to authenticate", nothing happens....Anyone an idea?

Did you log into a vivo account so now you have access to change out the launcher?

You should be able to do the same with the browser as you did with the launcher, set the browser as default.

True, I found the setting. However, whenever I leave that settings window (after setting the default browser to Chrome), and come back to it later, I see that it has swapped back to the Vivo browser. And for stuff like publicwifilogin I still got this vivo browser (and that caused some issues since it has issues with certain radiobuttons)...

Chrome crashing when I select share...?

Hi, not sure if I've debloated something that Chrome needs but browsing is fine, but when I try share a webpage Chrome crashes everytime any site if I try share... any ideas? thanks
If I install a different browser the share option works fine, but not in Chrome, seems there is some dependency app or something that chrome needs to link with the sharing function...? dunno. Unless there is just a bug in Chrome?
Needs Huawei Share...
Thanks yes it was the 2 Huawei share apps.

Have you tried Samsung internet browser? I have to say it's stellar, dark mode throughout, ad blocking, rapid with no overheads.
Truly the best browser I've ever used on Android
No bookmarks sync so that's the downside.
Chrome can still be used but the comparison is night and day.
The data harvesting that Chrome takes is truly horrific. They want everything.
Google have gone too far.
Ps: in regards to sharing, if you're using an ad blocker then that can cause havoc.
Turn it off and retry.
Or go incognito and retry. Incognito will mimic a perfectly blame browser.
Was my own fault, had deleted the Huawei share all which is needed to share, so reinstalled using adb and all sorted out, thanks.
