Removing "Outlook email" from messaging

is it possible to just remove the entry for "Outlook email" from showing up in the drop down list in the messaging screen?
I have
GMail
Outlook E-mail
Text/Multimedia
Tigermail
but I would like Outlook to not even show up on that list? Is there anywhere in the registry it can be removed? I don't want to uninstall it, just make it not appear in that menu.

yes you can do that... all you need to do is go into your active sync and go to sync options and uncheck all the section that have email.

That didn't work. I still have Outlook in the menu

btw not sure about anyone else but I've never seen the folder screen like that before with the messages showing in the background.

Looks the same as the screen shot on my Wing.

If you actually use Outlook, it probably won't clear until you remove evrything in it. Just a hunch, I have no factual data for my guess. I was able to remove from ActiveSync, but I never used it.

When I am in messaging there is a drop down option which has all the different accounts. I was a little thrown off by the picture at first too.

there is nothing in Outlook. I've never used it, never touched it... nothing in there at all.

I was able to get the Outlook account to disappear from my Messaging account list by renaming the registry key :
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\ActiveSync
to
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\ActiveSyncx

by doing this, you will lose the capability to hear a sound when you receive a text message.

Yes, I also lost the notification sounds. A less than ideal situation.

Doing this didn't remove "outlook" from my messaging ... it only literally renamed it in the folder list ... so know it just shows up in the list as whatever new name it was renamed to

Anyone have any new info on this by any chance?

If there is a way to do it i would like to know as well, i never use outlook and it takes up unnecessery space...

yeah, I think it's annoying as hell in the messaging list.
it would be nice if we could figure out how to make it simply just not show up. There has to be some really simple way to suppress it.

Bringing this back up to see if there is a solution yet.

When First syncing my phone I had the email checked to sync and Outlook showed up. I had to clear storage on my phone and when I set up the new partnership, making sure email wasnt checked, Outlook is no longer in my options. I dont know if this is ideal for you for the risk of resetting to the defaults, but thats the only way I know to get rid of it.

I never have email checked when syncing after a flash, but the option access the outlook is still there

Is it just after syncing or when you first set up the sync partnership? Because as you are setting up the partnership, if it is checked, it wont go away later (ie unchecking during a sync).

G1 locked... Need help

My boss has a G1 that is locked. He let his younger brother play with it for a while and locked it. He inputted the incorrect pattern lock several times.
Now the phone is asking for a gmail username and password. He says he does not remember his gmail username and password. i know i know...
Anyway, he needs his contacts in the phone. He is willing to pay for service or software just to get the contacts out from the phone. His phone is issued by T-Mobile and has never been flashed.
Can anybody help me with this? I tried accessing the phone with the ADSK, but I believe that the debugging option in the phone is disabled by default and I cant get through it.
Any ideas would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks.

He should just use the password recovery option that google provides on their website. He should at least remember the email address he signed up with. I'm sure he can at least think of a few possibilities. After that screen there are instructions on how to recover your password.

After you get the password, go to Gmail
Click on "Contacts" tab, and he will see anything he wants.

lol your boss shouldve use the same email username as his primary email.. i.e. i use [email protected] and [email protected]
or shouldve used his name as his gmail username.
idk how u can recover his contacts..but i know how to unlock his phone...you would have to hard reset it..
If your T-Mobile G1 Google smartphone is not responding or is frozen, you may have to opt for a hard reset. Here’s how:
1. Turn the G1 off. If it’s frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit.
2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle.
Now to wipe the device clean:
3. Press Alt+L.
4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset.
5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds.
The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete.
and his contacts should already be synced up to his gmail account.

his contacts being synced with his gmail account dosnt help if he dosnt know the password. but if he does know the password he can view them in his gmail account and dosnt need the phone at all. so resetting the phone wont get him any closer to his contacts.

resetting phone will at least unlock his phone and if the boss's sim card came froma previous phone there is a possibility of his old contacts being saved in the sim card.
if he listed a secondary email account during sign up then he can access he username and password recovery
if there is no secondary email account then the only option is to track down people he sent emails to. preferably friends and coworkers and try to find out his username like that.

i call shenanegans i have met a LOT of really freaking stupid people and even a few mentally retarded and not one of them has EVER forgotten their email address, some may have forgotten their passwords a few times but you don't usually forget your email. another thing, most people who are dumb enough to not remember something important like email/password are the people that use the same password for everything. search the forums and the webs, i know someone found a way past the screen unlock code thing

i use the 2 passwords for everything =) 1st one is jsut all numbers that i use most things.. and the 2nd one has 2 letters and some numbers for those that require letters in the password =) like gmail

[Q] Push email dose it exist?

