Hello everybody,
I am totally new with the unlocking bootloader/rooting process (except for my Memopad 7 ME572C that I rooted just by using an .apk). So I hope my question won't look to stupid and that it's not already answered. I browsed the guide thread which was a great help !
I understood the main process, unlocking bootloader, then every step to get to the root but here is the question :
I couldn't find any CWM recovery (listed here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/xt10xx-philz-touch-t2612149) that would be compatible with my device. Here is the information about my phone :

If no dedicated CWM recovery is avalaible, would another do the job ?
Thanks !
Nearly all the root processes for a 2013 X with unlocked bootloader suggests using TWRP.
Download the latest TWRP Recovery from -> http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/234 (under the Download-Fastboot heading)
Hey Waxa93!
Did you ever get your Moto XT1052 Rooted? I've got the same phone on 4.4.4 and am pretty confused as to whether our bootloader is even unlockable?

Yes, you should be able to unlock the XT1052 bootloader.

Thanks a lot KidJoe! I actually have a vague memory of reading that post quite some time ago and chickening out due to the warranty void. Think it's time to take the plunge. Thanks again!

I bought my HTC one a day ago, soon as I powered it up I rooted the device to use titanium backup properly.
After a few hours I realised that I was running 4.1.2 and there is a 4.2.2 out (I believe).
The OTA update didn't find anything. So here are my questions, assuming that the OTA update doesn't find anything because I unlocked the bootloader and rooted.
Is there anyway to update my phone to 4.2.2 or 4.2.1 without having to unroot, lock bootloader and wipe?
If not, will unlocking the bootloader again after OTA wipe the device the downgrade it to 4.1.2?
If yes, how? How can I update this device to the latest version?
I know I can install custom roms, but I actually like the default rom look and feel. But I want the latest version, since there are some nice changes in the latest versions.
Secondary question, when investigating this, my software versions below, match up with the following RUU:
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.29.707.3_R_Radio_4A .14.3250.13_10.33.1150.01_release_311678_signed
But I bought my phone in the UK, Shouldn't it be the Europe version? I don't mind, since it's working. But it's just confusing me. I would have assumed it would be this version I require:
RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13. 3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.
My current software:

Any advice on this is appreciate, since the phone is so new, I don't want to screw it up by flashing the wrong thing.
Sorry for asking a question which no doubt has been asked a million times.:crying:
Hi I'd really appreciate some help! I'm totally lost. I need someone to PLEASE explain some of this to me like i'm 5!
I've been trying for hours to understand what steps to take in getting a working 4.4.4 version on my Xperia Z and i'm close to giving up.
I've followed the guide and unlocked my bootloader successfully. Here's what it shows about my phone:

I'm reading and reading different forums on what's next and its not clicking with my thick head for some reason.
How do I get to a stable version? Can I install something like Cyanogenmod and is there a latest version?
Any help would be so so nice!
Please post questions in the Q&A section

Flashing stock 4.4.4 does not require BL to be unlocked.
you can use flashtool to flash the rom
Download any 4.4.4 firmware for 6602 rom from here
Download flashtool from here
Tutorial for using flashtool is here

I like running custom roms and having root and recovery and such . my s3 had a locked bootloader limiting what i could do to it. i was wondering if someone would look at the state of this phone and direct me to a guide ? I have read that i neede towelroot or stump root to get it rooted since its 26a then an app called freegee could install twrp . main question is since its on 4.4.2 am i stuck to 4.4.2 based roms?

Avoid freegee, from what I've read here, a good way to brick. Stump root will root the phone but I don't know the steps involved, maybe someone else can enlighten that part. Freedom tool works well for twrp. As far as roms go, you can totally flash different roms but they each have their own process (different radios, bumped, read the ops and you'll find everything you need there). We do have a locked bootloader, but the great devs here have worked around our with no issues.
On 5.1.1 build LMY48T
When I received this phone on 16Nov I tried to let do the update to MM. It would D/L but fail in updating. (Just reboot after each try) I went ahead with 5.1.1 in unlocking and rooting with no problem. tried to allow it to update date again as it has been requesting and it now justs boots into TWRP. I wish to upgrade to MM but am stymied. Need Guru assistance.
First time around it might have been a corrupt download. Now it's because you're rooted and have TWRP installed. To be able to update through OTA your system needs to be fully stock.
To update now you need to flash a factory image (plenty of guides if you search). I recommend using fastboot, but you could also use a toolkit (Nexus Root Toolkit). If you don't want to wipe your phone, leave out the userdata image when flashing (or the "no wipe"-mode in NRT).
I did search but I have to admit I got alittle confused as there seemed to be different factory versions available. I did do updates to my Note 2 until they sneakily locked the bootloader on me (verizon Bastages) I will look at the guides more throughly now to educate myself better. Thank for the guidance.
Which one?

Either of them will work, bu to save you time, get the latest (MRA58R) because it's just going to prompt you to install those.
Following the advice my N6 is rocking MM and rooted. Thanks to all.
Awesome! Glad you got it working!
I just recieved my imported AT&T s6 active and I'm super pleased by the phone!
The phone came with 5.1.1 preloaded and I'm assuming the bootloader is locked.
I've heard root is only available for 5.0 and root is a MUST for me can I downgrade with Odin and root?
Also does locked bootloader mean no flashing zips, right? Alas, no xposed?
Sorry, no root for you yet. Root only work on 5.0.1 and no downgrade. Thought you not necessarily need custom bootloader to flash zip, in S7 Active topic on XDA they do it through app, but still need root... Switch to s7A until your phone is new, or learn to live without root.

I've been trying to follow a method described in other forums and mentioned by many other xda users, but once I re flash stock firmware I don't have root access.
I suspect my problem is when running "ROOT_FIX.bat" having my phone on recovery.

I've no idea how to assess this.
Maybe this root method was just intended to be temporary for IMEI and CSC purpouses?
The forum I followed wasn't very explicative.
