My phone works with LTE data through multiple ROMs however anything that relies on CDMA (voice/text/3G) will not work. It seems to have happened right after I flashed the SaberMod+ Unofficial CM12 on the 02/01 nightly. Has anyone experienced this and fixed the problem. Let me know if you need any extra details.

it sounds like your unit is on LTE only which voice and all that great stuff don't work on.
Use the phone app and dial *#*#4636#*#*
Then select phone information
Then make sure you are on LTE/CDMA auto (PRL) if this doesn't work either set it to LTE/GSM/CDMA Auto (PRL)
report back with what yours is on.
You could also manually flash the stock android image to see if everything works as it should

Funny thing. I'm on LTE/CDMA (auto). Any time I try to set it to just CDMA, it bounces back to LTE/CDMA. I can't set 3G or 1x as an option under Mobile Networks either.
Also doesn't work when I set it to LTE/GSM/CDMA.

I personally do not recommend toolkits, I learned to use fastboot, but not everyone wants to do this. The problem with toolkits is if something goes wrong youll end up stuck unless you know how to do the commands. Plenty have used it here to flash stock, but YMMV.
If you have a computer with ADB already setup and don't mind getting dirty, go the manual route and flash it via fastboot. If you don't have a computer setup already you could try wugs.

You may need to be on a stock ROM for it to work. A menu should open and you select reset. It reprovisions your data service. No personal data is lost.

Whelp, I flashed to complete stock and got my CDMA back. Now to try what killed it again to see if it's consistent, since I know how to fix it now. I really like the SaberMod+ CM12. It was a pity what happened before.
Hopefully this'll be helpful for anyone who gets stuck in a similar situation.

Here is the easiest way to return to stock from Revolt or Rehomed. This is the stock system and boot.imgs. You can do it all from your phone, and you do NOT need to unroot.
What is this?
This is the ZV4 stock system and boot.img. I bascially disassembled the stock rooted system.img posted by thecubed and made it into a cwm zip.

How do I install this?
1.) Download the .zip & make sure 4g is enabled.
2.) Place zip in external sdcard
3.) I recommend to wipe data to prevent any problems
4.) Go to install zip from sdcard
5.) Select StockRootedZV4.zip
6.) Reboot
7.) Install RevoToolKit
8.) Follow instructions of replacing cwm with stock recovery
9.) After stock recovery you can check for updates!!!

Very Excited. This should make life much easier, with fewer steps. Thanks MT. All your "overtime" you are putting into this is very much appreciated.
So, say someone wasn't in 4G mode when they reflashed to stock, and did /data wipe.. and now gets "your phone needs a SIM card to activate" when back at the "select your language", etc...
I assume this is because I wasn't in 4G mode, but not sure. Any number of reboots with SIM card/battery pull/reseats or return to revolt {pick a version} roms doesn't help. I have no boot loops or freezes, just can't get past activation to do anything (other than make an "emergency call")
Would flashing with LGNPST back to the .tot file potentially get me to a better spot or is it time to visit my friends at Verizon?
Thanks mt. I will be flashing this soon. Downloading directly to the phone onto the sim card. Hopefully I can get GB and gingervolt later today!!

Sucks for me I guess. Still says there are no updates for my phone.

First connect to WiFi and make sure you can access the web.
Next put the N4 into airplane mode.
Then go to Settings > Apps > All > Google Services Framework > Clear data
Take the N4 out of airplane mode and let it connect to WiFi.
After a few minutes, you will be prompted to install the OTA update.
If you are not prompted within 10 minutes, open the dialer and force a "checkin" by typing: *#*#2432546#*#*
After "checkin succeded" message, you should be prompted to install the update.
Enjoy!

No. But for real. Updates are pushed out in waves. If your device is not on the current wave you will not get the update. That's it.
Don't want to wait. Do it manually.

"Easy" is a relative term. Not everyone here, especially in the "General" forum is comfortable yet with flashing alternative recoveries or using abd, etc. This is meant for the novice and/or purist who does not want to alter the phone in order to receive and apply the update. This method does in fact work. Quite often the device is ready to receive the update, but the built in automatic & manual checkin fails to trigger the process. Clearing the GSF data forces the device to initiate it almost immediately, as opposed to waiting an undetermined amount of time for the device to resolve the issue on its own.
My advice to the audience who this is intended for: If this did not work for you now, try it again in a few hours or tomorrow, I assure you it will be much faster than waiting for it to happen naturally. In fact, to prove my point further, go ahead and try the manual checkin (under settings > about phone > system updates) first, each time, before you try this. You'll eventually see what I mean. FYI - Every Nexus device has behaved this way.
How come I can't get the update to install either in CWM or from OTA?? If I do OTA the phone reboots into CWM and I get an "assert failed" and installation aborted.... And if I manually go into CWM and "update from SD card" option I get the same issue!

You only need to clear data of google services framework, then check for updates. Rinse and repeat until it works - usually 1-5 times.

As far as that goes, how is installing the LG G2 unified drivers supposed to go? I found the download link for them in the main 200 page thread for this. Extracted the zip, but none of the .exe files do anything when run. Is that normal or is something wrong? For example I tried running InstallUSB64.exe but absolutely nothing happens.
Another more recent post on like page 185 of the thread had another download link, but that just leads to a file called "LG" with no extension and it doesn't appear to be a .zip

Im having problems rooting it as well. I installed the latest drivers 1.14 I believe, and when trying to root it using ioroot25 it says downgrade to a previous version.
I do have it on Ethernet mode, and it reboots it into recovery, but that's it. I select apply update from adb but again, on ioroot it does nothing after the suggestion to downgrade.
any suggestions?

