Data:
HTC One M7
Old Rom: Revolution HD 30
Recovery: Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.0.1
Hi, simple as this; I have a Htc One M7, installed Revolution HD 30, long time ago, today I decided to upgrade it. Downloaded Revolution HD 90.
Upload the file to the storage of the phone... Enter recovery, install the pack. After that I couldnt continue I keep getting Recovery Mode loop, including after doing stuff etc.
I was tired of trying so I did a factory mode, so I erased everything. Now Im stuck at Recovery Mode, without a ROM in the phone. I have "Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.0.1"
It doesnt have an option to load Usb Storage... (so I can upload a new rom) Im screw up?
What can I do? I only found this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636503) on the forum, the files to download are corrupted, and I actually dont know if that works for me.
What can I do? Do I have a solution? Im really scared...
Thanks in advice.

your recovery is too old, you need at least TWRP 2.6.3.3 for the rom you are trying to flash, so flash that first, theres no need to panic, its easy to fix, after that just push the rom to your internal sdcard and install it.

I take it you didn't load up the original TWRP then.
Download my adb and fastboot files below and extract the zip to your desktop for ease.
get TWRP 2.6.3.3 from here, for ease rename it to recovery and the place it in the same folder as the adb and fastboot files that you just downloaded. (TWRP site down at the mo)
Then open a command prompt within that window by holding down control - shift - right mouse click in any area of that window and select open command window here (leave this window open all the time)
with your phone plugged into the computer and your phone on the bootloader screen and saying fastbootUSB type these commands
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
after you've done that, you want to enter recovery, main screen only, still with your phone plugged in and put the rom.zip file in the same folder as adb and fastboot on your computer, with the command window still open type:
adb push name-of-rom.zip /sdcard/
Click to collapse
take between 5 and 10 mins to push and will look like its doing nothing, it will let yo9u know when its done though.
unplug your phone when its done and flash your rom

This should have been posted in the General section, not the Development section.
If you can boot the phone into HBOOT, then you can flash a new recovery image in FASTBOOT USB mode.
If you have more questions post in the GENERAL section after you have searched.
- Problem is, that when I try to flash anything it's loading it (I can see green uploading animation in HTC) but it isn't writing it (I can see quick red uploading animation) and nothing happens afterwards...
Could you recommend particular recovery image please ? I'm very tight on time.
hey ive had this happen to me before when i first started. the way i solved my problem was boot into fastboot and run the ruu it will restore everything to stock then run revolutionary to get s-off and flash cwm. then download 4ext recovery and in the app u can flash it straight over the top of cwm
heres the link to find your ruu

try reverting to Stock.)

This will not work. This is how the OP just into the situation he is in. The RUU will not successfully install because he has the Revolutionary S-OFF HBOOT on his phone and the RUU is not able to overwrite with the HBOOT from the RUU.

I tried your RUU yesterday late night but it won't work. Only way I know to do it is to rename it to PG32IMG.zip and have it autoloaded by unlit. But it let's loaded (green loading animation) and than red loading animation which finishes but dissent make any changes I will try to find stock Rom (stock recovery?) With exe and try to flash it from console via windows. I would be happy if you could advise which file to flash as I travel and can access only wiz gprs on other phone which cost me dear and I can't really see anything I wouldn't mind to also format everything including memory where cwm or 4ext sits if its possible. I'm sorry to ask for that but will appreciate links if someone done it before due to those restrictions of searching through roaming oon company phone. Thanks guys.

Have you installed the HTC drivers on your PC? If you have installed HTC Sync to get the HTC drivers installed, make sure that HTC Sync is not running in the background or System Tray.
Penguins method actually works, though he hasnt given in much detail. I know whats he saying exactly.

I had it enabled as well as fastboot disabled but now i don't even have a system. all i can do is to power into hboot. i cant get into recovery (that's where cwm and 4ext was sitting and it hangs everytime i try to access) nothing else. i had separate drivers for htc but i have installed and updated htc sync. will kill it everytime tries to run. i still cant get over this connection problem. RUU advised above have broken or payable links. the one i tried to install is from here: http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...igned_Raphael_52.58.25.30_1.11.25.01_Ship.exe
could someone be so kind and actually send me a link to the file that i need to insstall to finally got it moving?
i am at the moment so confused by searching thought topics i completely lost my point. please - be so kind and direct me to some downloadable link and to whatever i need to flash...
on another note - can I wipe everything somehow and than install from scratch ? (by everything i mean also the place where CWM is istting)

If that is the RUU you tried to install, no wonder you are having issues. That RUU is not for the IncS, so it is a wonder you can still even get into HBOOT.
Try this one:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0a...5AU_3805.06.03.03_M_release_199308_signed.exe
The problem seems to be coming from inability to connect/recognise my device in first place. I will try this suggested Rom today and let you know in few hours.
Logically thinking - what could go wrong with this phone ? I had CWM which I wanted to remove. I couldn't so I tried to install 4ext to overwrite it when I lost hope. this didn't work. Than I tried some "stock Rom" which came out to be dodgy and I'm in situation now. It's S-ON phone and all I can do is to get to hboot. But I am still cautious about this connercition error 260. I hope its because of wrong file I tried to use previously... But.... I will troy files suggested here. If that won't work - what will be next step ? Could I let's say try to download gingerbread and install it from .exe ? Would that fix it ?

