CM12 screenshots? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Read something about this, but can't find it now, get a " not enough space" error trying to take a screenshot. Validus ROM.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2

Does the error say something like "can't take screenshot due to limited storage space, or because the app doesn't allow it."? If so, then it is likely the app whatever app you are using that is blocking it. Netflix, bank apps, and some other apps do this.

Echoing above, you get a generic message like this if for example, you're screenshoting an app that wishes to block the feature. However if you used MTP or adb to copy your /sdcard data back to your phone via recovery, you'll have screwed up your permissions. DO NOT fix permissions via recovery. Test the screenshot folder to see if you can create new files using a file manager. If not, I'll link you to a flash able zip that will fix your sdcard for you.

You can get it from section 2 of my old N 5 thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/sdcard-problems-upgrading-android-t2938749
If you can't download it via android, you'll need to use MTP (or adb push) in recovery probably.

[TOOL] 1Click_CWR

I have made a small utility that will install CWR on the LG thrill. Untested on the optimus 3D....
Thanks to designgears for outlining the original procedure in this tread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257588
WARNING:
Your warranty is now void.
I take no responsibility for bricked, dead, or unresponsive phones. If you are uncomfortable using this tool, then DON'T. Furthermore, I created this utility for my phone, and decided to share it with the community.
This utility was coded in c# in a windows 7 environment. I can only speak to this working on windows 7. If it works on XP, great; but I only tested it on my windows 7 system. Confirmed working in XP by: gentzleon
Before you begin:
Phone must be rooted!!! Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1251663
Must have an SD card in the phone.(This is used for the storage of the recovery backup)
Drivers MUST be installed! ( Direct Link: Here)
Instructions:
1). Plug phone into computer via USB cable.
2). Turn on USB Debugging mode
3). Launch 1click_CRW with admin privilages (right click->run as Administrator)
4). Enjoy
Notice
Because people have different computer speeds and the fact I wrote this in 10 minutes, there is a pause between each command. Just click 'ok' when the popup messages says waiting.....Its fool proof.
ALSO: I did not put any error checking in it because I did not feel the need. I created this for fun and decided to share it.
If you see an error from ADB like no devices found, make sure your drivers are installed and restart the computer.

Sure no prob at all.
This installed cwr just fine but when i try to make a backup or install a new rom it says error cannot mount sd card does anyone know y this would happen
Freaking sweet. I was hoping to find something easier to do this with that having to go through the other method to flash GB Roms. That is what this is for right?
All those having problems installing, make sure all your permissions to /data are checked-(all 9) if not you will not be able to install recovery...
To set permissions you must;
Have root explorer or the free app ES file explorer.
---Navigate to /data and press and hold
---Select properties
---you will see at the bottome where it says permissions an option to change
--- Select change and make sure all are checked.,
---click out, reboot phone and it should all work..
There have been instances where the folder will change back permissions or not save the new permissions so just perform it again... Enjoy the 1 click CWM Now If this could be included in the script it will make it fool proof.....

I think I may change this app and create it in a windows form...I will have a button that follows the same procedure as it does now, and a second button to fix permissions..However, should I have it apply the permission change to the entire /data? Seems unsafe to me, but I'm paranoid.
Also, work has been long, and my wife and I are in the final process of buying a new house. So that is why I haven't been on much.
Figured it out thanks for this tool

Downgrading 4.2.2 AOSP to 4.1.2 Sense

MAKE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF INTERNAL STORAGE BEFORE YOU TRY THIS. IT WORKED FOR ME, BUT YOUR RESULTS MAY VARY!
I did not make this file, it was made for the Note 2, unfortunately I can't find the original thread for it. I had assumed it would not work for us, because the Note 2 had an actual SD card slot, and our phone does not. Anyway, I just tried it and sure enough, it does work perfectly.
If you decide you want to flash back to a 4.1.2 Sense rom from a 4.2.2 AOSP rom go ahead and wipe your phone like you normally would, flash the rom of your choosing, and then flash this file before you reboot. Only thing you'll have left after you reboot the phone, is the "0" folder. But it's empty since it moved all your files back to where they should be. Make sure you delete that "0" folder after the reboot. When I rebooted to TWRP after setting up, it appeared I had nothing on internal storage because it was still reading the "0" folder.
I'm very happy that this file actually works so now I can play with all the roms I want without the headache.
Me or the original creator of this file are not responsible for what you chose to do with your phone! That said it worked for me, and it SHOULD work for you.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for taking the leap and trying this out and then sharing.

