[Help Required URGENT] - N7000 no download mode no recovery - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Recently my Nexus 4 broke, and I had to borrow an old N7000 from a friend. It was running 4.2.2 when I got it. I downloaded the correct firmware (DDLSC) for rooting it & flashed it through ODIN. It rooted perfectly & I was able to install the latest Philz recovery through the CWM. Through Philz, I was able to install the Resurrection Remix ROM (CM12) & Forest Kernel perfectly. I used it for a few days and then I also updated it 2-3 times. A simple flash was causing FC's so I had to do a full wipe everytime. But everytime I booted into recovery, It opened up the CWM instead of Philz. So, I had to install latest Philz first, then reboot recovery & install the ROM.
Last week, I decided to change the ROM to Nightowl BETA 5 (which is also CM12). I used the same procedure, full wipe & install. Most of the time, it would boot into CWM by default. I don't know why Philz wasn't getting installed permanently. Sometimes, it broke the root & stuck at bootloop. So, I had to install CWM again. And again. The custom binary count had already reached 3.
Nightowl BETA 5 also worked correctly. after a few days, I downloaded BETA 6 & tried to install it. Same way - full wipe & flash. It flashed & booted once. But the battery went dead after a few hours & I connected it to the charger & tried to boot it but it didnt boot at all. I have been trying to get it to boot for a few days now but nothing.
It shows the charger sign only when connected (either to laptop or charger, no boot, no connection). While connected, I tried to get download mode. It went upto the warning sign, where I have to press volume Up to continue. After pressing volume Up, no download mode, it goes back to the charger.
I bought a USB jig yesterday & tried to get download mode using the instructions from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084222
During all the steps, I get only a black screen. Nothing else.
Now it's only in the charger mode & no boot, no recovery, no download mode(except warning). Any & all help to get me out of this situation will be appreciated. I have to return it to the friend I borrowed it from ASAP & in working condition.

Why do you flash a borrowed phone? [emoji32]
Guess you have to pay for the phone then... STUPID!

2. Flash was confirmed rebooted.
3. Got Bootloop (Rocket Logo)
4. Could boot into download mode but PC not seeing device.
5. Removed battery for over 1 min.
6. Still no difference, the device just cant be seen. Even after reinstalling the drivers. via Kies trouble shooting.
Anyone have any ideas??

I had the same problem today, but it worked when i did this:
- Volume down + Home + Power
- Do not press continue yet
- Open Odin
- Connect it to the computer
- Choose Continue on the Note
Now the computer should install two new drivers (modem and another one), and then the phone will pop up on the computer.
Odin is seeing :- 0:[COM4]
Thanks so much really thought I'd bricked it. Forgot all about Odin A Beer and a thanks to you both.
Just a note, not sure what went wrong but I had to flash a full stock ROM including the Modem, Code and Multi to get it working again.

[Q] Galaxy Note totally Dead

Hi friends
I asking for help because yesterday i flash AOKP JB-4 in to my galaxy note N7000 but something went wrong in the middle of the rom install the screen put black and since then the phone is not working.
I'm going to explain all the process i made to flash the new rom
1. I install Clockwork Recovery in the galaxy note
2. I did a nandroid
3. I flash the rom with rom manager v5.0.2.1
4. The phone enter recovery wipe delvik and cache and started to install the rom
5. In the middle of the process the phone went black. is not the battery because it was 80% full
I have tried to enter recovery mode, download mode, use odin (but the PC dosent recognized the phone) i have also use [Linux] ModeDetect USBID Detector but this method is not compatible with the n7000
The phone was already rooted but the person who rooted didn't used odin so i don't now if that has something to do with the problem i have.
So is there anyone that can help me to safe the phone or is totally brick
Probably bricked since you didnt follow the warnings and instructions. There are methods in here somewhere were you might be able to partially revive the phone but loose some storage I believe.

You can try using PC odin in download mode to try installing a stock rom. If post update the phone is stuck in boot it probably means your phone is bricked.
Take it to samsung and if you are under warranty they will replace the mother board.
Happened to me. One of those unlucky ones who did factory wipe before the news spread out
Well he said I can't turn it so no download or battery charging mode just nothing. Black screen dead. Like I said when I flash a Rom that what happen to me and nothing no jig nothing made it possible to even turn on make the screen light up other then a motherboard exchange.

[Q] What to do when I soft brick.

