since you've not had the phone for so long, do you have knowledge of android phones?? Just make sure when chosing a rom, you chose correctly for your phone since all HTC One's aren't the same, there are many beginners guides in the forum so look around.
But, if you are confident
download a rom, put the rom in your adb folder.
boot phone into recovery and connect to PC then chose Advanced, then sideload
from adb folder, open cmd window (Shift and Right click -->Open command window here)
type - adb devices - A device should appear beginning with sideload (if a device doesn't appear, try another USB port, cable etc, and if still persist, uninstall HTC Drivers and software, reboot, then install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263822THESE)
now type - adb sideload rom.zip - then wait until it's complete
I think on cwm the rom should begin installing after sideload is completed, however if not, go to install, and chose sideload.zip in /sdcard/0/
and since you're s-on, you will have to flash boot.img manually, which is very easy to do.
open rom.zip, extract boot.img to adb folder
reboot phone into bootloader from ClockWorkMod (or hold vol down and power button together)
connect phone to PC, it should read fastboot usb
open a cmd window in adb folder (as before)
type - fastboot flash boot boot.img
now boot chose hboot and reboot
Hopefully that will work for you.

First you will need to get adb installed on your PC and connected to your phone. At that point run "fastboot getvar all" then others here can advice you of the proper rom or ruu for your device.

Download this backup, this is your stock rom (CWM nandroid)
save it to your adb/fastboot folder
then in cwm adb push it to /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
and restore from the backup

I need help with my Htc one 802w dual sim China unicom

Hi everyone!! I bought my htc one 802w China unicom version 1 month ago. After reading all the threats and documenting to do the Root, i did it. Now my phone is running and working fine with also google apps. My question is, now i want to update to the version 2.30.1402.1 but i can't, in Cwm say that is failed.
I read that i need to instal a nandroid backup, flash the stock recovery, lock the boot loader and then update via Ota, and root again the device.
Can someone help me, because i don´t know the commands to flash the stock recovery or where should i do it?
Thanks for the help!!

I live in this thread but i didn't find how to flash the stock recovery to the phone. If you can tell me how and the commands that i need to write i will really apreciate it. Thanks ^^
Is all written on first page. Including link to stock recovery. Why lie to me ? Read please.
Sent from my HTC 802w Dual Sim
I dont lie!! Im just new with Android system and i want to know how to do it. I download the link of stock recovery 4.2.1. Is something like m7-stock-802.img.
so should i do is fastboot flast recovery m7-stock-802w.img and then lock the bootloader (fastboot oem lock) , and instal the update from the phone?
My question is: This stock recovery file what i do with it. I copy it to the sd card and flash it trought the CMW? or i open the command window and do the fasboot flash stock recovery file?
What i want is to be able to do the update to the 2.30.1401.1
It's not because i dont read, it's because i dont understand very good how to do the things and im afraid to brick my phone.
Thanks i really appreciate your help.
Hope this helps:

