Remove Sprint Icons - Sprint HTC One (M8)

Is there anyway, to remove all the idiotic extra sprint icons when writing the new lollipop version?

What icons? I don't have any.. maybe it's because I am on ViperROM or maybe it's because I use TWRP to uninstall all the Sprint apps?
Sprint Zone, Sprint Connections Optimizer, and one or two more.

NFC, GPS, and the annoying Sprint Spark icons. You said Viper ROM? I wonder if they support the HK edition.

I just checked.. I can hide boom/hk icon, nfc, Sprint GPS, GPS, and more. Here's the Rom thread.. it says all variants supported, but you can ask

As for all the other Sprint stuff I've installed it with Titanium Backup.. I mistakenly said TWRP in my previous post. Works great. I've been using ViperROM for awhile now. Great support and frequent updates.

Two Facebooks?

When I go to Manage Apps I see Facebook and Facebook for HTC Sense. Can I delete one? I'm trying to free up space but I don't want to screw up anything.
I'm rooted with Damage Control v2.09.01
Yes, you can remove one or both. I removed facebook app that came packed with ruu and reinstalled through market so I could delete it through market later without having to adb rm.
Thanks again raz! I was hoping to delete the one that came with the ruu, but I didn't want to blow it and lose Facebook. I'm too much of a FB junkie.

A bit off topic, but you should update your ROM. DC is at rev 3.2.X now. Check the second post of the main thread as it's the one being updated currently (July 15, 2010)
Also, I'm pretty sure you want to keep HTC for Sense...I think it's the one that sync contact photos. At least that is the one I always enable in accounts and my contact pics show up every time.
Cheers!
You're right about Facebook for HTC. When I removed it I lost my pictures in my contacts.
I tried installing DC 3.1.2 but I got an error and couldn't install it. I want to do the latest version but it says you have to do other steps first for 4G. Do I still have to do them on my Hero or is that only if yore doing it on Evo?
Until I can figure it out I'll have to stick with what I have.
DC 3.2.X is for the EVO.

So what is the highest version to use with the Hero? Maybe that's why the one I tried wouldn't work.
2.09.01
Read: final hero version

Thanks sierpinski13. I was only trying to go higher because someone mentioned I wasn't using the latest version. I wish I would have known sooner that I was already on the best one for the Hero. I had to go set everything up again after 3.1 didn't install.
That's partially my fault, I forgot to do a nandroid. Oh well, I'm good now.
I almost wish I had the Evo but it's more per month and I don't think there's much 4G service around here anyway. I really have no complaints about my Hero.
Is there a way to get the Facebook for Sense apk without having to go back to the Sprint RUU and start over? I can live without it but I lost my pictures on my contacts and I think I'd like those back if I don't have to go through a lot to do it.
Any sense rom should have htc Facebook built in. You could also try an app called syncmypix.

[Q] TELUS 3G Sense3.5 ROMs

Alright so I'm sure you've heard of it somewhere.
There is a huge TELUS 3G issue with 3.5Sense ROMs like Nik's or RCMIX3D (etcetc.) ROMs. The 3G does not work. Of course, from personal experience, I find that it technically does... in a way.
Turning on 3G under a TELUS carrier, you are able to go on the internet through a browser, but to connect through an app (Facebook / GMail / Tapatalk / Whatsapp, etc.) - it just does not work.
Strange isn't it?
To add onto that, even the browser internet is just way too slow.
I know that somewhere in Nik's thread, he posted up a fix for this - but even after flashing his fix, it still does not work.
I just thought I would address this because it seems to seldomly get addressed and yet so easily forgotten about.
Does anyone know why this might be? Or at least have an idea?

Sounds like you need to set up the Telus APN settings when you flash those ROMs.
Have you checked the APN data.
sp.telus.com -- smartphone
isp.telus.com -- modem
Shouldn't matter though... I was able to connect everywhere when I was with Koodo.
Mm no, I can safely say that my APN info is all correct and such.
I'm sure if more telus users can report and acknowledge this problem....

we are well aware that the problem exists
the point of the thread is to raise awareness so that a dev can perhaps come up with a solution.
Not sure what it is with TELUS, because TELUS and bell use the same signals. So bell uses should be experiencing the same problems.