Worked like a charm. Thanks! :good:
Thanks OP, worked perfectly for me as well.
For anyone who didn’t know about this problem before flashing a 4.2.2 ROM (like me!), and doesn’t have a back-up of their internal SD, I found one way to retrieve it. Although there was nothing too terribly important on it, I experimented with ADB while in recovery and found that I could pull a copy of the entire internal SD with one command. For anyone else who finds themselves in this position and wants to try it, the command I used is:
Code:
adb pull /sdcard/ c:\sdcard\
This is probably dirt simple for most folks here, but I had to try a few times before figuring out how to do it without it simply dumping ALL the files right into my tools folder! That will work, but it can be a mess to sort out. The command above will create a folder in the root directory of your PC named sdcard and very neatly plop all the files in the correct place. You can change the destination to suit your needs, of course, but the above worked for me.
Tried it from the q/a thread. Works great dude, thanks a lot.
Awesome! Will try this today, thanks for sharing.

While in Tranquil, use Total Commander or Root Explorer file explorer to delete the 0 directory. This will break the symlink and TWRP will look at the right directory after that.

I added a few lines to the "updater-script" so that it would delete the "0" folder (as failsafe, in case .sh script didn't delete it) but I need someone to test it. I only added two lines to the actual updater script file so it "should" work. Someone PM me and I'll send you the link.

I just tested and uploaded a corrected version. I flashed it successfully via my recovery (TWRP) and verified that it deletes the "/data/media/0" folder. Let me know if you have any problems with the new zip. For the people who downloaded this previously, you will need to re-download. My bad on the silly error. :silly:

I should start doing this before every flash. because last night I tried a 4.2.2 rom that didn't boot up and when I went into recovery TWRP was reading from the /0 directory and I didn't have any backup roms to reflash.... so I got worried that I was going to lose all my sdcard data and RUU restore my phone
so if youre phone ever gets stuck with no rom in your directory to flash and you have a working ADB. just move the rom to your ADB directory and type: adb push nameofrom.zip /sdcard/ while in TWRP. once its done pushing the file will show up when you go through the install directory and if you're going back to a 4.1.2 rom make sure you push the restore-sd.zip. I think it's time to invest in an USB-OTG flash drive as a security blanket.
wasn't sure if this method was covered before but just in case things f up.

NO CWM backups?

hey everyone well i was having some problem with my htc one root that it went away sometimes but after flashing 1.65 its fine but before that i had some backups of the cwm but i cant find them on my phone. In my s4 they are always on cwm folder and then backups but cant find on htc one.

thanks
Pretty sure they're in /data/media/clockworkmod/backup - they can't be seen by a PC so you have to use a file manager on the phone to move them to the PC-readable part of your memory
Thanks for the reply bro but i can find it.Nothing in that folder or anywhere else. Are my backups corrupt or something?

Yes, I am always saving files to my sd card including OTG. I don't believe I have used ADB or MTP to copy data back to the device, as I always use TWRP or tibu for app data. I have reflashed my phone a few times to the factory image only.

Sounds like the permissions on that folder is screwed. Typically this happens when data is copied back to sdcard when booted into recovery...
It can usually be fixed by flashing this zip in recovery. I would recommend backing up your data first though.

I have flashed Official rom via fastboot, unlocked bootloader and installed many other roms ,also tried 4.4.4 and 5.1 but problems not solved. I think my be TWRP backup off clean official rom will solve my problem. THANKS
It's in data media 0 twrp that is zero

Ever since JellyBean 4.2 with the advent of multi-user the backups go into the /data/media/0/TWRP/Backups by default.

Thank you for posting this, I was wondering where the TWRP backups were going.
I noticed this when I first unlocked my Turbo as well, however I no longer have this problem and I have no idea what I did to solve it.
However, I always make backups onto my USB OTG flashdrive, so it wouldn't be much of a problem (at least for me).