I was installing the DA Statusbar mod. Before I did that I back up my phone using CWM and Titanium Backup.
installed with no problems, I then rebooted. Home screen froze for a second and then showed me that my system.ui crashed. It kept doing that for a good 5 minutes. I decided to go back into CWM and restore my last saved state. I recieved an error installing the back ups (I have made 5 so far).
Now I don't really know what to do. I know I have to basically start from the beginning via flashing stock rom on odin. But how would I go about doing that? I can't seem to find the thread that explains this. =/
Thanks in advanced
SOLUTION HERE
You need to be much more specific. What's your recovery version? How did you backup/restore? Have you done this before? What's the error?
Use the unified tool kit to flash the stock rom.
I strangely cannot find a thread for the 9305 for stock roms =\
The stock firmware can be found on sammobile

To shorten the question and answers... If you could still boot to Download mode.
Flash your stock original firmware trhu Odin on your pc or download an exact model for your phone in SamMobile. From there you start a new... Root then re flash the cwm and so on...
If I understand this right you can boot to cwm and you can boot into the phone but the systemui fcs.
You can do a couple things here without having to reflash anything through odin. If you have your original systemui on the phone somewhere you can try and navigate to it with a root explorer then copy it into your system/app reboot and it should be as before, this can be tricky with constant fc's.
If you have a zip which has a systemui in it you can flash that in cwm and should fix the problem.
If you have a custom rom on your phone you can boot into cwm and flash it.
The fact that you have access to cwm and the phone boots but the systemui constantly fc's making the phone unusable means you have more options and quicker ways to get your phone working then going back to scratch and flashing a rom through odin

Solution.
Basically I got stuck at the samsung boot logo for ages.
I am running CWM v5.5.0.4. I have done this before, sorry I wasn't specific, I was trying to multitask. I've attached a screenshot of my phone info for everyone to see.
1. I wiped data/factory reset.
2. Wiped cache partition.
3. Wiped Dalvik Cache
4. Battery Stats
Rebooted, still no luck.
I went into Download mode.
Opened Odin.
Downloaded " Param_Bin_I9305.zip - 612.14 KB" located in this post
Followed the instructions in that post.
rebooted.
Thought it didn't work but my capacitive buttons lit up. SUCCESS!
Saw my homescreen, I thought I would have needed to root again but I managed to get into CWM after rebooting.
I downloaded root checker....I saw that I still had root access.
Installed Pandoriam v6.
Now I am back to normal.
My CWM backup didn't save me, I don't really know why. Maybe I was using it wrong? The thing is It's worked with me in the past, but not on this device.
Is there anyone that could shed light on that issue? I'll try and back it up again. Do I need to repeat the backup more than a few times to register it to the device?
Not sure if this is the right place or not but seems to be a similar situation.
I have a month old S3 LTE that came with 4.1.2 . It has not been rooted or had anything done to it at all.
I found a thread that shows you how to unlock it but was not getting the final option . This I understood was because some of these phones needed to be downgraded .
I saw a procedure using odin and looked for a similar rom on Sammobile but could not see any for Orange UK so picked a random 4.1.1 Rom and flashed it.
This left me with a glowing Samsung boot screen so I tried another ROM and another ROM and finally when giving up choose a current 4.1.2 Rom for EE but that too is stuck at the same place.
Can you help me work out where I am or have been going wrong please?
The Phone is from Orange UK ( EE ) but there was no branding on it .
i also neglected to note the Rom that was on it
if you read the guides you will find out that you need to factory reset after flashing
Unfortunately as the phone is sitting at a glowing Samsung logo, I cannot factory reset. In fact I cannot do anything except keep throwing Roms at it, unless you have any other suggestions?

