Speaker phone broken in all aosp/com roms

Posted in several threads about this, but not really getting any where.
I'm having a problem in all aosp roms where the speaker phone does not work. People complain they can't hear me, and it's completely unusable.
I installed insert coin, and speaker phone works perfect. Now the question is, is this wide spread? Any one else experiencing this? Any fixes?
I'm soff, unlocked bl, gpe converted with super cid, running the latest firmware.

Sound levels of speakers

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a drop in sound levels of the One's speakers.
When I bought the phone I was blown away by the quality and volume of "BoomSound". I've started tinkering with the phone and installed different ROMs and then I've S-OFFed did the GPE ruu conversion and then back to Sense complete stock (via RUU). In the middle of all this I noticed the volume and quality of the front speakers is not what it once was. First I just thought I was getting used with the phone and was just crazy, but now I bought a new One for my wife and oh my do those speakers "boom".
Setting the new One to half volume is about as loud as my One at full volume, plus mine clip at full volume.
Question is, anyone else has experienced this? Is it a hardware problem (I dropped the phone a couple of times) or is it because all the software stuff.
I'm also thinking the small grill might be clogged and muffle the sound, but I'm afraid to stick something in there (like a pin) because of damaging the speakers even worse.
The volume was lowered by HTC in the 4.3 update so probably this is the reason. Any custom ROMs which use the same base have lower volume. Did your wife's new One get the latest update? Probably after the update the volume will be lower too.
Hmmm, did not know that. You are right, she didn't do the update to 4.3 yet. Why would they do that? Is there a tweak to bring back the old levels?

I heard a few issues with people blowing the speakers from the loud volume and that's why. Perhaps if you dig around you might find a tweak somewhere

Pebble Causing Bluetooth Headphones SQ Distortion?

Since upgrading to 4.3 on my Note Ii, I have noticed that when the pebble is connected to my phone, it causes the sound quality to diminish significantly. Sort of like resembling a low bitrate MP3.
This doesn't seem to be a problem on the Nexus 4 or on the 4.1.2 version of Android that was on my Note II before.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions, as it is a bit of a dealbreaker for me?
Thank you
Don't have any issues like yours but I have a Note 3.

Glad to hear you don't have this problem on the Note III. Strange because you're also on 4.3 (I think), unless you've already been updated to kitkat.
It's infuriating though and it's really making me want to change phone or cancel my pebble steel order and sell my current one too.
I am on 4.3. Haven't got my KK yet, had it this morning and wasn't on WiFi. Now I have to wait. But I've had my pebble since September and haven't had any issues with sound or anything. I've connected Bluetooth headsets while having the pebble connected and no issues. Only issue I've had is the talk back bug with the stock browser.

Just tested this on a stock HTC One (also on 4.3) and it has the exact same issue. Seems to be a problem with Android itself. I find it hard to believe that this problem isn't widespread on 4.3. Will test it on a Note 3 tomorrow.
I hope the Kit Kat update gets a move on...

Earbuds mic not working on CM11

After a few issues i managed to install the latest CM11 nightly on my att htc vivid (s-off) however today i noticed that my wired mic is not working when doing a call, the person i am calling can not hear me.
I checked the CM11 thread and it seems that there is at least another memeber that is experiencing the same.
Is there anything i can do? I have tried my iphone and galaxy s4 earbuds with the same results...

If you read through the forum you should find a number of other people having the same problem. I have seen a couple of people claim that Skullcandy buds do work, haven't heard any others.
I dont think it is an issue of the brand of buds
I have tried several types with the same results. Whats more, everything works fine when i use Vonage or Skipe, the other person can hear me without problems.
This issue only happens when i do a regular voice call. Rather than hardware, it seems like an issue on the voice call application in the phone

Bluetooth Radio in Nexus 6 seems weak, is there a fix?

I'm running Pure Nexus ROM on my Nexus 6, and the bluetooth radio seems very weak. Compared to my LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy S3, I get crackles on my bluetooth headset, and have to use it in the ear that is closest to the pocket I keep my Nexus in. The other phones work fine. I don't even have a case on my Nexus. This is beginning to be a deal killer for using the Nexus, as I spend lots of time on my bluetooth headset (A Plantronics Voyager Edge).
Is there any fix for this? Could I flash a different radio/modem and fix it? Or did I just get a bad Nexus, and I'll need to sell it, or get it fixed?
Help much appreciated.

I do not have that issue and those who run a custom rom do not either nor have reported. You did not give details about your phone or setup so I would first advise try to reflash the radio or a newer radio see if BT is better.

agreed, the range on the Nexus 6 sucks. I have the same issue with my earbuds
I thought so too. Till I bought some jaybirds bluebuds x. Now I can have my phone in my pocket, camel pack, baby pack and my son's stroller

I am running the latest radio version, 5.32R. Baseband version MDM9625_104662.22.05.32R. Would it make sense to downgrade the radio? Or am I just chasing a fantasy that one of the radios will fix the weak bluetooth?

I don't think you have much to lose to experiment. Try different radio downgrading and or doing a full wipe and go full stock see if issue exist if you are on a custom rom. Just make needed backups to restore later.
