Hi,
can anybody tell me why my phone automatically starts when it is connected to a charger?
My Problem is that my battery is dead flat, but i cant charge it properly because anytime i connect it, the phone starts and consumes too much power so it turns off again but then starts itself because its connected.
Any Help/Ideas how to solve this?
I usually spam/hold the power button to prevent it from turning on.
2 minutes of holding that round, silver pig is enough for charging the battery.
My question is: does the phone start charging (normally) before or after starting bootloader?

Hi guys and gals!
I've been experiencing these problems for a long time, but it didn't piss me off enough till today. Is it only me? Whenever the phone is charging it takes me forever to turn it on. If I press the power button this stupid battery appears and nothing happens. The same if I hold the power for 8-10 seconds (hard reset). I always manage to turn it on somehow eventually but it can take a while and I never know what actually made the damn thing to come alive. Are there others out there suffering the same fate?
seems like the problem many are having with the usb charging port. My problem is that phone keeps charging even after the usb cable is disconnected. the phone thinks its still charging and goes through the battery charging animation yet the phone is not even connected. then the phone will not turn on at all. So the way I would turn it on would be to connect it to usb charging and wait 5 minutes, then click on the power button and hold it a few seconds. then the phone would turn on.
Here is a test you can do to confirm if the usb port is going bad. when the phone is off and won't turn on and battery charging animation is on, take a plastic strip and try to push in the usb pins inside the charging port. I mean, to push the pins inside the phone, straight back. then turn on the phone and it will turn on. if that is the case, then your usb port circuit has to be changed inside the phone.

Yup, this happens to me too. But not really a biggy, more of an inconvenience, but an inconvenience that I could live with as I don't start/reboot my phone plugged in all the time and if ever, i just unplug it, start, and voila, problem solved.
Hey all had my first phone about 9 months. It would not charge once, and eventually went to 0% and was fully dead. At first it got replaced with a new battery. I then went to hand the phone in once again! a month after... the battery was lasting half the day where as before it would just last me the whole day.
They sent me out a new handset (after i threatened them with the law (i have no insurance- however the phone is not lost, damaged or stolen)).
Now iv not noticed any problems with the handset.. I recently upgraded to the new firmware uk generic.. The phone went to 0% for the first time ever. I try to charge it and it does not charge. I have left the phone plugged in with the power button stuck down for an hour. And now what happens is, the phone boots to the load screen and just as the interface loads up it says Power off shutting down. And then keeps turning off and on off and on.. The phone will still not charge when turned off, but i cant get the phone to load up and start charging ?
Any help appreciated iv started to have enough of Sony these past two years
Thank you
Warwick
After continuously trying to boot the phone. It eventually goes dead again. I can charge the battery a little bit by holding the power button down. But then the light turns green thinking it must have enough charge to boot (but hasnt)
Is there a way to keep the force charging on for longer rather then it rebooting itself forever?

Keep the power button pressed with a rubber band while it's connected to the charger. Leave it for a couple of hours.
Why will the rubber help catalyse the battery?

For some reason keeping the button pressed will allow the phone to charge. If you don't believe me Google it. I did, tried it, worked for me and was able to flash another FTF... not a big deal.
I think you misread my first post mate lol I was joking about the rubber
I'd already stuck the power button down. It's sorted now though but thanks for the post
My phone keeps charging itself. It doesn't really charge but something is really broken with the phone. My phone says it's charging itself and 5seconds later it isnt. That causes my screen to go on and off and basically my screen wont turn off. When i have shut the phone down, it still has the charging logo and whatnot. Also the battery level sometimes just changes when i restart my phone.
^^I think that happens because my phone has got some liquid damage (was in some coke for a second)^^
^^All of that sometimes stops, when i use my phone for about 20 minutes with battery heavy apps. It doesn't work always but about 6/10 times.
I have bought a new battery so it's not that.
Any help would be appreciated
May be the USB port. Try cleaning it.
doesn't seem to be the USB port
Hi guys, I have a huge problem.
Currently I'm on vacation in Croatia, where it's around 38-40 C every day. One day I had to log into an unsecured wi-fi. I know, i shouldn't have done that but it was urgent. Well, the same night (while charging) my phone turned off itself and I had to turn it back on on the next day. It worked the whole day until I opened the camera. Suddenly the phone went off and I wasn't able to turn it on. At first I thought the battery has drained so I plugged it into the original OP charger (dash). It gets warm while charging, but the LED is not turning on. After an hour of charging I still can't turn the phone on. Not even after a charging over night. There's also no vibration after holding the power button, neither holding the power-button for 20 (or more) seconds . I can't even get into recovery mode by holding volume-down and power.
I'm on original Resurrection Rom.
Is there anything else I could try? Could it be that some hardware is damaged (overheated)?
Since I'm on vacation there's currently no way for me to do any kind of unbricking until I find some phone-repair service.
I'm not a pro, but Im pretty sure the problem occur on the hardware side since the phone is not taking the charge and no vibration
I once had an Android phone (not 3t), the same thing occured, the phone I had had some hardware damage near the battery so I experienced the same problems you listed, ended up getting a new phone
Overheating is probably not the issue, at least not the 40C air temps you mentioned. These devices can probably something like 60C (internal temp at CPU or battery) before seeing any damage. Lot of folks live where it's just as hot as where you are, if not hotter. So I have to think the device is designed to work under such conditions.
Try holding the power button longer (a minute or more). I don't know about this device. But on my old HTC M8, there were instances where the phone powered off by itself. And the power button needed to be held over a minute, to make it boot. Although no charge LED is concerning.
Mine did the same a few days ago, was tethering and the phone just shut off. Buttons didn't work, no vibration, no charge LED, no anything. Thought it died but after plugging it into a PC it was detected as QHSUSB_BULK (hardbrick).
But it turned on normally after a minute lol.
Hallo. Mine also crashed. I was in the sunset playing game and taking pictures. Then phone suddenly got so warm and lagged, It turned off itself. No reaction. I connected into charger and then turned on hopefully. I think you must take care, because it has metal body and easy heating, and when heating it's lagging and not works good
My opinion is that it's overheat problem

You will see Qualcomm download mode message (QHSUSB_BULK) whenever the device is powered off. It needs to be powered on, at least to bootloader (or recovery or OS) for the PC to connect in any other way.
Update
After 3 days, it finally turns on and charges as expected. Don't know if it has to do anything with it, but i let it in the charger for 1 day.
but now another problem occured.
every time I press the homebutton the phone crashes and goes off. this only happenes if the fingerprintscanner is not requested.
i.e. unlocking phone with fingerprint, does not crash, but... pressimg homebutton to go back to home screen crashes.
I charge my phone overnight and it freezes when I wake up. My alarm doesn't go off which really sucks. What happens is I unplug my phone but the charging LED is still on. Pressing the power doesn't turn on. The only way to get the phone working again is to hold the power and volume down for a few seconds to get it to restart. Any way to fix this? Wondering if this is a hardware issue. I tried turning off battery care but that doesn't do anything.
Thinking of just getting another XZ1 compact if it can't be fixed. Does anyone know if the Japanese version (SO-02K) works in Canada on Chatr?
Did you try with different charger? Or resetting phone to a factory reset? In the end you can take longer road and upgrade to Android 12. Not saying anything will help, but maybe instead of buying new phone
