I dont see a version for straight talk and not completely sure but dont think there is one for them.
Boost mobile and virgin mobile l90 is actually called lg volt its model is Ls740. Not sure as to rooting of the device its self, would imagine it may be similar just depends on how the carrier may lock it down, you should be able to search around and find details on rooting lg volt. Here's what i can find on lg volt as to rooting.
http://androidforums.com/threads/guide-rooting-the-lg-volt-ls740-lg-f90.853153/
In the US, the model for l90 is d415 carried by t-mobile and metro pcs There are other models d405,d400,d410 but those are mostly international carriers. Theres a guide to tell you in the lg ultimate thread, here's a link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2770938
You may be able to get the d415 and bring it over to straight talk, seen in some places people talking as how to do it, search around on google, that is if there isnt a model of l90 for straight talk but as you said you cant find one, i didnt find one either.
It's on walmart website . Search "lg Optimus " and the lg Optimus l90 pops up first search result ... It. $100 ... Which is a kick ass deal ! and it's by family mobile not straight talk (but. Still from Walmart ... Wierd ass branding and names smh ) but family mobile says it runs off the tmobile network ... So I think there's a good chance of it being the d415 simply $50 cheaper and In different packaging . the phones look exactly identical as well . I mean if the name says lg Optimus L90 .... If it walks like a duck and quacks like one then it must be one lol I'm hoping ... I just wanted a second verification . Thanks guys !

Heya all, well i just menage to finally buy a new g1 off ebay been trying for awhile now but finally got one for the right price but the thing is.. being new its locked to t-mobile now from what i have found there are only two way's of unlocking both are via unlock codes and from what I've read i can get it free from t-mobile but i also believe you have to of been a t-mobile customer for 2 months plus or something any you guys know if this is true?
The other option is to get one of these websites that give you unlock codes has anyone used these could you if possible tell me what sites are genuine and safe to use?
Another thing is there any other way's of unlocking the phone?? that i have missed? i haven't actually got it yet but its being posted as we speak..
Hope this is the right place to post this and cheers for you input ;D

T-mobile will give it free if your a longstanding customer. If you want to buy it, buy it from ebay. There is another thread in this section (actually more like 20, one of which has a link)
Yea they wont give you the code unless you have been a customer for 90 days or more. The site I used was http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com it took about 10 hours for the code to arrive, they have detailed instructions on how to register an ATT APN so you can do the initial google setup too. I think they offer codes in 2 hours now, but either way its a good site and I think its just over 20 bucks, like 22 or 23. I looked on ebay but it didn't have a good feel to it, for me anyway.
edit: One great thing about using it on att is that they wont know its a smartphone because its not in there system so you can use the $15/month dumb phone unlimited data plan and it works great, I have been using it for about 3 months now, only downside is att and tmobile use different 3G bands so it is impossible to get 3G with att.
Only use unlock sites who people here say they have used. Don't be fooled by some of them which are *very* cheap (as in, a quater or the cost of most), these will normally tell you *how* to unlock your phone (call t-mobile or buy a code, but they dont give you the code).
I bought my code of eBay, that way you can look at there feed back and you know that the testimonies on their flashy website aren't fake.
Cool cheers guys thought that'd be the case phone still hasn't arrived yet so until then...

Some unlocks can be done for free using a custom ROM flash. The operating system is only setup to bar off any non-TMobile sims, so do a flash, and bang, that SIM restriction should be gone.
I have never heard of any rom unlocking the phone, the carrier lock is much deeper in the phone, hence why you dont lose your unlock status when you switch rom's. I did a ton of searching before I unlocked my G1 and never saw anything like what you speak of, I had already rooted and flashed 3 or 4 different roms when my phone was still locked and it never made a difference, so could you please provide a link to this type of rom? And just so you know, in your sig you list phone OS's but what you are talking about is rom's as the only OS for the G1 is Android.

I don't think that's right either. I've heard quite a few people say that after rooting and flashing a non-tmo ROM their SIM was still locked...

He might be confused with something else because of all the smartphones I have had I've never heard a rom to unlock your sim/carrier. I wish there was though but if you think about it you would never be able to change your rom because you would lose the unlock status.
Who says WP7 isn't gonna sell, eh?

Sadly for Koreans, the version of the Note sold over there, well, frankly sucks. (No offence...) It's a prime example of why NO ONE, should EVER buy a carrier locked/subsidized device, even though it's cheaper up front; your **** get's locked down, features don't work, and not everything is what you'd expect as a customer. Not to mention, bye-bye unlimited data...
Anyway, getting back on topic. The Korean Note, as I understand it, uses a Qualcomm chipset, so possibly try using root methods for another device with a similar chipset? Maybe you could try the rooting method for an AT&T LTE Galaxy S2 (Skyrocket)?
Good luck!
P.S. In the future, boycott carrier subsidized devices. Buy unlocked. Buying subsidized devices just gives carriers more power over consumer choices, and thus more power to regulate what people can/can't buy, and what they can/can't do with their devices.
I am in exactly the same situation and havent had any luck with rooting mine either, any help is appreciated.
yes i wish i had not impulse bought this device and looked into it a bit more and got the n7000 instead
You can try, a method t hav mentioned in How to Root + CWM in my signature
In 16 nov edit section of that post i hav edited new method yesterday call unlockroot.exe, you may try it, i hav read it can root SHV 110, 120S, 120L, but am not sure about your device.
Gave that one a shot sadly no luck

I said "locked/subsidized."
If you bought your device to work with a particular carrier over there, and/or received it at a discounted price as part of an agreement with your carrier, or if it is in any way carrier branded, then it is subsidized, whether locked or not.