Hi Yago,
I dont have your phone, I have the International One...but I think I can help you out.
If you phone works the same as the International One, and my old SensationXE and Desire before that then all you need is the recovery to be installed. You dont need to re-lock your bootloader. The steps I would do are:
1) Download the Stock Recovery (m7-stock-802w.img - if that is what it is called)
2) Switch off the phone and boot it into Bootloader (Power & Vol Down - if same as International)
3) Connect the phone to your computer with usb cable.
4) Open a command window in the folder where the Stock Recovery file is placed
5) Type the following: fastboot flash recovery m7-stock-802w.img (This will flash Stock Recovery to your phone)
6) Reboot phone
7) Try OTA update again
This should work for you, though you may need to reapply root afterwards or try a OTA Root Keeper app to preserve your root. If after the update you wanted to go back to CWM then you can follow steps 1-6 again but with the CWM Recovery file instead.
Hope this helps!
Thanks!! As soon as I arrive back home I will try to do it and later will post here with my result. Maybe like this works because I want to update always the phone. The only reason why I unlock the phone is because I live in china and here we don't have the google apps. So is really annoying be reading in my Chinese that is not very good. Really I appreciate the help. Againg thank you very much
I just came back home and I flash the stock recovery. I typed fastboot flash .... And rooted the phone. Then I download using the software updates and download to the phone the new version 2.30.1402.1. I proceed to install but when the phone reboot went to recovery ( say entering recovery) but didn't go into recovery. Then start again the phone without installing the new software version. I don't know what I did wrong or what I need to do. Also I tried to download the ota file from the Htc one 802w thread but when I went to CMW I couldn't installed.
Any suggestions??
I will really appreciate the help!!!
Have you tried to boot into Recovery from boot menu?
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes!! when i do the fastboot flash recovery m7-stock-recovery.img if i go to boot menú and from there to recovery doesn´t enter.
the thing is that i would like to be able to update the phone when i want.
Now i just when back to the cwm802w.img because from there i can go to recovery mode. In other thread i doewnload the OTA file 2.30.1402.1 but when i am trying to installed from the recovery it always fails or don´t find the file.
It´s really strange...
The stock recovery is for the 4.2.1 and now im on the 4.2.2. Maybe can be because of this and i need to find a stock recovery versión of the 4.2.2??
It sounds like the Stock Recovery image you have is not the correct one for ur phone. You should be able to go into Recovery from bootloader and see the warning triangle.
I would try to get another version of the recovery file from somewhere. Then it should work no problems.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
this is stock recovery for 2.25 OS. Since i don't know what is your OS version i assumed is 2.25. >>> http://d-h.st/dKR <<< flash with command : flash recovery recovery.img
This are the caracteristics of my phone.

I download the file that criss send to me and i flash it. Then the phone was like the first day. Until there good. Then i went to settings/about/software updates and download the version 2.30.1402.1. When i was downloaded i procees to installed.
the phone reboot and at the beggining shows a symbol like is updating and start installing, but in the middle a warning triangle appears and stay there. I need to hold power+volum down to restart the phone and nothing happend.
What i did is
1 download the stock revovery
2 reboot the phone into bootmode
3 flash the recovery image : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
4 reboot the phone
5 go to update the software
6 install the version 2.30.1402.1
Wait for 20 min and the warning triangle with exclamation symbol doesnt disapear
Should i lock the bootloader to do this?? Yesterday they told me that i dont need but who knows....
Ok, as silly as this sounds but keep rebooting you phone / updating it and it will do it eventually. There are quite a few people that have said the same thing and they said just keep trying and after the 6rh or 7th try it should work.

[Q] Bought a Bricked HTC One without previous history need help!!!

As the topic says, the phone was bought on ebay-Germany and when received, I found out that the phone was tampered with previously. Seller does not respond to my mail or willing to pay back. The phone is only 1month old with receipt.
So, decided to seek help here. I will appreciate any help to get this fone work. This is what I can say about the phone;
- When I press on the power, it boots directly into Team Win Recovery project V2.6.3.3. I tried to reboot it takes me into further steps that finally switch off the phone. All attempts to actually boot the phone yield no result.
- Again in Recovery, I tried to restore backup (if ever the was any) and it show successfully restore. But on reboot it then shows “no OS installed!”
- I tried connecting on my pc and the phone driver installation failed several time on all usb port on my laptop (I have only one pc, with win8 – my laptop). I decided to uninstalled the htc software and driver I used for my HTC 1X, then reinstalled again. Still the phone could not be recognized.
- On pressing power and vol., the following can be seen including IMEI (from show barcode);

