Just did a twrp nandroid.
Twrp sees the file but I cannot for the life of me find the file in es file explorer.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Or the file location?

Go to the twrp file manager, move the backup file to the root of your sdcard, reboot and it you will be able to see it in es and from your computer.
/sdcard/TWRP/backups
On a separate issue... On my device I can see my TWRP folder is there, but when I tap on it I get a message that the folder doesn't exist.

Ever since JellyBean 4.2 with the advent of multi-user the backups go into the /data/media/0/TWRP/Backups by default.

Thanks. I was able to drop my ui.zip in there to re-theme TWRP.
If you are having trouble finding your nandroids remember to enable root explorer permissions in estrongs.

Hi, can you upload to any cloudstorage the STOCK original TWRP backup of xt1254 ?
I have many problems with my phone such as random rebooting ,problems with unlocking lockscreen, dialer truoblshots and others. I have flashed Official rom via fastboot, unlocked bootloader and installed many other roms ,also tried 4.4.4 and 5.1 but problems not solved. I think my be TWRP backup off clean official rom will solve my problem. THANKS
It's in data media 0 twrp that is zero

Thank you for posting this, I was wondering where the TWRP backups were going.
I noticed this when I first unlocked my Turbo as well, however I no longer have this problem and I have no idea what I did to solve it.
However, I always make backups onto my USB OTG flashdrive, so it wouldn't be much of a problem (at least for me).

I formatted my internal and external sdcards today by mistake, now my download folders are gone, I was tolded this is normal since formatted deletes all data on card which is why my download folder is gone. I've tired downloading rom and modded recovery all day but I cant find them in root exploror anywheres, than I Google a random picuture and tried to save the picture but the download was uncuccessful. Can I fix this?

It sounds like this should be fixable, but could you please provide more information on your current setup (Android version, if it's a custom ROM, etc).
As far as getting ROMs and CWM to your phone, you may want to try downloading the roms/modded recovery on a PC (if one is available), then move them over to your phone. If everything was formatted and you're having trouble using root explorer, it might just be easier to do it that way.
Before today my phone was fine, it displayed downloads that I've done etc. I was trying to install a downloaded rom thru cwm but it didn't display "install from sdcard" with in cwm. I than clicked format sdcard for some dumb reason and It put me in my current state.

I see that you're on your phone now, which answers the question of whether or not you can boot, so that's good. If you've formatted your Internal SD card (which it sounds like you did - did it get rid of all your files on the phone?), you could probably just do a Titanium backup of what you still have and reinstall your ROM (assuming you're on a custom rom). That would likely correct the issue.

Assuming that it wasn't deleted in the format, I'd recommend reflashing whatever rom you're on and restoring your apps from Tibu.
the tibu backup is no more it would have been deleted when he formatted. look in your browsers settings for the default download directory. or make a folder on your sdcard called downloads and set it to there as default....

Yep, my back up is gone. I went to the download directory and all downloads in there say download unsuccessful, I than went to sdcard in root exploror and created a folder named download. I tried saving a few Google pics and they still come up download unsuccessful, I even tried downloading a file from xda and its not in my new download folder. I didn't set it as default since I don't know how to set it, I didn't see any options. Getting very frustrated.

That appeared to work, I saved a random picture and it was saved in my new download folder. But when I try and download the modded e3 signature file (which is what I've been trying to do) I see a quick download meter start and finish, after its done I can select close or open, if I click open I'm brought to rom manager with an install prompt were I can select or de-select a few things, than I'm put into recovery but it dkesnt show any place to install from sdcard. When I had to do this on my infuse once I downloaded the modded recovery it was listed in my downloads, id extract, copy and paste over original recovery but I don't see it anywhere in my captivates files.

Hmm It should be in the download directory...
You could always dl the recovery file to your pc and copy it over to the phone.

If the phone isn't showing up in any way when you hook it up to the computer (i.e. you can't select to mount the phone from the notification drop-down), that would be your option.

You're pasting in the modded 3e recovery I assume, that's in a place usually mounted read only. Using root explorer, there is a little button on the top right that says mount r/w press that THEN paste in.

I am trying to restore a twrp backup that I made, but when I go to twrp and click restore I get a black screen where it should show me the backup file, yet I can navigate via the pc to phones internal storage to TWRP/BACKUPS/2013-06-19--12-07-12/ and all the win files and md5 files are in that folder, tried making that folder into a zip and flashing like you would a normal rom install but it just fails. Please help folks!

Sure I just figured it was me being stupid and most people would know!, for some reason, twrp was only reading the sdcard but the backup was actually stored in /data/media/twrp/backups (no idea why it started doing this, I actually have 2 HTC ones both being sent back to vodafone and never had this prob on the first unit), anyway, I downloaded a app called root explored which enabled me to copy the backup file from data/media/twrp/backups to the sdcard/twrp/backups folder and then I could restore
I am sure there is a reason why I had this problem but I wouldn't have a clue as to why! But anyway that's how I solved it, I am sure there is an easier way tho!

It does this with 4.2.2 I think it sucks actually because if you want to copy a back up to/from your computer you have to use adb push or copy it over to your sd, then move it into /data/media
Just got my HTC1. rooted and flashed twrp 2601. back upped the stock rom. flashed venom and after getting it where I'd like, made a backup of that. now when i go to es explorer i can see my stock backup in the twrp folder but not the venom backup. when I go to twrp recovery, I can only see the venom backup but not the stock backup.
Any ideas on what the issue is?
There will be a backup folder in data/media and data/media/0, the folder in data/media needs to be merged with the other one.

That's due to the change in file structure between 4.1 and 4.2+
Don't know about TWRP, but for CWM recovery you can create a symlink, here's how: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991657
Though it seems the newer version of the recoveries have already been corrected.

Yah, it's because 4.2 added multi-user support.
So user data would be,
Data/media/0
Data/media/1
And so on...
I'm not sure about the option in twrp, I just formatted my SD and started fresh.

Yes, I am always saving files to my sd card including OTG. I don't believe I have used ADB or MTP to copy data back to the device, as I always use TWRP or tibu for app data. I have reflashed my phone a few times to the factory image only.
Would be decrypted create this?

Sounds like the permissions on that folder is screwed. Typically this happens when data is copied back to sdcard when booted into recovery...
It can usually be fixed by flashing this zip in recovery. I would recommend backing up your data first though.

Does the error say something like "can't take screenshot due to limited storage space, or because the app doesn't allow it."? If so, then it is likely the app whatever app you are using that is blocking it. Netflix, bank apps, and some other apps do this.
Echoing above, you get a generic message like this if for example, you're screenshoting an app that wishes to block the feature. However if you used MTP or adb to copy your /sdcard data back to your phone via recovery, you'll have screwed up your permissions. DO NOT fix permissions via recovery. Test the screenshot folder to see if you can create new files using a file manager. If not, I'll link you to a flash able zip that will fix your sdcard for you.
