I have a Hong Kong version of the Moto G (2014) being used in Thailand. This morning I received notice that the OTA update was available. I downloaded and installed it without issues. The entire process took about 25 minutes from start to finish. Fifteen minutes to download and about ten minutes for OS to install and rebuild the dalvik cache.
what was your version?

21.11.23 was the old version. Just check a screenshot from before the update.

Does anyone have any clue what Motorola intends to do with this phone, the GSM Global XT1603 running 21.11.23 firmware?
I thought they pushed out an OTA for all of us but apparently it isn't true.
So nobody receives OTA update for the device except me?
That's weird.
I do not get it. still 21.11.23
I finally got it on the other G.
It's weird that they pushed OTA on one phone then stopped 'til two weeks later.
Anyway, both of my Gs running the latest 5.0.2 now

You should give more information if you want someone to help you.
Was it the official ota you received on your phone that you tried to update from or a captured one?
Is your bootloader locked /unlocked?
Is your phone rooted?
Which firmware you are on?
What exactly happened during the update process?

Ok, did you get all further OTA including the stagefright patch? In your "About Phone" settings your firmware version should look something like XT1064 5.0.2 LXB22.99-24.12.
If you are on an earlier firmware you have to update your phone to the latest version, you can get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/official-stock-firmware-5-0-2-lxb22-46-t3019612 (Post #3 is for XT1064).
If you are on the latest firmware and OTA fails you can flash MM manually.
Check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/6-0-xt1064-usa-ota-captured-t3327389/page2.
everything ok!thanks wolfcity
My phone updated OTA to 6.0; now it does not receive calls. I can make calls.
Resetting network settings did not help. I'm not able to restore the phone to factory; the option/button is grayed out.
I also cannot enable the USB debugging/developer mode...

Got it working. I was able to restore it via hardware/recovery.
followed the instructions and was able to upgrade to LXB22.99-24.4 however when i hit system update it says "your device is upto date". Is this because my device is rooted? How can i get 6.0 on my xt1064?
Hi guys,
I want to know how to update to latest oreo update with all the security patches.
I am following this how-to thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...w-to-install-android-oreo-snapdragon-t3716281 but in the OP the links are broken.
Can anyone update me on this?
The phone is from verizon but I didn't use it on verizon. I got this phone last November. Currently using on Cricket, so probably I don't get automatic updates from Verizon.
my note 8 info:
7.1.1
experience v. 8.5
security patch level Nov 1, 2017
Baseband v. N950USQS2BQK2
Thanks in advance.

I am unsure if you should be on a much newer filmware or not. Sometimes a factory reset can resolve OTA not coming through, this will delete the phone memory though, so back up your data.
You can also get official filmware from sammobile and updato. Just if you want to flash Oreo with Odin, make sure you use the latest version of Odin (3.13.1)

I am on Cricket and using Verizon note 8 that I got from last December. Last update was in November when I still have Verizon. After inserting Cricket sim card, there has never been an update anymore. I turned on Wifi and went into settings> software update to refresh, and there is no awaiting update. I didn't change to unlock firmware (as I do not know how). How do you go about installing the updates to latest Oreo using Odin? I am on 7.1.1 with build 2BQK2

I recommend that you try a factory reset to see if that pushes the OTA update.
If this fails, I will help you step by step with Odin.
I'm still on Android 8.0 on my unlocked Moto X4 (XT1900-5). Is anybody else still 8.0 with this model?

Yes, I did not receive the OTA update to pie from Motorola yet (xt1900-7).
Glad to hear it, I was starting to think something was wrong with my handset.
Me too. We were left behind.
OTA server issue?
Are you in the UK? My moto x4 is stuck on the exact same update. XT1900-5, reteu software channel.
Motorola UK's website shows that the Pie update has been released when in actual fact, it has not been released at all. I have a feeling that there has been some error or issue with the OTA server causing no one here to recieve it.
A few people got it in December when it was released for all other variants, but that OTA clearly stopped soon after and now there have been no updates since October. It's a pretty poor performance from Motorola to be honest. I see no reason why they can't at least release security updates for Oreo.
Yep in the UK XT1900-5, unlocked.

With an unlocked bootloader, you usually will not get any OTA updates. If you can download them, then you cannot install them.

I meant unlocked, as in SIM free.
I've emailed Motorola, who told me they contacted their technical team. They are adamant that Pie will be released officially in the "near future" and they are aware there haven't been any updates since October. So, take that as you wish.
The Android 9.0 update has just appeared on my phone today.
Someone over on reddit mentioned that he wasn't getting it ota, but temporarily switched to a SIM from another carrier and it immediately showed up when he booted to the new SIM.
It seems that it now says on Motorola's UK software upgrade page, that the Moto X4 sim free began rolling 9.0 on 24th June 2019.

That would've been me. I'm not sure if it was a coincidence though because the update was released on the same day!
I had a similar experience. XT1900-5 version, running android 8.0.0 when I bought it. Didn't find any updates when I searched to try to update it to android 9 (pie) , I unlocked the bootloader, and later on decided to put a sim in it. After a few minutes of having the sim in, it found the update. The update downloads but when it's downloaded and in the "verifying" stage, it fails, probably because I unlocked the bootloader.
Advice to anyone with a locked bootloader - don't be like me, try putting a sim in the phone and get the update before doing anything else if you want Android 9.

must be stock rom to allow update to complete. Plug it to Motorola Rescue and Smart Assistant to see if it will update it.
Has anyone actually received the update to ATK1? I was on ATJ5 with the October update however I saw the ATJ1 in Frija. The phone was saying I was up to date so I am manually flashing it. I am just curious if my phone was going to get the update or not as I am running a SIM unlocked ATT device on the unlocked firmware.
I received the ATK1 update OTA last week. I'm on ATT with a factory unlocked phone.

ditto for me.
Recieved the update on the 24th. Same date as the previous month's update. Both times I had to manually check for updates before it showed up. On Mint with a factory unlocked.
I'm USA unlocked on T-Mobile and was tired of waiting for the update. They are always last to push it. So I used the guide that was posted on this forum on how to change your CSC to check for and download the update. Worked perfect. Had the new update installed in like 5 minutes.