I have similar issue.
3G doesn't work in Softbank(a carrier in Japan). Mobile Network can't be turned on.
I don't know this is the same issue as you.
But I think it is clear that all sense 3.5 ROMs have issue with 3G under some carriers.
I'm waiting for new base rom.
Weird, I wonder what the similarities between the carriers? (TELUS / SOFT)

[Q] 4g/LTE/3G not working on Custom Roms

Hello XDA,
So I've purchased my 1st quad-core phone Saturday. I'm extremely happy about the phone's cosmetics and performance. Of course, being the flash-aholic that I am, I decided to beef it up!! After finially getting an AOSP rom that I felt comfortable with, I flashed and everything was great.... Until I noticed that my data stopped working. The funny thing is if I turn on airplane mode, make a call, or restart the phone the data comes on for about 2 minutes and then turns back off. After messing around with settings and such, I restored my stock rom. On the stock rom data works like it should. So I decided to try 2 other roms. One being GE and the other AOSP. Both are doing the same thing with data connectivity.
Is this a known issue? Did I do something wrong? I looked through the Q&A's and I didn't find anything. Keep in mind that I am very experienced up to full development of rooting/flashing/customizing/etc
Thanks in Advanced!!!!!
Update: T-mobile is my service provider
*bump*
It's imperative that I find out if this is fixable or not as I will return the unit if it's not...
Apologies

Did you try updating the radio firmware to match the ROM that you were using? Did you try another Sense ROM to see if the issue wasn't an underlying setting from a GE or AOSP ROM? Did you flash a custom Kernel? Did you match the RILs? Lots of things that you could try to isolate the issue.

I use PA from the regular HTC One forum even though I'm on T-Mobile... It shouldn't matter, I still get the same speeds. Some different ROMs will use different names, like the aosp stuff uses 3g, H, H+ and LTE. In order to enable lte you have to go into the settings for mobile data, APN and then make sure it's the one that's like fast.tmo whatever. That's the LTE APN
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
what's the exact APN name that should be there? I was reading about it but no one said what T-mobile's APN should be. they just noted that it should be changed the correct carrier.
edit: Thanks Button hit!!

"fast.t-mobile.com" for LTE.

[Q] ATT and T-MOBILE

That might be a weird (don't want to use word "stupid") question. I have rooted, unlocked ATT branded Flex, running currently on T-Mo network.
Questions;
1. Is there a way i can somehow port T-Mo stock Rom into it?
2. How do i get rid of the ATT bloat on my Flex?? I was trying BloatFree app, but with it i was not able even see installed ATT apps..
Anything will be appreciated.
Really can't do anything with roms until we have a custom recovery for the Flex, but even then, I don't see the point of running a ROM that belongs to another variant of the device.
I like root explorer for taking care of bloat, but there are other apps that can take care of bloat as well, you just need to look for them. There's also a list floating around with a list of apps that are safe to remove (I suggest finding and reading this list before removing anything).

1. when we have a recovery you may be able to flash the sock deodexed T-Mobile ROM I posted. No promises it'll work.
2. I use es file explorer and delete then, but you could try titanium backup

Thank you for advices.
And to ".................. but even then, I don't see the point of running a ROM that belongs to another variant of the device.................." - the point, for example is, tethering, or mobile hot spots, if you will. Now, Internet (data) works just fine, 4G, and LTE too. But, becuase (I am guessing) Att Radio is different than T-Mo, i cannot get it to tether, even that "legal" 3GB tether T-Mo allows you to.

I should have been more clear when I said that I didn't see the point of running a rom that belongs to another variant. From my experience in the past with other phones and flashing ported roms, not all of the features were functional. Maybe it'll be different with the Flex.

US cellular Phones that are Xposed ready?

so I have had a galaxy s6 for a long while as well as a galaxy4 tab tonight I attempted to go through and root and install exposed on either and had nothing but issues it seems like us cellular models in specific do not get much support. Im hoping someone else uses US cellular as their carrier and could point me to a phone they offer that has less franchise modifications and they use both twrp and xposed framework/modules with.
any help is appreciated thanx in advance

I have tried using the xterstolite on the phone and it wasnt able to boot Ive heard of some using the sprint version but not getting data...but Id prefer to be able to install a decent OS on my phone and not run into this intricate compatibility issues
like I said im just looking for a phone that people have had success with using xposed as well as us cellular sp
