Help with using an RUU - Sprint HTC One (M8)

I have an HTC One M8 and I'm running a Viper One M8 2.5.0 I'm thinking of going back to stock and I was suggested to use an HTC One Sprint RUU specifically the one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173 . I just want to know if this is completely safe and will not destroy my htc one m8.

It's safe:thumbup:
Click the second link in my sig and scroll down to the RUU section. There are instructions there on how to run the RUU. If you're S-on you'll need to relock your bootloader using the command fastboot oem lock prior to using the RUU.

flash RUU.exe, for example "RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7" from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39588860
just run the exe, it's not difficult as long as you are s-off
cheers

If you can't find an ruu for your carrier or device, just change cid to 11111111, and you can use any of the ruus.
"Fastboot one writecid 11111111"
AT&T HTC M7

No, RUU wont remove S-OFF. You will have to manually run the command to S-ON the phone.

Pls. help! Cant S-Off Htc One M8 HK even with Sunshine S-Off!...

hello dear friends, maybe someone can lead me in the right direction here. I have a sprint Htc One m8 Harman Kardon with badboyz 4.4.2 rom installed. I have tried rumrunner S-off and Firewater S-off to no avail. I then read about Sunshine S-off and was ok with parting with $25- to have my phone unlocked but when I run the compatibility test in sunshine it says that my htc isnt supported! My htc M8 currently has the BadBoyz rom in it, I dont have a nandroid backup to get back to s tock and i havent been able to find a stock rom that i can flash in TWRP. I have only found RUUs, but to use RUUs you have to have s-off so I really dont know what else to try at this point.... any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
RUU's do not require s-off.

I had some similar issues in the past, try flashing thoughtlesskyle's stock rom. It may show compatability then. Hope this helps.
U need to be running a stock Rom.

Run on a native Winodows Vr. to dual boot?

Here we have RUUs for both the Sprint HTC One M8 Harman model & the non-HK model. These RUUs are for the Sprint model ONLY. You must flash the appropriate RUU for your handset unless you have superCID. If you have superCID, you can flash either RUU.
For superCID, use this fastboot cmd: fastboot oem writecid 11111111
HUGE Thanks to the dude who hooked me up, you're awesome!

So has anyone tried to use this ROM/RUU to load Android on a SIM and boot to Android from that SIM? And/or to boot to Android but on an HTC One m8 that was natively shipped with Windows on it? In other words, I would like to see if I can have a native Windows version of HTC One M8 and yet boot to Android from a SIM when I want to use Android. Anyone tried this or think this will work? I've seen other threads on here, but don't see anyone trying to use this ROM/RUU to do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...on-porting-wm8-to-android-htc-t2865785/page11
Hi,
I moved this to Q&A it really doesn't belong in the RUU thread.
Thanks,