So, I've downloaded CloudyStock, but am totally ignorant as to how I should proceed. I've looked through the forums over there, but can't find a step by step. Could anyone help me out? I've downloaded FreeGee and QuickBoot if that helps.

Flashing a ROM is easy via recovery. I personally flash any new ROM with an otg usb drive. Once recovery is installed, hit install button then directory/path/to/your/ROM.zip then swipe to flash. Its actually easy, and assuming all your software is correct, should boot right in.

No way is it bricked. For that, you would need cloudys support/thread. I've seen a thread pertaining to that but can't recall the specifics. Your not a bother, but I typically try to stay away from ROMs that have multiple issues mainly because my time is limited for trouble shooting. I found xdabbebs modified stock ROM ideal for a daily driver with Dori's kernel and g2 tweaks the most stable and dependable. I have yet to try cloudys mainly because of the issues of other users. I think your main issue here is having Verizon software on a T-mobel network. Your will probably have to flash t-mob KDZ files in order to correct your problems. I would think a mobile carrier would do this for you when you signed on idk. in the cloudystock OP post, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50630975 his link to basebands your are going from a vs980 to a d802 yes? Download appropriate file and install via LG flash tool. Hope this helps, let me know if you get this resolved. Just out of curiosity, in settings/about phone/ software, what does it say about your baseband?

I flashed the VS980 version on, which I assumed was the correct one...should I try the D802 instead? That might be where I went wrong.
Baseband is 24A-M8974A-AAAANAZM-2.0.20046.
I know this is asking a lot, but if anyone is interested/feels like donating their time, I'd be extremely happy to host a Skype call to figure it out: Skype name is grandpa_faust
I think reading between 2 different forums is getting me messed up. What I had heard was that CloudyStock is "THE BEST" ROM for it, I just want simple functionality from my phone on T-Mobile (with wifi calling and wireless charging, hopefully!) Thank you for being supportive so far, it's a lot to take in!

Hi there grandpa_faust. I was in a similar situation as you in terms of wanting to use your Verizon LG G2 with T-Mobile service. I purchased a Verizon LG G2 yesterday. I rooted and installed recovery but kept it stock. I had planned to use the phone with T-Mobile service. After I entered the correct APN settings the phone would not even connect at H+ speeds. I think it was closer to 2G speed, but I knew that it should connect at a higher speed since my Nexus 5 reached LTE speeds with the same SIM card. I installed CloudyStock 2.2 choosing the Verizon variant in the Aroma installer. With the network mode in Global and with the correct APN settings the phone seems to be connected at LTE speeds. I tested the phone while I was out and about today and the areas where I had LTE with my Nexus 5 were connecting at the same speeds with the LG G2.
Your current baseband is the same one that I have right now. I'm not sure where you are at this point. If you are rooted and have recovery then you are almost there if your goal is to install a custom ROM. I'm sure there are others on this awesome forum who will chime in as well in case your problems are more involved.
Regards.

Ok, Emmitt! SO, data settings had defaulted to MetroPCS, now that I changed it to TMobile IPv6 the data works fine! However, the error message from before (android.process.acore, contacts) are still there and I can't use the phone or contacts. Should I just switch to a different ROM? Skype is still open for any takers
The solution:
Settings –> Applications –> Manage Applications –> All (button on the top that lets you see all applications) –> scroll down to “Contacts Storage” –> Click on “Clear Data” Then restart

That worked fine, but the same fix did NOT work for the messaging. I've got 2 out of 3! Thank you all for your knowledge, I hope we can get this last bit in.

did you do a full wipe in recovery prior to flashing the zip? Most installer scripts do this but if it's not done (otherwise known as a dirty flash) might be fragmented software causing conflicts.

I thought I had, I can re-wipe and reinstall if that helps! I definitely did prior to installing the recovery app.

Just try wiping dalvik and cache in advanced wipe of twrp. Should fix, if not do a factory reset via twrp this will erase all apps and data

Factory reset did it! Sometimes I still get a message "SIM detected, switching to global mode" or the network goes out entirely for 2-3min, but overall the phone, data and sms work just fine!
I'm going to try and figure out wifi calling, then I'll be golden. Thank you all so so much for your comments and support, I wish I could throw gold at you! Cheers.

The new problem is, I flashed a D801 kernel by accident and now it's in bootloop. I can sometimes get it to recognise the drivers and I can consistently get into download mode, but neither KDZ or TOT pushing has worked. :/

Can you get into recovery? Power vol- button combo? If so just flash correct kernel version n good to go. It will tell you factory hard reset but it won't. That's part of the Loki patch work around. Power 3 times then recovery menu will pop up.
ok I have a att galaxy s5 rooted on stock rom.......im having issues with my location settings..ex. face book- when I check in pop up says to turn on gps and wireless networks in location settings I go there and nothing google location reporting is blocked out so I cant tap it what can I do????
Did this happen after root? Go into recovery and clear Dalvik and cache

I'm having trouble after root too. I started a thread about it. My GPS refuses to fix my location. It will get my initial location, then shut right off. Does your GPS work in maps? If you download an app like GPS Status and Tools or similar, will it pick up your location?
First question, did anyone install xposed or any other mods?

I would follow steps 1-4, Odin back to stock, from this guide to make sure that it may not be a permanent problem first.

Thanks for this. I can't speak for OP, but I flashed back to stock firmware using Odin earlier today and my problem still persists. I have verified that I'm now unrooted and running stock firmware.