Oh I see.
Well I did in fact get a Note that is branded. I really only worried about it being unlocked.
In your opinion, what would be the best way to find out?
The seller at the shop didnt seem to know much about that and language was also an issue

Easiest way to tell is to see if the SIM card from a different carrier works.

Does anyone have any links or info on the Korean sites that possibly show the Korean model being rooted?
Its hard to believe the Korean version isnt able to be rooted yet by someone considering the amount of Notes sold in Korea as well as it being one the top leading computer using countries
Anyone out there with any root info for korean note?????? No root sucks
make it work on 3g simcard
is there anyway to make this model work on 3g network? 4g blows and no unlimited data.
Shouldnt I be able to root the Korean Note, IfF i download the Korean Note driver from the Korean webpage and use the most up to date SuperOneClick version????
Hi... same problem here... I am also looking forward to root my korean galaxy note. And as far as I know... it is NOT possible right now. So ... let`s just have a cup of tea and wait...
yeah guess we will need to wait
For those of us living in Korea, the most reliable way to root the Samsung family of devices is to flash a custom kernel that allows root. The boot-loader is not locked so it is only a matter of finding a trusted source.
That being said, Tegrak has been very reliable since support from the original Galaxy S thru SII and now international version of the note. I've read his site (in Korean) and he has a placeholder for the Korean versions of the note (SHV-E160S, SHV-E160K, SHV-E160L). The page says that he needs someone to send him a copy of the original firmware so that he can modify it with his additions prior to posting it for general download.
I don't have a note currently (although I am now considering one). If anyone would like to get this rolling, please contact him at [email protected]. He speaks fluent Korean & English so communication shouldn't be an issue. I know he supports over a dozen phone models currently. He posts updated kernels every time a supported model receives a firmware update. I don't imagine he owns over a dozen phones so I have to assume [we] help him by submitting source firmware that he mods and publishes.
---EDIT---
Tegrak just posted kernels for all 3 Korean Galaxy Note versions today here.
Find your version, download follow installation instructions. Download and install Tegrak Kernel (free / donate) and root your device. Kernel also has other features that voodoo sound support (Voodoo Control: free / donate) and overclock support (Tegrak Overclock: free / donate).
*** I recommend downloading free version first. Ensure it operates for you, then SUPPORT TEGRAK by BUYING THE DONATE VERSION. Gotta keep our developer pals hooked up on their supply of coke-zero!
Thanks Wapu!!!!!!!! Has anyone successfully tried it??
Thanks thT method worled perfectly. Is voodoo sound supposed to work? I couldnt get that to work.

Mt bad I didn't realize there was a difference between the i9305 and gt9305 sorry
No difference between them, but big difference between GT-I9305 and the American models (model numbers beginning with SCH or SGH). If you have an I9305, there is no way to flash it to a CDMA/3GPP2 network, such as Sprint or Cricket, as it's a GSM/3GPP phone. (3GPP and 3GPP2 are rival standards bodies, making deliberately incompatible standards.) CDMA requires completely different hardware from GSM.
If you have a Sprint or Verizon Galaxy S3 (both CDMA models), you can flash them to Cricket, but you should ask in the Sprint or Verizon forums, as we are not familiar with the CDMA Galaxy S3 versions.

Call Sprint (or whatever telecoms company you plan to use).
If the phone is not registered as stolen, then no problems.
If the phone is stolen, then report it to the police and eBay. You should get your money back via eBay and the thief will get nicked. It will stop the thief from selling anymore stolen phones via eBay - thus you are helping others.
I don't have insurance on my phone, so if it got stolen it would be at great expense to me. Also I have tracking software on mine, so I would be hunting the thief down.

Hello. I've tried so many search terms. Thank you for anyone who reads this and accepts me into the clan of knowledge. I have been using Page Plus Cellular with an iPhone and could talk and data at the same time. I hate Apple and decided to move into an LG V40thin. I absolutely love it. Page Plus Cellular is an MNVO on Verizons towers. The LG has no Verizon software so I assume this is some kind of universal firmware. For whatever reason I cannot talk and data at the same time. This phone is supposed to support VoLTE but when I go into the Advanced Calling section, it says "HD Voice" which is Verizons branding for VoLTE. The Advanced Calling option is completely greyed out. I also had received a text from PPC saying my phone doesn't support VoLTE and I may have issues receiving calls if I didn't upgrade.
Is there anyway to find out what is really going on? I only found one single search result that seemed to say an LG V40 that there were two models, one for Sprint and one for Verizon and if you had the Sprint, then unlocked it, it would work on Verizon but not fully since the hardware wasn't all there since Sprint uses different frequencies (radios).
I have no idea how to tell the origins of the phone, model, firmware etc. I bought it used. If the hardware is just not what is needed for Verizon, I don't know how I would look for one that was. The LG V40 is amazing. Top notch. The other cool thing about it is with the Verizon Note 3, when i tethered I got a message that I didn't subscribe to tethering and had to use PDAnet. With this phone, tethering just works.
Help. I appreciate it.

I don't know I never have tried to talk and text at the same time. If it is a V405UA, you can unlock the bootloader and then install either V405UA or V405QA firware with LGUP. Hope this helps.:good:
Not sure if this helps, but: https://www.reddit.com/r/lgv40/comments/eqymrm/lmv405ua_on_verizon_whats_the_deal_with_cdma/
Where did you get the V40? I am not sure about one post on the models, because I have a V40 bought from Verizon and it's a LM-V405UA.
I'm thinking about buying the V405UAB. Right now though I can hotspot without Verizon telling me I have to pay for it. If I got the UAB, is there a universal image like I have now that could be installed safely? Who makes the images and is it safe? It seems like it would be easy to sneak in big brother code to steal your information. I'm very new to modifications so please don't take offense. Hoping someone has the knowledge to point me to an image and knows its safe.
