I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5 and was working fine for a few days but all of sudden it rebooted and went through the boot screen and the logo of Samsung and then blue light comes on and black screen. I can no do anything but pull battery. I am able to get into recovery mode and bootloader mode but nothing else. Any help be appreciated.
Thanks
Soft-Brick Bootloop
I'm having the same problem as you currently, this is common for failure when modifying firmware with Odin. You can always try following instructions on how to un-brick your phone. Mine, unfortunately won't come out of this state, luckily, I haven't tripped any Knox warranty validations, as I was only installing a different firmware.

Last night I started messing with the S5, I used Odin to restore to stock, then took all the OTA updates all the way to the 4.4.4 one that came out recently and after that I debloated it and removed the att apps and such, everything was fine. I tried changing the boot animation but messed up somewhere along the way and it wouldn't show a boot animation at all but still booted and got to the main screen and functioned perfectly. I decided to start over and tried to use Odin to restore to stock 4.4.2 but after flashing the first screen comes on and says that it's custom and has the open lock symbol then shows a slow and laggy samsung boot animation before freezing at some point on the animation and the screen goes completely black but the blue LED light stays on and it does nothing after that. I have tried using Odin repeatedly and erasing everything through recovery and nothing works. Please, any help would be appreciated.
It has been fixed I believe, I flashed the G900A_OA1_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5 and it works again.
Where did you get the .tar.md5 file? I think I just bricked myself out of recovery mode
Hello! I am posting this because I have searched for hours on how to fix the phone with no luck, so this is a last resort. Im using a AT&T (sadly) galaxy s5. I was going to update to lollipop but couldn't since my device was rooted. I tried to unroot it by using supersu, but pulled the battery because it was taking forever (I know I know.) The phone at first booted to safestrap and I tried to factory reset to take off the root. Now, whenever I turn on my phone, it wold be at the samsung galaxy s5 screen with the little unlocked symbol. I tried to flash the stock firmware with odin. Didnt work. Now it boots (still says unlocked) and when the samsung animation finishes, it stays on a black screen. Any help at all? Thanks!
Try flashing the kernel from the root page
I feel the need to make this post as I have yet to find anyone else with the exact same issue as me, however here is the details:
I am running a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950U from AT&T
Rooted with SamFAIL one month ago without any issues.
Context:
Yesterday when I turned on my phone for no obvious reason it just got stuck into a boot loop (the one where it stays on the Samsung logo forever. Did the obvious steps with no effect.
Afterwards, I tried to follow the SamFAIL root guide from the start to end just to see if it would fix it (I was desperate). Everything went fine, however, when it booted up and whenever it does boot up it starts black then it flashes the recovery mode screen for half a second (I'd post an image, but I am not allowed to, just search up, "recovery mode note 8" and look at the images with the blue background and android mascot), displays some white text on the black screen for perhaps a second, goes black and repeats this. I am able to enter download mode and upload mode, but whenever I try booting into the actual phone this happens.
Strange problem huh? Any hope for me, or do I have a brick now? It's been looping this process for the past 20 minutes now. For now, my plan is to try flashing the stock firmware with Odin. (My internet is slow so it will likely take all day for that file to download.

Okay, that fixed that issue, however now my phone is doing the same thing again but getting stuck on the flashing Samsung logo screen. What now?
EDIT: NEVERMIND, EVERYTHING WORKS NOW. Thank you so much <3

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Active (SM-G890A) (AT&T) That I recently requested a sim unlock code for through AT&T. After I received the code, I inputted it upon the prompt, And after it accepted it, the phone froze and rebooted about 5 times or so, then got stuck on AT&T logo. I booted the phone into recovery mode and wiped the cache and factory resetted it. Now the phone just hangs immediately on the Samsung logo screen. I cannot boot into recovery mode, or safe mode. ODIN mode can still be accessed. Please note that the phone has never been rooted or had a custom ROM flashed on it. This phone has not had service for about a year now, So I cannot take it to AT&T. I wanted the phone unlocked so I could use it as a backup phone.
Same problem here, but mine seems stuck in bootloop, I'm trying some things for now, hope I can make it work again...

Similar problem here. But my screen stopped working too. I hear the Samsung logo sound. Sometimes the logo sound is completely played sometimes the phone seems to restart just in the middle of it. It seems to hang in a loop, its doing that as long as has battery and only stops as soon the blue light is out too. I can't shut it down with the keys.
There are a lot of photos on it. It would be nice to get them from the phone somehow.
Good afternoon folks, I'm having a very big problem. Yesterday I was using my phone listening to music, I then received a text message in a group text. I went to pull down the notification center but my touch screen wasn't responding. I thought it was a one off but tried to open my phone and nothing was responding to my touch. I then did a reset (vol dnw+power) which restarted the phone but still the touch screen was unresponsive. Reset phone again now here I am in the infinite boot loop. It starts to galaxy note 8 screen and stays for about 30 sec then goes to recovery mode but will lock up and restart this process over again. I've tried to manually boot into recovery mode but it doesn't work. I'm able to boot to download mode where I've tried flashing with stock firmware but after flashing is restart back to the boot loop. Note 8 hasn't been flashed with anything custom before so this thing is a big mystery for me. Any help would be greatful. Thanks in advance

Make sure you flash the correct firmware for your model. What is SM-950u1 anyway?? You should also use the latest Odin 3.13.1 or higher. Odin lower than that is giving problems with Oreo firmware. Good luck. LJ

Thanks for your input, sm-n950u1 is the model number according to sam mobile site for the firmware. But found out that phone was still under manu. warranty after registering it on samsungs website. So i shipped it off yesterday so they can get to the bottom of it