How did you try to open it?
Copy it to your SD card and rename it PG32IMG.zip and the reboot into HBOOT and it should ask you to Update.

I tried to open zip to see what's inside. It didn't want to open zip file. I tried few times before to rename it to P32IMG and upload like that. My hboot detects it, loads it but nothing happens afterwards. I will try like that if the file is not corrupted. Did anyone checked it personally ? (this particular file)
Hi everyone,
I bricked my friend's One.
1. Phone is brand new & I went through the steps to Unlock Bootloader, flash TWRP, Rooted.
2. Then copied custom ROM to sdcard. & went back to Recovery to flash it but couldnt find it. (it showed the ROM.zip in Window Explorer when I plugged the phone in, but didnt show in the Recovery).
So, I decided to format data (thinking I'll just boot up the phone & copy the custom ROM.zip into the phone again).
However, after I formatted data, Recovery says no OS to boot.
When i boot the phone, i'm stuck on the HTC white screen.
I downloaded 3 RUU.exe files (2 asia & 1 euro, my phone is for Asian market) but they are all incorrect versions.
I'm using Hasoon tool to ADB sideload the custom ROM.zip, the screen appears: Starting ADB sideload feature... & it takes forever....
nothing moving...
Please advice & help.
Thank you

since you've not had the phone for so long, do you have knowledge of android phones?? Just make sure when chosing a rom, you chose correctly for your phone since all HTC One's aren't the same, there are many beginners guides in the forum so look around.
But, if you are confident
download a rom, put the rom in your adb folder.
boot phone into recovery and connect to PC then chose Advanced, then sideload
from adb folder, open cmd window (Shift and Right click -->Open command window here)
type - adb devices - A device should appear beginning with sideload (if a device doesn't appear, try another USB port, cable etc, and if still persist, uninstall HTC Drivers and software, reboot, then install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263822THESE)
now type - adb sideload rom.zip - then wait until it's complete
I think on cwm the rom should begin installing after sideload is completed, however if not, go to install, and chose sideload.zip in /sdcard/0/
and since you're s-on, you will have to flash boot.img manually, which is very easy to do.
open rom.zip, extract boot.img to adb folder
reboot phone into bootloader from ClockWorkMod (or hold vol down and power button together)
connect phone to PC, it should read fastboot usb
open a cmd window in adb folder (as before)
type - fastboot flash boot boot.img
now boot chose hboot and reboot
Hopefully that will work for you.

First you will need to get adb installed on your PC and connected to your phone. At that point run "fastboot getvar all" then others here can advice you of the proper rom or ruu for your device.

My One (M7) won't stop restarting and keeps boot looping repeatedly since I went from Renovate to Revolution HD 6.1 GE yesterday evening. I am able to get into the recovery, wipe data, erase cache, dalvik, etc. But no matter how many times I have freshly installed the zip file, wiped cache and dalvik, it keeps booting up only till the 'Welcome' Screen (of Google) and restarts itself without my even touching the phone.
I tried to even force shut the phone but it just won't shut down and automatically restarts itself with that familiar buzz of the One.
I know this phone has been bricked but never had this big of an issue switching between ROMs in the past, given the process of doing it is very straightforward (zip file download--erase/wipe data--cache--dalvik cache--restart).
For my phone's safety and not 'burn it out' by repeatedly restarting itself, I have currently kept the phone on the CWM recovery screen as I write.
I forgot to add that I even did factory reset three times
Any help or suggestions?

