Hi, long time reader first time poster.I recently downgraded my D415 from an update that caused me to lose my root. I found this thread [Easy][GUIDE][UNROOT][RELOCK BOOTLOADER]Flash Stock KDZ Offline LG L90 [All Variants]. I followed the directions and got my D415 back to "C" version. But when it came back to "c" life my messaging no longer worked along with google search and a couple other apps. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated. I really miss my texting. I'm curious if this has happened to anyone else. BTW this is a really great and helpful site..........Thanx!!
Factory reset.

Same thing happened to me. I think the apps are not compatible with the C version as they were with the E version. Continue to Root your phone, install flashify, install twrp and just use a custom ROM. Once on the custom Rom, everything worked fine for me.
lixaot already said it. A factory reset fixes the issue. I was using Hangouts or FB Messengers ability to access texts until came across a post regarding methods to get into the recovery. After a factory reset, I still had root, but messaging worked again.

I have had my G2 for about a year. I had rooted it and never took an update after 11A. I was happy with the way my phone worked and read some of the stories where people were not happy with KitKat.
Unfortunately, the touch went out on my screen and I had to get a replacement. I successfully flashed my old one back to stock and removed root w/out a problem.
Now my problem is this:
The new phone came with 25B. I understand there is no way to root this version. The phone is already wanting me to update to 26A. What I would like to do is rollback someway, root, then take updates. I can already see my phone signal is not as strong as it used to be.
My questions are:
1. Can I rollback to an earlier version and root via one of the IORoot options? (TOT it like I did my old phone)
2. What version would I need to rollback to to accomplish this.
3. Could someone point to the correct thread to do this?
4. Finally, I see it seems to be ok to take factory updates if you are rooted only. I am not interested in custom roms. I use Titanium Backup to freeze bloatware and would like like to be able to use it again. I have quite a bit I need to restore.
I have done some searching but it seems the G2 section has changed a lot since I was last here. I do appreciate any help and/or pitfalls you can warn me about. I do have the LG Flash Tool 1.8 installed and am familiar with how to install the needed TOT file.
Thanks....

You can kdz or tot back and root from there. Root sticks through 25b but not 26a update.
Thank you. I will go ahead and update to the 25b then.
So downgraded my d415 lg l90 back to the old update for towel root, after doing so my texting was broken so I decided to try to install a custom rom, first i installed a custom recovery and tried to install both pac rom and cm11 both failed many times though g apps succeeded I'm not sure if it was the right version tried installing two different ones keep getting errors every time with ever Google app. At the moment what would be my next best course of action please help.

Still really need help, could anyone help me?
fixed
I used the towelroot method last June (I think) to root my AT&T Note 3. Stupid me, accidentally deleted Magazine rather than freezing it. Ever since, I keep getting Touchwhiz has stopped working with the OK prompt at various intervals. no matter what; when I receive a new email, It gives me the email has stopped working routine. I can hit the OK button and tap my email icon and access my email without a problem.
I tried reinstalling Magazine and Lounge, but that didn't help. Now; as of Friday; the latest update of Kies fails to read my phone.
I've read so many different causes and solutions, and tried nearly all of them that made any sense, but to no avail. I've searched the forum, and Googled it for months now, but haven't found a solution.
Last ditch effort is to be scolded and told how stupid I am (which I already know) and to search the forum, which I have and found multiple hits. Most with a different solution, but, so far; no fix.
Sorry. Edited to include: AT&T Note 3 SM-900A Ver. 4.4.2 N900AUCCUCN2 Build KOT 49H.N900AUCUCNC2
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Fix
So I would suggest a complete wipe and using Odin to go back to a full stock install. The link below will walk you through it and you have to use the individual files and not the all in one, but it should fix the issues. You wont have Root anymore but I have found you can get a lot of the things you wanted root for without it now.
http://http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/general/kitkat-4-4-4-n900aucudnl1-odin-tars-t2999317
Link appears to be broken.
I need root access. If I flashed back to stock ROM, couldn't I re-root with towelroot and be a little more careful this time?
I've done that exact thing before
hey guys hope all is well
so i may have somewhat softbricked my g4 dont really know how but i will explain what i did
hopefully someone can point out where i went wrong and how to fix it
Step #1
got root using this guide previously used the guide to get root on my ATT LGG4 worked fine
so got root, was successful everything worked fine
step #2
installed flashify
granted root access; all good
installed TWRP via flashify; all good
step #3 backup via TWRP all good
step #4 flashed G4H811 10N xTreme ROM v2.0 from this via TWRP; All good
step #5 attempt to install xposed framework 64bit from xposed respository via TWRP
supposedly installed fine but thats where the problems started to occur
random crashes of main apps system apps touch screen stops responding android.system crashes etc
step#6 try to flash back to prior TWRP backup
flashed back but same problems still occur
#step 7 flashed back to xtreme rom still same problems
#step 8 flashed to H811 10N stock Restore found herehttp://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/rom-g4-h811-10n-stock-restore-t3191756
still same problems even though twrp and root are now gone because "clean install of stock rom"
did i **** up during the xposed install? how do i fix this
thanks a ton guys

Did you flash the bootstack for 10N?
I did NOT flash the bootstack for 10n because the guide said not to if you were already on 10n
I was on 10h, rooted with TWRP.
I then installed Exposed.
After a couple of days, I flashed 10N when it was made available by MicroMod777.
Even though everyone was running smoothly with 10N, I was having:
- touchscreen issues where one of every two touches weren't recognized.
- lag up the wazoo while scrolling, etc.
I was like, wow, this ain't good.
So I uninstalled Exposed, and I was still having the issues.
Then I was going to flash my 10h Nandroid, where I wasn't having zero issues.
But then I figured I'd let 10N settle in, so to speak.
After several hours without any further changes, 10N was running like clockwork without any issues. Smooth as butter.
I mention this as it may pertain to you.
You've made the many changes, so now just let things settle down and see how it goes.
I know that sometimes things just have to settle in. Why for some and not for others? I don't know.
It just is.
You got twrp to work on att?

I really hope that the issues will disappear its more than the touchscreen is unresponsive every other touch its like not working at all then it will work randomly. Also the power button doesnt seem to open the power menu either.
So as i stand rn im back on the custom room rooted twrp but no xposed. Still the same problems but i have twrp installed which hopefullyis a good thing.
I hope it resolves itself after time but that most likely wont work
And no this is a tmobile g4 i moved over to tmo the other day. Im talking on my att g4 and trying to fix the tmo g4

so i did the KDZ restore booted up the phone play services crashes the power or volume buttons still dont work and the touchscreen/general ui are still extremely unresponsive and system.ui crashes like crazy
wtf is causing this i thought the KDZ restore was like a full wipe?
Just thinking out loud.
Was this device possibly plugged into an outlet and received a power surge?
Or did moisture get to it somehow?
Or something similar to the above scenarios?
I'm thinking it may be a hardware issue affecting the software, as compared to strictly a software issue.
Or maybe things just have to settle in for up to 48 hours.
Hi people, I have once rooted LS995 with stock ZV3, and there was no OTA for me (check for updates button was not giving anything), so I decided to go back to that same stock, done it over LG Flash Tool, I wasn't rooted any more, and the same thing is happening, no OTA's. What am I missing?
Probably an issue with Google Play Services. Try adb sideload, after downloading the update files from here on xda. And I had a similar issue except mine would go to install them and soft brick every time. Although I got tired of that crap rather quickly so I am running Miui V5. Completely google free!
