Hi,
The google app is using the most battery on my phone... why is this??
Sometimes it does it to me also. Usually it's because something makes it use gps for hours. See if your gps is used when you tap the battery graph.
Rebooting usually fixes it for me.
So I just disabled the Google App nd the drain has stopped...
Shouldn't have had to disable it tho...but I don't know why it was draining so bad

Same problem here. I don't know what's causing it but it makes the phone hot and drains battery.
Google App!!!
how did you disable the google app? what exactly was disabled? location? Google Now? Google Plus?
I'm seeing the same thing. I unplugged my fully charged phone and went to bed (i.e. idle). Checked the phone in the morning and had burned through 33% of my battery in just under 11 hours with "google App" accounting for 83% of the battery usage.

Before i go to sleep everyday, i plug my phone to the charger. When i woke up on saturday, the charger wasn't plugged and the battery was only 80%. I checked in the battery stats and there was google search draining the battery, running for about two hours. Wi-fi, gps and mobile off. I thought it was something related to the update on the touchless control, where you can search on google now without typing the pin. I disabled that option. Yesterday, i fully charged my phone before i get to sleep, and locked it on my closet. Today, i looked at it and there was only 20% left. Again, google search was running for almost 9 hours. Again, wi-fi, gps and mobile off. Anybody know why this is happening?

I did notice on my nexus 7 the other day Google Search on a different user sucked up about 50% of the battery in 12 hours, even after it was sitting around for a full day.

Have tried wiping app cache and data?

Installed Play services 5 when it came out and that help substantially. Now I have Google Services eating 91% of my battery. Seems to get worse the lower my battery goes the faster it goes.
CPU Total 5h 1 min
Keep awake 4h 44m
Roughly 150KB of data used.
Battery at 67%. Abnormally little use today. My best so far has been 15h up time at 70% battery.
Includes:
Google contacts sync
Services Framework
Backup Transport
Account Manager
Play Services
Unchecked everything in the google account sync options. Shall see if it helps.
Any suggestions on this?
Turn off your location settings.
Sucks if you use your GPS or google now a lot, but it seems to be the only way to keep your battery at an acceptable level.

Never use my location for more than checking the weather. Ill give it a go.
Hey everybody, I just downloaded beanstalk rom a few days ago and it is awesome, the only problem I have os Google Services draining 10~20% of my battery, i tried everything on this forum also the GServicesfix app on the market, turned off the location and the sync, no difference. But I guess the problem is not only with Google Services as my battery drains pretty much fast I have to charge mu phone twice a day, Googe Services do drain battery but it is not the only reason, however, it is the only thing with abnormal battery use in power options. ps: I didn't have the google services problem at stock rom but the battery also drained fast.
Any help???? I have 2 problems, Google Services abnormal battery usage and battery drainage disregarding the google services consumption.

Example for battery drainage:
The battery drains about 20% while I sleep at night with absolutely nothing running except WiFi. 20% in about 8 hours.

Go to settings > accounts & sync and uncheck background data and sync options. There you go!!!

Mine is at 9%.
how did you pull that off?!
first battery cycle with m, it was high, and my phone never slept. second battery cycle, and it only reached 1% battery drain, and I had 4+ hours sot at 61% battery. btw, I'm using the permissions option, and am not allowing location for any of my apps that dont need it. also, I disabled background data for google play services.
I have not rooted my phone, running 5.1.1.
My phone is draining like 10-15% per hour with very minimal screen on time or idle. more than that when I'm using my phone. Last time I checked, using Gsam, I was 4 hours off charger, an hour 30 of screen on time (most all of that was twitter and and using groupme) and i was at 34% battery. according to Gsam: screen used 29%, wifi used 30%, and app usage was at 33%. of all my apps, android system and kernel were the only ones above like 5%, so no rogue app according to gsam. That whole 4 hours I have been at my house with a stable wifi and cell signal.
I will get a screen shot if needed. But how can I figure out what is causing the huge wifi drain? "turning off wifi" is not a valid fix either. wifi should not use more battery than the screen and basically the same as all my apps.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Mine is acting pretty similarly. Usually I cannot break 2 hours of SOT in around 6 hours of being off a charger - pretty bad. I hear the Facebook app causes quite a bit of drain, so I'll first be getting rid of that to see what happens. If that doesn't work, I'll probably go the route of a factory reset. Maybe these might work for you too?
I'd also check and see what your location settings might be. High accuracy seems to be a killer. Same goes for HD voice or whatever it is for calls, which can be turned off in the settings.
Good luck!
I have hd voice disabled, i just disabled facebook (since its factory installed and they wont let you uninstall it, i hate that). i also turned off google fit, i'll see if that helps.
did anything help?
