Hello guys. Greetings to you all
i have a GALAXY MINI 7-8 months old. earlier i was using the sim cards which had 2G gprs and at that time, the phone gave me battery backup of about a day (24 hours with normal usage)
then i came to know about BSNL 3G sim and its data plan which was quite cheap and similar in price to 2G packs. so i switched to BSNL.
then my phone used to get heated during charging or during multitasking and also, the battery would quickly charge to 80-90 % (within 30 mins) and then drop to 15% in 30 mins
i searched for many forums to find the reason of heating etc etc. one day, i thought to remove the 3G sim and put back an sim with 2G network only.
TO MY SUPRISe, THE PHONE NEVER GOT HEATED AND EVEN MULTITASKING DURING CHARGING HAD NO EFFECT on the PHONE TEMPERATURE..
so guys, i want help in this topic.
1.] does SGM heat while using only 3G network?
2.] is the problem with the BSNL CARD only?
3.] have you ever faced problem of phone heating(above normal 50 degrees) during charging or multitasking?
4.] is my assumption that BSNL sim is the CULPRIT correct?
5.] how much backup did your SGM gave after 7-8 months? (mine gives only 5-6 hours of moderated usage. )
6.] any other tips or suggestions you would want to share.!
by the way, i have tried using cm7 rc5.7 , cm 7 rc0 v0.7 mebitek, mini mod, STOCK GB rom and froyo too. AND IN ALL THE ROMS, I FACE THIS PROBLEM.
and those who get help from my this thread, please say THANKS

battery drains quickly because of using 3g
3g uses different bands and also uses higher frequency that's why your mobile get heated
sim is not the culprit but using 3g is the problem
about quick charging try calibrating your battery

Hi guys
I am considering buying the Moto G 2014 for a gift. The battery capacity seems flimsy for a big screen. How is the battery life on moderate use? No gaming, mainly browsing websites to read news, emails. Would it last for a day, 12 hours?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I use mine a lot and I finish the day (going to sleep) @ 20%. It even can go through the night without discharging completely
True.. I try my best to bring its battery to zero.. But this beast just doesn't give up!
My tip is: grenify or kill Facebook apps. They eat RAM and drink battery too. My battery life increased a lot after I greenified those apps. Too bad I can't find a good replace...
greenify is for root users... if u want more from ua phone go to developer settings > select runtime and select ART mode... it wil boost your android as well as ua battery life... keep it in mind it takes more space on phone memory so that it can keep apps compileed...

Thanks all. I bought it from BestBuy yesterday. This is a gift for my dad's birthday. Seems like the battery will be just fine with his use. This is a great phone, for a low price.

I think i have drained a lot of battery since today evening after switching to ART . I know tha ART should save a bit of battery juice but it seems strange that it has been just 6 hrs from Full Charge & my phone is down to 27%.

ART doesn't do **** right now, it's still experimental and it's still a placebo
My previous mobile Samsung S+ i9001 was able to work for at least 2 days without charging, but my new Moto G 2014 works for 3 days! I'm so happy.
I usually use Whatsapp, Viber, K9, xabber and listen to music a lot (Apollo). I don't use facebook though.
Hi all, I'm considering buying a Moto x for my phone, which I will be keeping for two years. I however have several questions regarding the Moto X.
Is the battery really as bad as the press makes you believe? Gsmarena has a pretty bad 48h rating for the X, while 60-70 is the average. For me, on weekdays, the phone is connected to WiFi all day and is used for light browsing and some gaming, about 3h of SOT, while on weekends, my phone is on HSPA+ or LTE, and about 4h of SOT. Will the X survive a while day for me, based on estimates?
I'd also like to ask about how well the phone software has aged - is it lagging or any major problems popped up? Anyway, that's all I wanted to know as the phone looks like an attractive optio!
Bought this phone in December as an upgrade from my Galaxy s3 (i9300) after using it for almost 2.5 years.
Had the same intention in mind of keeping it for at least 2 years.
Wrt the battery, I generally get 3.5-4 hours SOT on Wi-Fi with location services on and 3-3.5 hours on LTE. I haven't rooted the phone and don't plan to any time soon. The software is snappy and I've not noticed any lag at all.
Also, I'm not a very heavy user of the camera but whenever I need it, the X doesn't disappoint me.