you don't need to get the Token ID, your Bootloader says UNLOCKED
You should be able to use ADB commands trough TWRP recovery and you should also be able to mount your sd card via TWRP
Go to this link: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-rom-downloads/ and watch the video guide.
download your guru reset for your version (3.62.401.1) here: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_3-62-401-1-zip/
connect your phone to pc and boot in twrp recovery
mount your sd card
push the .zip file to your sd card
install the zip and reset your phone like in the video guide
are you using windows 8.1 or 8.0 bcause 8.1 have issue with fastboot drivers. Better to do all of this procedure on a win 8.0 or 7 pc.
Looks to me like no ROM on Phone
Hi and happy new year to you too....
After from what I read here it looks to me like there is no Rom installed on the phone.
The phone seems to be wiped therefore boots into recovery on Power On.
Can you access all features of Team Win recovery?
If yes try this:
You will need an OTG cable and a USB Storage for this!!!
Download a Custom Rom, I recommend SD Eragon v21
Put Rom onto your USB Storage plug USB Storage into OTG Cable and Cable into Phone.
Boot into Team Win Recovery
Select "Wipe"
Select "Format Data" type "yes" to continue
Making sure that we format the Phone properly again.
Go Back to Recovery Menu and select "Mount"
Tick "USB-OTG"
Go Back
Select "Install"
Find "usb-otg" on the list; if you cant see it select (Up a Level)
If you have found usb-otg select it and you will see Eragon21 Rom
Swipe to install and follow the prompts.
Once successfully installed reboot phone and hopefully it should work
Let us know how u r going

Hello there, i have a very similar problem on my side: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595552
I get to go back to TWRP Recovery who asks me a password everytime. I'm looking forward to get a OTG Cable to try all you told here. But without the password will I be able to do anything?
When TWRP asks you for password try to hit "cancel" and see what happens.
Are you able to get into Recovery once you hit cancel?

Thank you very much for the prompt reply to my post. I will be going out soon to get the OTG cable, then try if it works. Will post the result thereafter.
Meanwhile, I will first try the first solution with Guru Reset. Once again thank you.

Let us know how u r going [/QUOTE]
i got stuck 2 days ago, i used hansons toolkit in fastboot, and flashed stock recovery, relocked bootloader, and ran the RUU.. all fixed up...
then i unlocked the bootloader.. u might need to go htc dev to get the unlock bootloader
Hi,
I too am having a similar problem but my phone is frozen on the htc logo I can't turn it off i have to wait till it's dead, I can't enter recovery mode plus my laptop won't find the phone when it's connected.
I'm in a rite mess, I just formatted everything before I gave it to my son now I've ruined it for him
Finally, I am happy to announce the result of the solutions provide by Alray and MotoXoom.
First and foremost, my phone has been saved! This is thanks to Alray's Guru reset method proposed in post 2 and MotoXoom for the idea of using a OTG cable mentioned in post 3.
For those who may be facing a similar issue, this is what I did;
The Guru Reset method is very easy if the instruction on the video is follows keenly. Since my pc could not find my phone, I when on to buy an OTG flash drive from Conrad Berlin, also available on ebay.
Initially the flash was not recognised, I then formatted with fat32 and plung-in again to the phone. Voila! it worked. First of all hit on mount and click on usb otg , then click back and hit on install. The rest of the instruction can then be seen on the video on post 2 from Alray.
It is also worth mentioning that at the end of the installation Team win recovery should be reinstall as was deleted be the Guru reset software.
However, I still need further help on how to remove the “ Tampered” on the bootloader screen as well as how to get S-Off. I do not know how to go about this, since I do not have the Token-ID. Is the Token ID not necessary for this? I will appreciate further help. Once again thank you Alray.
N.B.: I still find it difficult to quote a post directly, how is this done?
Since over an hour I am not allow to post anymore and decided to edit the previous message in order to post a message.
I also do not understand this message " To prevent spam on the XDA forums, ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. After approximately 10 posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thank you for understanding!"
Worst case scenario: flash a RUU (of course one from the phone's region)
RUU will reinstall the whole phone's original rom but you will lose root (you will reroot it later)

Hi alray, I am using win 8.0.
I'm actually trying to use the solution you provided, but then, I am still face with some difficulties. I can't push the zip file into my phone directly without a OTG cable. Only possible with ADB Sideload, which is taking a little longer (over an hour and still on 35%)? Am I doing something wrong?
Moreover, I will like to know how to get the "Tampered“off the screen and change the “S-ON” to S-Off. But before then, first thing first; that is to boot the phone.
Accept my gratitude for the initial solution u provided. Thank you!