@clsA; Thanks for the link for TWRP. My issue right now is I cannot access the virtual SD and don't know how to transfer the TWRP zip from the comp to the One without having the computer recognizing it as USB. Does that make sense?
My system is Windows 8.1, and I tried reading up the forums here for the correct HTC driver for 8.1 without much insight into the correct driver.
@ Sahil: I appreciate your attempt at helping me, but sometimes seniors forget that they were juniors at some point. Saying something with emphasis doesn't exactly get the point across. I know I have to "Fix. driver. issues" but it's easier said than done when you are in a catch-22 where both recovery and the bootloader are accessible, but you cannot have the computer recognize your phone because...well, the driver is being recognized and yet not recognized. Let me explain. When I connect the phone to the computer, it briefly shows up as removable storage (with the "10 gb out of 25.2 available" page) but since it is constantly bootlooping, it doesn't stay long enough on the page for me to access it. To compound my frustration, in the boot loader, clicking on 'fastboot' immediately flashes the message that I mentioned previously (USB not recognized...). In short, I KNOW that my phone is in working condition, but I am stuck in a continuity of hurdles.
I am desperately trying to read right now and find the correct drivers for my HTC One (with Windows 8.1 compatibility)

windows 8.1 only has problems with the old 1.54 and 1.44 hboot .. the drivers work fine with hboot 1.55 and up.
Have you actually shut the phone off yet ?
hold the phone under a lamp and hold the power button and vol down and count to 60. let go of the power button and continue to hold vol down till you get to the bootloader. quickly hit power and volume down to shut off and hit power.
leave it off for a couple min then bootup again holding vol down.

boot phone in your actual recovery (cwm) with the twrp.zip file in your adb/fastboot folder, open a command prompt
Code:
adb push TWRP_2.6.3.3_m7.zip /sdcard/
then flash twrp.zip from cwm, clear cache and reboot the phone to twrp
then you'll be able to boot in twrp recovery and adb push and flash newer sense roms (i.e sense ARHD)

@ alray
I understand here that you are asking me to boot into the CWM recovery, correct? I can definitely do that. The next part of your instruction is a bit harder for me to follow. I sincerely apologize if I sound idiotic. I am trying to learn here so that if it happens again (or anyone suffers the same fate), I would know what to do or say. Kindly walk me through here.
I have the TRWP zip file. If I place/put it in the adb/fastboot folder, how do I run the command prompt without the computer flashing the USB message?
So, here is what I am gathering from your directions
a) Boot into recovery (?)
b) Connect the computer via cable and run the command prompt and the script (?) [Here won't the computer flash USB not recognized?)
Again, I am sorry again I am asking what might perhaps be stupid questions to you or other senior members. I appreciate everyone's efforts in helping me out here.

windows 8.1 driver fix
HTML Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
I repeat this is a REALLY DIRTY solution that may harm your system, personal data, hardware and/or cat.
Here are the steps:
0. Have a Linux or Windows LiveCD just in case something goes wrong
1. Download and extract files from attachment
2. Navigate to the folder corresponding to your system version (x86 = 32-bit, x64 = 64 bit)
3. Right-click franken-usb.bat and click "Run as Administrator"
5. Wait for it to finish and reboot the system. If everything went fine, you will boot your system successfully
6. Install ADB/Fastboot drivers just like on Windows 8
7. Connect your phone in Fastboot mode to your USB 2.0 port and check if it works
8. Enjoy and wait for official fix
How does it work:
It's not any kind of magic - it just replaces Windows 8.1's usbhub.sys and usbport.sys with Windows 8's ones.
Old files don't check for BOS descriptor so Fastboot can work.
Script updated - it should now actually copy the files but please double check if files were copied to C:\Windows\system32\Drivers!
Hope it helps you!
Regards!

Windows 8.1 doesn't play nice with hboot 1.44 and 1.54 for FASTBOOT connection (phone in bootloader mode). It should work fine using ADB (when your phone is booted in custom recovery or in the OS)
so you could try to fix your drivers with the info cIsA gave you and flash your recovery the ''standard'' way via fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery[B][COLOR="Red"].img[/COLOR][/B]
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
or
get rid of windows 8.1 and use a good OS (imo) like Windows 7, XP, Linux, or MacOs so you can connect your phone to you computer without issues
or
flash the recovery.zip from recovery. in this case you must copy the recovery.zip to your internal memory (/sdcard) using ADB:
open the folder where you have ADB/FASTBOOT in, hold left shift + right click a blank space in that folder, select ''start command prompt here''
then in the command prompt enter this command:
Code:
adb push TWRP_2.6.3.3_m7[B][COLOR="Red"].zip[/COLOR][/B] /sdcard/
then hit ''enter'' and wait for the file to transfer
when the transfer is completed, flash the zip file using cwm, erase cache and reboot in your new recovery, push a rom that doesn't require s-off (i.e arhd 71.1) using the same method:
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard/
then flash the rom and enjoy your phone
To make stuff easier download minimal adb and fastboot from the net. Copy the zip into the folder and do what the gut above said

