I was just curious if lowering your screen resolution will increase the performance and/or the battery life on our device say to 1080 P or 1080 by 1920?
Yes it does.
I'm trying it out right now and I see a difference.
I prefer over clocking and extra batteries.
But whatever floats your boat.
This is the Google search I used.

Open it and enter your desired height, with, and DPI (480 looked best to me, but it's personal preference). Hit apply and reboot your device a few times for the changes to take effect.

I just wanna ask if this is normal?
When I hold the screen for a while it can burn out my fingers.
Its freaky hot.
The temperature is 59 degrees celsius.

Nope, its too high. Normal should be 32-36 and some times the temp may go a little high during charging. But never this high.
The obvious reason is ur Overclocking. Some phones are not built for it. STOP Ocing to 1.6. Try a reasonable 1.3 or the best 1.2GHz
You're gonna burn your battery and your phone into the ground if you don't scale that back.
It is usually best to try and keep your phone under 40c whevever possible, and never above 45c for too long.
Can the phone still run - yes
Is it wise for long periods of time - absolutely not!...

Or simply use the 1GHz standard CPU frequency for which the device was designed.
Overclocking without really knowing what problems this may cause....
Thank You guys.
I will try to keep the temperature in normal levels.
Thanks for the support.
Recently, some people have discussed about the power consumption of our nova ips screen in different background colour.
Here is a simple test to check out the real situation.
Again, the test is conducted with a power meter. The phone is initially charged to 100%. Hence, the reading is approximately to the power consumption of the phone.:laugh:
Firstly, the screen was set to 100% brightness. Here is the power consumption of the screen in different display colour.

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then, the screen was set to 0% brightness.
As you can see, the power consumption are nearly the same with the same brightness level. Even thought the black is consuming little bit less power, the difference is negligible. The major factor affecting the consumption of the screen is the brightness.
Hence, we can use any background we like, no matter what colour it is. :laugh:
ps. the reading of the meter is not the actual power of the phone. This is due to some power loss during the voltage transformation. However, the value is still comparable and the test is a reliable test. :laugh:
Just type the thanks button if u think this is helpful.:laugh:
well, that's some good research.
Thanks for you time, good job. :good:
Indeed, it's very helpful, more for the devs I think...
However, can ask you to make test with different clockspeeds and voltages? like using zeus at 200Mhz with -7v->0v->+7v, then something like 600Mhz with -7v->0v->+7v and then 1200Mhz~1300Mhz with -7v->0v->+7v
Those values can give a more widely view and maybe help to something like SODs maybe? we know if voltage goes too low it wont even awake phone, so that could help to determine a min value for that, and a max value to not burn the core

Oh snap Yeah I got to figure out what boats apps I missed.
All Verizon and Amazon apps are disabled on mine except the hotspot and voicemail app

Nice
very satisfied with my bike maxx
This is great for a device not weighted down by bloatware. Judaxxx
I believe our specs could definitely keep up with phones loaded with the 810 snapdragon
Only difference is a slight performance boost and 64 bit ready not a big difference in my opinion except for the 64 bit part
I'm also eager to see if there would be a noticeable difference in performance and battery life
There is but not by much
Maybe because of the droid specs lollipop could give boost?

I guess we will have to make sure and kill all apps. S6 does not release RAM from apps on exit, according to Mr. Kelly and Samsung.
Go into developer options and scroll down to 'limit background processes' and change it from standard to 3 or 4. Loving this phone... but the battery life... terrible

You can tweak that setting like mentioned above, but that's useless. It may get held in ram, but it will get booted out if something else needs the ram, simply closing the app shouldn't move it out of ram, that will cause lots of resuming problems. The original HTC One suffered from that and people complained, now it holds on to it until something else needs it (using zero battery to do so) and some dumb reporter has people freaking out about it.

Ok . thank you @designgear
I'm new to this device and a little dismayed at the poor battery performance.
I don't consider myself a heavy user but find the battery is almost depleted after 8 hours of so, after being charged.
I can't find a SCREEN ON TIME in the settings so not sure how much screen time I'm getting.
I have received the September update, shortly after getting the phone.
Do any of the custom ROMs offer better battery life?
thanks
If you went into settings>battery it should be there

Doesn't seem so, all cores on the lowest frequency