As the topic says, the phone was bought on ebay-Germany and when received, I found out that the phone was tampered with previously. Seller does not respond to my mail or willing to pay back. The phone is only 1month old with receipt.
So, decided to seek help here. I will appreciate any help to get this fone work. This is what I can say about the phone;
- On pressing power and vol., the following can be seen including IMEI (from show barcode);

This is all the informations I can provide as of now, since connection with pc has not been successful. I wonder how to get the Token ID if successful connection with pc occurs.
Please help me any way you can. Thank you and Happy new year

I need HELP, HTC One (M7wls) Sprint

Okay, first thing first. (INFO ON PHONE) I have a HTC One (M7wls) Sprint 36GB phone. Phone is ROOTED.
bootloader:
*** TAMPERED ***
*** UNLOCKED ***
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.55.0000
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-3.05.651.6
eMMC boot 2048MB
What can I access:
Fastboot
ADB Sideload
Recovery - I am using custom recovery - openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-m7wls
Now the problem is:
When I install a ROM. Every ROM that I use didn't fully complete installing. When it boot up, can't access home screen, like i can't even do nothing, If I'm not making any sense what I'm trying, basically I don't have no OS-install. And when I install a ROM and do the ADB sideload and install em I just can't get to the home screen , farthest I can go is the lockscreen, but then that don't even act right, as in either it don't want to slide up (by the way my screen work and digitizer) or its blank/black and I can even slide it up, or as i should say froze for about few sec, AND when i can slide up the lockscreen it goes to the white HTC logo screen and stays there about 45-60sec and Reboot over and over, until i go into either recovery or bootloader and power it down.
ROMs that I've downloaded and install but don't completely works:
- Android_Revolution_HD-One_51.0
- One_4.19.401.8_odexed
- Sprint_HTC_One_1.29.651.10_Stock_Odexed_05.17.13
- Sprint_HTC_One_Stock_Rooted_Odexed_3.05.651.6
- viperROM_One_v1.0.4
What I'm saying is that, for example of What I do to install:
-Boot in Recovery
-Format Data (so i can mount data)
-Erase cache
-Reboot recovery (so the updating partition data can refresh)
-Access ADB Sideload
-Install a ROM (once complete) i reboot the phone
-After all the boot up LOGOs, WHEN I get to the lockscreen it either , 1. don't want to slide up, 2. when do slide up goes to white HTC logo screen get stays about 60sec, then Reboot itself , and 3. Just done want to boot up
Also have Tried RUUs: and Yes I unzip to run the Ruu.exe
- Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_3_04_651_2_RUU.zip
- Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_1.29.651.10_RUU.zip
Also and Yes I re-lock my bootloader to run the RUU , still doesn't happen
I'm not sure which one have this problem, but one of em, Do go through the process and once I get to the part to update Image (I realized my phone image is newer than the RUU image) so i proceed anyways, then it comes to a screen where it say ERROR find the latest Update for RUU. THE second one of em , once i run the program and pop-up screen comes where you accept the terms & conditions, once I do accept it; It closes OUT by itself.
I'VE DONE THE BEST I CAN DO , and I'm very frustrated right now. I've look and look and research, But nothing solve my problem, and I APOLOGIZE FOR THIS LONG ARTICLE/QUESTION. But I'm asking for anyone help who can help me get back this phone back on its feet and I will very appreciate for your help !
P.S. I can't get S-OFF , I want to use my AT&T sim card in it.