Another brick in the wall - this is what I tried so far

Hi everyone,
I have had Zeus 7.6 (GB based) for a long time, but the other day it started freezing a couple of times a day, and other weird things, so I thought: it's time to give ICS a go.
I then used SmartFlash Tool to install the latest official ICS for Spain... and there started my nightmare. Apparently the install went fine, but now every time the phone boots, I get the initial Android Install screen, which I can configure, but if I enter my google account, the phone goes crazy and I keep seeing warnings of processes crashing (even android.core or something like that). If I turn off my phone, and on again, it will get stuck in the LG logo. Then I remove battery, wait a while, turn on... and it boots again, but cannot do much.
I have tried doing hard reset using LG hidden menu, also from the Android settings did a reset, and everything seems to go well, but the 2nd time it boots, it always freezes in LG logo.
I have flashed Froyo, Gingerbread and ICS versions using smartflash tool, but no matter what, even when it seems to go ok, the version that always boots is ICS (after the software is upgraded, there is a reset of the phone, and LG logo again).
I have even tried recovery using the official LG mobile support tool.
Last thing I tried I read somewhere: I boot pressing Vol - and G button... and I only see a robot lying on the ground (scary!) with a warninig sign, can't get past it.
My guess is that something is corrupt, but I don't know how to do a full wipe without being able to go to recovery.
Can you suggest anything else to try? I'm really lost here and wouldn't want to be forced to buy a new phone yet!
Thanks so much in advance
If you have cwm backup of your 2.2 or 2.3 then you can try one more thing....install cwm patched 2.3 with sft and when it completes flash it will take you to cwm ...now directly restore your old cwm backup

If it still is zeus, simply keep pressing g key during boot and you should be able to get into recovery. Or is it always ics, that boots?
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
Yes, it's ICS (Spain version) that boots. I had it flashed after Zeus, and now no matter which ROM I flash, I have that ICS version (the flashing always goes fine, but when the phone reboots it hangs at LG logo)
Still trying to find a way to revive my little OB...
Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

It happens when you flash ICS....for me when I went back to 2.2 or 2.3 it failed to detect my internal memory....but as I always do a android backup. ...I flashed patched 2.3 and did a restore of my backup and my phone was all working again...that is why I suggested to use a backup if you have.

Not even this method worked? This is usually my "safety procedure", I always keep a v20s patched with CWM on my PC, to flash with SFT when something goes wrong. Then, when it ends, the phone reboots in recovery...

[Q] Return to Official Firmware

I rooted and installed CWM and Cyanogen 10.1.3 on by brothers Note, GT-N7000. He didnt enjoy it as some unexpected errors were coming up sometimes. Luckily i found the official Rom 4.1.2 N7000DDLSC_INU.zip through sammobile. Now My questions are:-
1. What must i do to completely remove cyanogenmod and clock work recovery.
2. Do i need some additional files like, kernel or bootloader or phone or csc (or will just all this zip to pda will install it)
3. What else should i take care of?
Please advice i want to completely return to official state
nothing much.. just the rom file you downloaded in tar.md5 format. Boot into recovery and factory reset the phone. then boot into download mode and flash the new rom..
But will that remove clock work mod.?
And will my device get recognised in kies?
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda app-developers app
Yes
Now there's another panga. The phone received the files properly fine through doing but not installing after booting
Gets shut down at logo. This I tried it 2.
Sent from my GT-I9500 using xda app-developers app
Kindly elaborate... Did you factory reset prior to using Odin?
Ok.
I went into cwm.
1 I factory reset. Wiped the data
2 wiped catche
3 wiped dalvic catche
4 went into download mode
5 with Odin 1.85 recognised device installed official rom.
The progress was shown in both phone and Odin. Factoryfs, kernel, hidden and catche shown to be successfully copied.
Only the auto reboot was selected
After device restated it shouted the Samsung logo. Without triangle
I thought it was a success.
Then I saw green Android logo with install process which seemed to have successfully completed on the phone.
but then just as the Samsung and a ring revolving screen came up, insured of booting up the device got shut down.
I thought it will reboot ok but it didn't. I tried restating several times but it kept getting shutdown.
I then flashed the official firmware again but this time after Odin transferred all the files on the phone, the green android logo is not able to complete the installation in the middle of it the phone is restating showing the battery charging logo, then the green bot trying to install then again it restarts.
To sum up
I note

Not sure if you have any other strong reason to go back to pure stock. Otherwise the easiest way is to install a stock base custom rom using PhilZ kernel and rom.zip. Sweet rom 10.5 is very good. Fast and stable.
Install purestock rom via odin is a pain and can cause lots of problems due to poor cable connection.

Did you have enough battery before flashing? Power off the phone.. Then connect it to ac charger for couple of hours and then remove the charger and start the phone.
I do believe I had more than 80%on the 1st attempt but I can't say that about this morning.
Any ways I did put it on charge today. Nearly two hours. Since it was looping on the battery and installation thing I put it on download mode. But now after removing from download mode is not even starting on download mode. I feel is further damaged. Any other software to interact with the phone or any other options I might have left

If it is not the batery then software does not help. There is a tool name usb jig which can help put phone to DL mode.