So, I installed the TWRP using the method you mentioned, rebooted, deleted cache, and then again, 'push Android_Revolution_HD-One_71.1.zip /sdcard/'
How long was/is this supposed to take, being a gig file? In the cmd window, the cursor just blinks and nothing is happening (unlike installing TWRP when it installed in few seconds)

Firstly, I would like to thank EACH and EVERY senior member to itsber here who helped me through this crisis. It has been an eye opener for me, being a junior member. I managed to follow the steps outlined and restore my phone to its working condition with ARHD 71.1. THANKS A LOT!!!
Also, for those who are thinking of flashing ARHD 6.1 GPE on their One, make sure that your phone has S-off. That might have one reason why my phone went into a tailspin of automatic bootup and restarts. There might have been something else going on with that ROM as well. I am not sure. Repeated cleanup of cache and factory resets didn't help the cause earlier.
Anyways, I would like to make a small donation via Paypal to our community (especially for helping me out and showing us the ropes). If you can put up the link here, that would be nice.
Cheers everyone and happy flashing!:good::good::good:
Hi xda!
I recently got a HTC One from a friend, as my old phone was worn out. It turned out he had rooted it, tampered with it, the whole nine yards. I was not told he had rooted it, so I accepted a prompt asking me to update the phone to what I believe was 4.4.2, KitKat. I now realize that should not have been done. When the phone restarted it went to the HTC startup logo, into a kind of blue screen (not the BSOD), the Google logo flashed on the screen for 0.5 seconds, and then it got stuck on this weird blue/turqoise screen. Nothing happened.
I called my friend, he told me he rooted it etc., and that I should try a factory reset, and if that didn't work, complete reset (including the system folder wipe). That obviously didn't work, but I didn't know any better as I have never touched a rooted phone in my life, and I'm thus a complete noob when it comes to terminology, what steps to take and so on.
Now I have a phone with no OS, stuck at the HTC logo when I start it normally, and all I can do is boot up into bootloader. I can also access TWRP. I have installed HTC Sync on my laptop, but the phone is not detected properly (meaning, the "device connected" sound is played, and I can find "Android device" in device manager, but the HTC Sync can't find the phone) when connected through a USB. It is not the USB that came with the phone. I also installed Squabbi's HTC One toolkit, which basically is the one-click interface of pushing revone etc. to the phone. Problem is, "error, device not detected".
I've browsed around for a good six hours without any luck, other than that I've started to understand how this is all connected.
Phone is

S-ON
HBOOT 1.44.0000
RADIO-4A.14.3250.13
OpenDSP-v26.120.274.0202
eMMC-boot
I pray to the mighty tech gods of xda to help me out. I looked for similar threads, couldn't find any that were simple and similar enough for me to understand. I must admit I'm very keen to learn this, so if someone know of any place where basic terminology is explained, I'd really appreciate that. Other than that, a step by step instruction on how to proceed from this cluster**** would also be highly appreciated (what I need installed on my laptop, where I can find ROM's, what flashing means etc.).
Thank you in advance!

well a lot of the work seems to already be done
your unlocked / rooted which means you should have a custom recovery installed.
boot the phone by holding the power + volume down
this will bring up the bootloader. use the volume key to choose recovery aand hit the power button. when you boot into recovery come back and report the name and version of recovery. I.E. Teamwin recovery 2.5.0.0 or clockworkmod 6.0.3.1 ...I'll be here the next couple hrs

Version of TWRP is 2.5.0.0. Currently trying to re-install an OS. Need one that the current version of TWRP can flash to the phone, as flashing a new version of TWRP does not work. I have no preferences when it comes to OS's. A stock OS (is OS and ROM the same thing?) would be fine.
Also, found out that doing stuff on a Windows 7 laptop was easier than on my own Windows 8. The phone is at least detected on the Windows 7, which means I will be able to flash stuff to it through cmd, something I wasn't able to do from the Windows 8.

Well your going to need adb / fastboot on your PC
use mine here >> https://www.dropbox.com/s/0wzwt8843zx27nh/Fastboot.zip
and install the HTC Drivers here >> http://www.mediafire.com/download/j55vk6qbbr6250c/HTCDriver_4.8.0.002.exe
unzip that to c:\ so you have c:\fastboot in windows explorer
now inside the folder you shift + right click / command prompt here
now you have a command prompt window type
fastboot getvar all
and post the result here / minus your serial number and IMEI
then i can find you the correct recovery and rom for your phone

great your about done ...your phone will be android 4.3 when it finishes
don't take any updates to the OS
cmd said it sent the ROM to the phone. I was in the TWRP adb sideload on my phone when it was transferred. Then that was it. 100% on cmd. Phone shut down. Suddenly discovered I had to install on the phone. WAT. I do so, then wait until completion. I anxiously restart the phone. It's alive again!