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a firmware issue.
Boot into fastboot and connect to your computer.
run "fastboot getvar all"
See what firmware you are running.
Pull the firmware from post #3 on Bad Boyz thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2635051
and run.. the flash is there twice, make sure and do it twice.. it's not a typo.
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Fastboot reboot-bootloader
If you still have trouble, try flashing an older firmware from here..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2503646
In my situation, I flashed to 3.05.651.6 and it would boot, but once I connected to the PC and tried to access the storage on the phone, it would reboot the phone.
Flashing to 4.06.651.4 fixed everything.
Look HERE for the 3.05.651.6 RUU or you can go thru the steps to fix your phone.
From now on stay in the Sprint section to find roms

When doing the fastboot commands, it gives me error twice when doing the firmware and YES I renamed it to "firmware.zip"
gives me error message saying "cannot open" and also re-type in command again , same error
hmm.. let me try to duplicate my error later today on one of my test phones and i'll get back to you.
What ROM are you trying to install?

Make sure it's firmware.zip and not firmware.zip.zip
Window hides extentions as least on my machine it does.
So rename it just firmware and see if that helps

That was my mistake, but rename it to "firmware" . now its working. Phone is back up on its feet. lol.
Just want to say thank you for your support and help. Phone is flawless, Thanks you so much again.
HAVE A BLESSED DAY !
I did the same thing by accident. Flashed the old firmware instead of the new by accident and then kept trying to update with the same problems. Since only the first and last digits of the firmware are different and I had them in the same folder I just grabbed the wrong one. All was fixed as with you when I corrected my firmware.

[Q] HTC One M7 - Developers Edition - Boot Loop HELP!!!!

Hello,
I am a newbie to the forum. I posses only limited knowledge.
I use a HTC one M7 developers editions. I dropped my phone and since then it had gone in a boot loop and I am not able to get through out of the home screen. It just keeps rebooting.

I tried to flash the RUU with the help of one of the threads here using an .exe file. As my phone was s-on, I was not able to use the zip. But it kept giving me a error 155. I then tried to have the s-off with FIREWATER to have an earlier RUU like 4.3 installed but I couldn't turn on the USB debugging from the inside of the phone.
I am not sure of what to do now. Any sort of help would be great.
Thanks a lot

that ruu can not be flashed on your phone, because it require s-off.
I think you probably have hardware damage since your phone started bootlooping after you have dropped it. however you could try to restore the 6.07.1540.1 nandroid backup posted in the dev edition update thread in the general section and see if your phone can boot normaly

There is no RUU for your version, the RUU you tried to run was a lower version and you can not run a lower version with being S-ON. If you have TWRP installed you can try to flash a nandroid 6.07.1540.1.

