Contacts on ATT Tilt

Just a stupid Newb question. Not that it matters, but i'm just curious.
Where are the contacts saved on the tilt? is it like a csv file or what?
What if i just wanted to save just the file for the contacts externally without ActiveSync, is that possible?

I think they are saved as a database file that cannot be copied over or copied from.

Thanks for your reply
Your contacts are actually saved in the pim.vol file in the root of your device. Save that and you'll save your contacts.

SIM Contacts

Hello,
I have applied the KaiserTweak and changed the settings to hide SIM contacts, but they keep on showing after a reset. How do you ensure that they are hidden completely.
I am concerned about the problem because I just received my Bluetooth Headset (HBH-DS980), and it can't retrieve contacts information from my device.
I would appreciate any assistance,
sincerely, MN
try this
Andics,
thanks very much. I saw this cab earlier. When i download it onto my mobile device, i'm unable to run the *.cab file -- it still opens as an *.xml file when I double-click on it.
I've attached a screen shot of the contents of the zipped file...
what can i do next?

You probably have pocketRAR or something that handles cab as a compress file and it's telling the system to extract the CAB file !!!
I installed the cab file fine ... run it ... don't extract it !!

HTC One Backup file on Dropbox

Is there anyway to possible open this backup file with a program. I no longer have an htc phone, but I would like to retrieve some old contacts and sms messages. When I open the folder, the files have no association, it just says file. They are are also oddly names like "1a0c21af-b4f3-4927-bae2-e05fadbd901b". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

This is really complicated if you dont have access to a HTC device anymore. But there is a way if you are able to do that or you know someone who can... http://blog.interrupt3h.com/?p=328 What is written on this page is for restoring mp3 files out of the HTC backup, but it should work for every file. Just read it

forgot my htc one M9 contacts encryption password

Hi there...
I am having problem while accessing my contacts file. I've encrypted my contacts file and later forgot its password, my all contacts are deleted unfortunately and I no longer have access to this file. I am asking if there is any way to decrypt that file. If there is please tell me as soon as possible.
Note : the file is in .vef format instead of .vcf format.
