My HTC One is connected and is sharing internet via usb tethering to my pc however it just shows that the network has no internet access even though it works on PC. I have android 4.3 custom Rom, but the correct driver is installed and windows 7 reecognizes the phone in network adapters.

I'm trying to set my laptop up to use the td2 to get a connection to the internet. can this be done either via bluetooth wiFi or USB. I have tried to add a bluetooth network connection but the laptop keeps giving an error saying could not connect to the remote device.
When I plug mine into my laptop via USB, I get an option on the device to 'internet share'. Does this not happen for you? I'm not sure whether Windows Mobile Device Center is also needed, but it may be!
I did this today using a Macbook. The USB did not work on the Mac but Bluetooth did. I had to connect to the phone from the computer using ordinary bluetooth first (without network). Then I had to choose Internet Connection on the phone using Bluetooth PAN - which I assume is Bluetooth network. Also had to select Bluetooth PAN on Macbook - was a bit fiddly but it worked. Anyway it does work with USB on the PC see post 16 of the thread here.
cheers both, i will check out the other thread but when I connect the phone via USB to this (work) laptop, I get nothing. My home one uses Vista and Mobile Device Centre, but my work one uses XP.
typically, after a reboot the phone gives of the option to shart internet sharing but the laptop wants to install a rndis connection, but the only way to do this is connect to internet. ironic.
Ok, finally have a proper Interenet connection and downloaded Activesync 4.5 from MS. This looks like it will resolve the situation.
i use the 5.0.5.3 rom and use internet tethering when conect to computer

Is your phone rooted?
As I do not know what it means I guess no.
Search the forum with the word "tethering".
You can check out PdaNet on the market it doesn't require root
free version dosn't allow https connections, but should work for basic browsing
Pdanet does not work. Can pair but then nothing.
This sucks
Even my f*cking winmo phone could do it...
But thx anyway!
Root, install CM, and get USB and WiFi tethering. Or just wait for 2.2, which will have it too.

Nexus one does require a driver for USB tethering to work (or so i've seen on froyo) (windows update, at least for win7, automatically detects it)
Hi all,
I am having a USB driver conflict with my n1. Basically, I installed the usb driver that comes with the SDK, and everything is working fine, i can use the adb command and all, except my Wifi dongle.
yes, as soon as i connect my nexus one to my pc, my wifi dongle stops working and cuts my internet access off.
in the network and sharing center, the adaptor is still connected and working but the internet access is cut off
ty for the help i have searched but no luck
Any idea anyone please?
Hi all,
I'm having issues with USB tethering with the new HTC One (T-Mobile). I'm running Windows XP Professional SP2 and Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
I installed the latest HTC Sync Manager (version 2.0.53.0) from the web, but I can't seem to get the "HTC remote NDIS device" to start. I see an error code in Windows device manager: This device cannot start. (Code 10). I can recognize the phone as a mass storage device and sync with the Sync Manager. I can also navigate the file system using Windows explorer.
I also applied the RNDIS hotfix for Windows (support.microsoft.com/kb/959765), but no luck. I needed this to get USB tethering to work with my Motorola Droid Bionic (also running Android 4.1.2 on Verizon).
Bluetooth tethering works as does tethering with PDANet. USB tethering also works fine on this computer with my Motorola Droid Bionic.
I called T-Mobile to confirm that they're not blocking tethering capability on their end. Anyone else seen this issue?
Thanks!
HTC won't support Windows XP SP2
I got a reply from HTC. In short, their RNDIS drivers were never tested with Windows XP SP2. And they don't ever plan on supporting SP2.
