You probably only have around 100MB or less of internal storage left.

I have 2.5 gb

Of internal storage? I doubt that. Out of the box this phone has only got 4GB total internal and only like 1GB of internal--give or take--is actually usable.

I have 8gb version. Internal storage free 2.5 gb

Not able to install in Memory card

Hi all i tried to search for an answer and couldnt find it. please help me. Whenever i install any apps it always gets installed in main memory even if i select the memory card as the destination. What is the issue here?
Does your device see your memory card at all? What ROM are you running? Is this something that happened suddenly or has it always been this way? I am sure it can be figured out. Kevin
Also, what type of apps are you trying to install? Some apps will force their way to the main memory as they can't be run off the storage card.

I have the stock 6.1 A&T ROM. i tried to install the touch GLO 3d and all the apps i tried to install as prt of that are going to main memory. Probably as you said it might have been the forced to install in the main memory.
There's no way in the world you can run that off the storage card Usually, anything that goes on the today screen is highly recommend to be installed on the main memory so that it boots correctly.

I wish to but i am stuck now with low memory in my phone. My phone memory details are as below
Storage
Total: 113.55 MB
In Use: 111.62 MB
Free: 1.93 MB
Program
Total: 85.32 MB
In Use: 47.50 MB
Free: 37.82 MB
I am confused to see this. Whats the diff between storage and program memory?

[SOLVED] How to increase device storage space on X1?

Hallo everyone,I am stuck in a problem for a long time,As you know,X1'ROM is 512 MB,but my device storage space is always about 200 MB though my rom file is usually smaller than 100MB,I thought it should be about 512-100≈400 MB or some Left,I wonder Where does the missing 400-200=200MB space go?and need a way can solve this,THX
Finally I get the reason,Because i use OSBuilder to create Imgfs.bin, and now I use ImgfsFromDump,It is OK now, thanks all the same!
Hmm, I think device memory is slip into 2 sections... 1 is Storage, 1 is Program... Maybe i wrong, but if u should check that in ur X1, Settings---> SD card and Phone Storage.
U will see that there are 2 section for all, Device and SD card, and Device has 2 sections that are Total storage and Total Program.
Hope u understand my English, I'm learning Eng now, so i still practice it
It depends on rom what you are using. The rom file (nbh) is compress so the decompressed size is about 2 times larger. And people usually use the cutomization what starts after rom update. It also uses some space. Just do a hard reset and see how much space is used.
So yes the 200MB is believable.

thanks for your relpy , And Maybe I did'nt describe it well , I mean when I cooked a rom that is 100 MB then they storage space is 200MB , When rom is 80 MB ,the storage is still 200MB , even 60 MB, no space increase or decrease when rom is smaller or bigger, that's the problem

[Q] (One-Click-Lag-Fix) Does Apps-to-SD slow your phone up ???

Ok so people have been telling me OCLG is great -- but you can't install it if you have alot of apps.
Then 2.2 froyo brings about the ability to move your apps to your SD (thereby enabling OCLG i suppose?)
But doesn't moving your apps to your SD lag/slow down your computer anyways ?
What would be the solution here?
I am getting my phone back later today (after bricking it) and it will FINALLY have the download/recovery option on it. Which means I'm going to start flashing roms etc. I was told to flash the newest 2.2 firmware with root and OCLG and it will be flying.
However I am the type of guy who d/l's tons of apps. To the point where OCLG wouldn't work on my phone (2.1) because apps took up all the space.
So once I get it back later today, and install 2.2, and load it up with apps, will OCLF work? please help me out.
basically just want to know if moving your apps to your SD will slow down your phone or not. Does anyone else have 2.2 with OCLG and alot of apps? how does your phone run?
o_0 how many apps do you have? I've got 130+, but it's not used more that a quater of the 2GB available for apps.

I've got over 200 or so.
What do you mean "it's" not used to it ? So your saying the OCLF can't work with more than 200 apps? The point of this thread was to ask about Apps-to-sd --- using Apps to SD would obviously reduce the amount of space (2gb) the apps are using up right ? So this would have an effect of HELPING the OCLF, no ?
My question pertains to 2.2 froyo -- and whether or not the apps-to-sd slows down the phone.
Does ANYONE here use 2.2 with ALOT of apps and OCLF ?
no one ? cmon

It[ ha]'s not used more than. 200 or so apps shouldn't fill up the 2GB internal storage. Which SGS do you have? Is it one with 2gb app storage space, or one with less?
I've never understood why anyone would need to use apps2sd on a SGS. Not with that much internal storage space.

Hello Everyone
I rooted and already have my phone the way I want it but I've noticed that when you do the full wipe

I currently running the Rage Rom thinking of going back to Ecliptic ONE

I made a back up but i deleted it unless theres another back up am missing somewhere?
how much space you supposed to have after the full wipe?
I recently did a full wipe and it was like 6.x gigs right off the bat. It boggles the mind, considering there are phones out there that have only that much total capacity.
Wtf htc.
Does anyone know how much space AOSP roms take? I'm switching once the installer comes out.

AOSP ROMs are typically around 120-150 Megs zipped, sense ROM go.from 700 to a little over 900 MB's zipped.

It's only 25 GB available left. :-[

Right, but I'm asking for how much CM takes after installation and clean wipe. I'm not sure how compression works, so this may be wrong, but if I set up a proportion (I'm almost sure you can't do that), CM comes to 1.5 gigs installed (205meg for 10.2 zipped), which seems more reasonable.
It really sucks that I have to keep clearing out stuff because I start with only like 25 gigs of space rather than 31.5.
Can somebody who has 10.2 installed comment?
if its off a fresh boot, it's because of all the apps that prolly installed to the internal sd got erased, thats why you had more space, and still have your files and stuff

I (tried to) delete ALL data from my phone and it was still 7 gigs.
Got this explanation from another site.
The 32GB are in 1000Byte = 1KB Logic, and the 25GB should be in Binary Logic, so 1024Byte = 1KB. which gives at first a "loss" of about 2GB: 32GB = 29,8023GiB
the rest of the space is mostly the android system, reserved space for cache etc... one small part will be the journal of the ext file sytstem which is used instead of yaffs. So arround 200-400MB i think will be covered by the ext journal.
you have the same problem with harddisks too. The firms write it in decimal logic but the operating system does it in binary. Some Operating Systems nowadays also write the correct GiB or MiB or KiB but not all...[\quote]

use a file explorer and go back as far as you can. Check /data/media. if you've ever flashed a 4.2 rom it moves all your files around and it gets confusing.
If that doesn't find it, download Diskusage. it could help you out.

[Q] System memory is at almost 30gb

Hello,
I have about 8 gb of stuff on my internal memory, but my device is showing the SD to be nearly full, with System Memory taking 29.56 gb. This seems absurdly high, anybody know what's going on?

That's why... Its a safe strap bug. The space is still there its just wonky reporting. If you open a file manager, you will see your true free space