Thanks for the reply, main question for me now is if 16GB is enough or not... S4's barely holding up with a 16GB MSN and 9GB of internal storage.
I got the x right after it came out I will say its just as snappy as it was when it came out but the battery life on lollipop varies some people have seen 4-5 SOT others like me see 2:30- 3 SOT google play services can sometimes take so much I only get 2 hours SOT or less , but its a great option and I would just get the 32gb If I were you....you'll love having pure android, fast updates, and a beautifully crafted phone ...PS: the 2015 x comes out in September if you can wait for it to see if its better others wise the moto x 2014 is a solid device

Using 16 GB. For my usage needs it's sufficient. You really need to decide this as per your usage. My s3 had 32 (16 internal +16 SD card ). I used most of my external card only because I used to flash a lot of roms and needed space to save nandroid back ups and titanium backups as well. I don't plan to root this phone hence 16 gigs seems sufficient. Also I use the Google photos app to backup my photos to the cloud so my images also don't really clog up space.

the battery is as good as any other phone i've ever used. i currently use my moto x and an iphone 5c. i have high usage on both phones and have no problem making it 8-9 hours with 30% left.

Ah, I would but they don't have the 32GB model here in my country. Such a shame too, because if I lived in the US I would use Moto Maker as well.

You can use a Meenova Dash as a file transfer device if you are uncomfortable having it plugged into your USB port all the time.
I have seen bits of scattered information from post.
Does all the phone basics work as they should? Better? Worse? Does any mods get broken such as Wanam?
No xposed. No if ands or buts. Everything works great

Pros: Everything is better!
Cons: battery life and no xposed

agree no xposed really sucks, but battery life has been a lot better for me.
Unfortunately battery life is bad for me. I lost 2 hours screen time using same apps and setting.
For those that keeps on insisting that the battery life is worst on lollipop keep in mind that you recently received the update so a ton of behind the scenes stuff is still going on.
Once it settles in it should be better.
I've been running it for a few days and it's not that much better. Music drains faster. I use Google play all access for my music. Also when its stuck enabling WiFi calling it chews through battery. GPS battery is better but gps only works when it feels like it. Noticed it does better if I leave GPS on high accuracy. It will work till it drops from LTE to 4g. Battery is usually a full day from 5am till 11pm 4-5 hours of screen on time. Today it decided to shut off on me twice. First time it wouldn't start up. Second was a random reboot looking at things to remember website.
I've just moved from the iPhone 8 plus to the p20 Pro Jesus I am blown away it was a hard decision as I've been a loyal apple fan since the 3g
The pro is quick , no sluggish and now they have fixed the routing issue my banking apps work also
I got a dual SIM off three UK and have my work SIM and my personal SIM in the phone
Does having dual SIM drain the battery quicker ? As I've got two network running at the same time
I love the camera and the screen and phone so think my days are gone with the apple world
Thanks in advance

Hi,
To answer your question. No it should not take up much more or noticeable battery drain during normal use throughout the working day.
The reason to this is that when you use both of the sims you would have manually selected which sim is used for data connectivity which means that the other sim won't connect to its' network for data.
However, yes both sims will be receiving a network signal to maintain normal operation, but won't also be sending or downloading data until you have either manually selected it to do so or if you have received or are receiving a call.
If you have enabled dual data then it may. But that wouldn't be ideal for everyday functionality per se
Hope this helps
Can't say whether the dual sim drains battery quicker however I guess that it would as compared to a single sim phone. Nevertheless, the battery efficiency of this phone is crazy, even with HEAVY use you won't be able to drain the battery in one day; I always go to bed with min 30ish percent left. As we speak I have 35% left and I used the phone too much (mind you, its 01:06am [emoji16])
My girlfriend has the 8 plus and I always have way more battery left than she does at the end of the day.
That aside, even if it drained quicker, the benefit of me not holding/charging two phones every single day, makes the p20 pro a winner.
Tip.. If you use apps like vibe, WhatsApp etc in each sim, the phone has this twin app option for apps which are registered to phone numbers.

Dual SIM doesn't take up anything noticeable compared to single SIM, the difference is neither here nor there.