Let try these steps:
1. If you don't have fastboot and adb installed then use Minimal ADB & Fastboot TooL to install them. We will not be able to use the ADB commands but we will be able to use the fastboot commands.
2. Download and place in your adb and fastboot folder TWRP 2.7.1.2 and firmware 6.07.1540.1 (the unmodified one) rename to firmware.zip
3, We need to boot the phone into bootloader. Completely power off your phone. Once the phone is off, press and hold the Power Button + Vol Down the phone will boot into the bootloader. Using the Vol Buttons will move the selection up and down. Highlight or select FASTBOOT, then press the Pwr button to select. Once selected, you should see FASTBOOT where it previously said HBOOT.
4. Connect your phone to the computer, it should say FASTBOOT USB.
5. In the command window type the following commands:
Code:
[B][I][COLOR="Blue"]fastboot devices[/COLOR][/I][/B]
Note: Should see your "serial number device" Copy down your serial number
Code:
[B][I][COLOR="Blue"]fastboot oem rebootRUU[/COLOR][/I][/B]
Note: You should see a silver HTC logo come up on your phone after executing this command.
Note: if this command freezes, just disconnect the USB cable and hold the power and volume down buttons until the device reboots. Then, repeat the steps above again.
Code:
[I][B][COLOR="Blue"]fastboot flash zip firmware.zip[/COLOR][/B][/I]
Note: This will fail, message to say "please flush image again immediately" Just run the command again!
Code:
[B][I][COLOR="Blue"]fastboot flash zip firmware.zip[/COLOR][/I][/B]
Note: The green bar on the phone may not go to 100% of the bar ... but If you see completed on your computer command window, wait for a few seconds and move on.
Code:
[B][I][COLOR="Blue"]fastboot reboot[/COLOR][/I][/B]
Note: Your phone should boot up normally
If it doesn't or you just want to put the nandroid on your phone here is how it is done:
Unzip the nandroid and it will make its own folders on your PC. Since you don't have TWRP installed on your phone you will need to make some folders. Connect your phone to your PC, once it is connected open the Internal Storage folder. Here make a new folder called TWRP. Open that folder make a folder called BACKUPS. Open that folder and make a new folder the name will be your serial number that you copied earlier. Now copy the entire folder the nandroid made earlier to this folder.
Now boot into the bootloader like you did earlier.
Code:
[B][I][COLOR="Blue"]fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.7.1.2-m7.img[/COLOR][/I][/B]
Code:
[B][I][COLOR="Blue"]fastboot erase cache[/COLOR][/I][/B]
Code:
[B][I][COLOR="Blue"]fastboot reboot-bootloader[/COLOR][/I][/B]
Once back in the bootloader, select bootloader and on the next screen select Recovery. When TWRP boots up you will have a number of tiles Backup is one and Restore is another. For sanity sake, I would backup the present system before I restored the nandroid. When you select Restore you should see two if you made a backup the one with the name of the file folder you moved is the nandroid backup. Select it and once it is complete select reboot system and you are done.

[Q] Stuck on Recovery Mode with NO ROM - Htc One M7

Data:
HTC One M7
Old Rom: Revolution HD 30
Recovery: Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.0.1
Hi, simple as this; I have a Htc One M7, installed Revolution HD 30, long time ago, today I decided to upgrade it. Downloaded Revolution HD 90.
Upload the file to the storage of the phone... Enter recovery, install the pack. After that I couldnt continue I keep getting Recovery Mode loop, including after doing stuff etc.
I was tired of trying so I did a factory mode, so I erased everything. Now Im stuck at Recovery Mode, without a ROM in the phone. I have "Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.0.1"
It doesnt have an option to load Usb Storage... (so I can upload a new rom) Im screw up?
What can I do? I only found this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636503) on the forum, the files to download are corrupted, and I actually dont know if that works for me.
What can I do? Do I have a solution? Im really scared...
Thanks in advice.

your recovery is too old, you need at least TWRP 2.6.3.3 for the rom you are trying to flash, so flash that first, theres no need to panic, its easy to fix, after that just push the rom to your internal sdcard and install it.

I take it you didn't load up the original TWRP then.
Download my adb and fastboot files below and extract the zip to your desktop for ease.
get TWRP 2.6.3.3 from here, for ease rename it to recovery and the place it in the same folder as the adb and fastboot files that you just downloaded. (TWRP site down at the mo)
Then open a command prompt within that window by holding down control - shift - right mouse click in any area of that window and select open command window here (leave this window open all the time)
with your phone plugged into the computer and your phone on the bootloader screen and saying fastbootUSB type these commands
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
after you've done that, you want to enter recovery, main screen only, still with your phone plugged in and put the rom.zip file in the same folder as adb and fastboot on your computer, with the command window still open type:
adb push name-of-rom.zip /sdcard/
Click to collapse
take between 5 and 10 mins to push and will look like its doing nothing, it will let yo9u know when its done though.
unplug your phone when its done and flash your rom