Just got my phone and im having problems setting up my mail..
Orange tell me the phone dose not support push email..
LG tells me that it dose..
can some one please shed some light on this matter? and help me set it up, if it does actually have push.

I have the Yahoo app a and it does push email. I receive just about instantly my emails.
Just look about specific app for your email.

I just cannot seem to get it to work at all...i have a Hotmail account and Gmail, so im not fussed. i just would like push email on my phone.

Open the Stock LG Email Client.
If you haven't configured any email accounts yet, it will prompt you to add one. Otherwise click menu and goto accounts to add one.

Click OK on the prompt.
For Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail etc select Other.
Type your email address, password and make sure to select "Enable Push" radio box!
Click Next.
Click Next on the pop-up message.
Type desired account name and your name. Click Done.
And you have successfully configured your Push enabled email service on your LG OB.

everything comes up as you have shown apart from the "Enable Push" radio box! I can however go into settings and check 'auto retrieve'(except push email). I Have checked the box and still no push?

Sounds like something is wrong with your phone settings. Update it , make backup.
Reset to factory default and try again.
I am on Orange btw so don't think is some Orange restriction.

just done an update on it but it says it has the latest version. just done a reset on it and still no luck. starting to drive me mad.

been on the phone and into the orange shop, now they are saying Orange dose not support push email on the LGOB-p970 only with blackberry and iphone!!!

[Q] Can't add an additional Google account

Hi folks,
I'm having trouble with my google account, associated with the market...
I can't seem to add a additional google acc.
I deleted my google account while using the computer because I had too many google accounts associated with other accounts
from different sites.. anyway, I didn't realise that the google acc. that I deleted was linked to my market on the phone :crying:
I tried adding an another google accont, but I keep getting this message.. anyone else got the same problem?
please help, as I can't get into the market

I also had that problem before.it is
the only bug in stock rom
solution: factory reset your phone and
at start when the setup guide appears
configure your Gmail account at that
point. if you do it later it won't
work .so do it at the first boot.
don't forget to click thanks

I checked your thread and deleted the item.. it re-set my account, but when I go to add a google account,
it gives the same message.. any other ideas?

Password retrieval from mail app

Hi
I decided to get a M5 lite and try to see how it would be for me not having Google services. I do own a P30 pro and waiting to get the new p50 Pro. I even bought a P40 lite 5g but it's is on its way. Anyway back to the description of the problem.
I decided to remove all (or disable) the Google apps from the tab and I even made a new email account with outlook (M5 came with office apps installed and thought it would be OK to register them) instead of Gmail.
Day 2 I couldn't access the mail, verification email needed but sadly I forgot the password (I thought it was saved in the system). No luck. I try to retrieve it from Microsoft. No luck even there. It seems that I don't have to much info for the account to be retrieved.
It is really funny.
I gained access to mail app and my email (somehow from PowerPoint app communication using my phone and receiving a sms code to it, unlocking it) I can send and receive emails.
I am the owner and have total control of the email (single user, single device). I even registered to XDA with this email.
I send emails, communicated to Microsoft to see that I own it.
But for Microsoft it seems that I am not able to demonstrate that I am the owner (screenshot)
My question is
Can I retrieve my password that it is saved to the app (mail Huawei) ?
Other solutions to retrieve password?
I know that I can make another account but I don't want to.

Hi to everyone. I would really be thankful if you can help me out here.
It is really incredible frustrating this thing.
I made an email with outlook.com for my Huawei mediapad m5 lite. Sadly I forgot (wrong written previous password?missspeling?)the password already from day one. I couldn't give more info or start 2 factor verification. This means that I have an account that I use regularly (send and receive emails to my tablet using the Huawei mail application) but I don't know the password.
This means that if I lose the tablet. If the application crashes och my tablet dies I lose the account and all the other info's and accounts linked to it.
Microsoft is really useless. Their algorithm for retrieval av forgotten password is totally useless if you are trying to retrieve for a brand new account (ex. Give previously used passwords - I don't have any!)
I contacted them by chat. They agree that it is strange but again they cannot help.
If someone can help me I would like to know.
Is it possible to find the password stored in My tablet?
When I add an email I am asked to login to Microsoft via their login page. Does that mean that the password is not saved in my tablet?
Can someone help?

After insisting on trying to get a verification of my email (I do managed to activate preinstalled office apps on the tablet and I even bought a subscription of 365 office premium - free trial that I cancelled after I got my password workin) it finally came and I can set my new password and activated 2 factors security etc. It now runs on my phone. Thumbs-up.
In case that someone had interest. Hope no one get to contact Ms for this. Great loss of energy to make something as easy as to change the password.
