Are any restrictions for 5L in Razr-I ?
No restrictions on the hardware side. Go forward and do it.
A more serious problem is the missing manpower, to solve some problems because the source is not complete (cf. here).
I am always wondering why people think that it is self evident that someone will make perfect custom rom if the hardware allows it (kudos to them who do).

Thanks a lot for your answer! Until we are wondering we are living. The number of RAZR-I owner who are interesting in L5 is more then who are interesting in proper work of 4.4. beta (acc to threads list ) It is a magic our hardware allowance, isn't it?
If they are really keen on doing it, i'm sure they can. But at this point I just don't think it's worth it. Considering it is a 2 years old device. The more popular S3 didn't even get 4.4 and is stuck at 4.3, and that is around the same age as the RAZR i. They announced the 4.4.2 for RAZR i a long time back, and till now it is not out yet, which shows how little resources are being dedicated to bringing more updates to the RAZR i. I'm pretty sure 4.4.2 update when it does roll out will be the last update for the device.
I would be happy with a 4.4.2 with as little bugs as possible.
there's no hope, i remember in somehow that i read, this is the last upgrade to Ri, there's no more future plans to update this device...
but don't worry, maybe we can port 5L to Ri...
..."maybe"
The phone simply does not Cut it Performance wise. All those Animations...
Experts, once the Nexus 6 is rooted, would it be possible to roll it back to a KitKat firmware? I don't think I can live without Xposed, even more so with the gigantic screen of the Nexus.
I doubt anyone will look at this. Nexus 6 never came with kitkat. Unless it's ported rom or AOSP. Just wait and we will see.
Very doubtful... Would need too much work as it never had KitKat and wouldn't be worth the time/effort
This is likely never going to happen since there are no drivers and libs for kit kat for this device it would be a pain and probably be a buggy mess for a long time while it was figured out
We've a lot of devices updated to newer *unsupported* android versions therefore I think a downgrade is also possible but most will prefer L over Xposed+Kitkat anytime.
I don't see it happening.
When all is released and art is deemed final the dev of exposed said he would begin working again on getting exposed working on Lollipop and art ....he has done some work and said he had a build of exposed working on art so it may not be too long just have to have some patience. ..
This is not going to happen, it's wasteful resources to backport kit kat to the nexus 6 when this will take a lot of time to backport it. Xposed will simply need to adapt itself to work on Art in the long run.

In terms of Xposed all I want is system-wide Immersion mode. I want to make FULL use of this 5.96 inch display!!
U better off waiting for xposed to be updated

Crazy. Id be so pissed if I got a jacked up phone like that. Not so much if they were readily available in store and I could simply swap it out.
There's probably a better chance of somebody figuring out how to bake dalvik back into L.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
If someone with one could rip the rom off one but that guy probably didn't know he had something worth it ....just for drivers etc then we could build aosp with dalvik if it was not there, just for exposed ...not to mention easier way to turn off encryption
I too hope Xposed come soons. I'm dying without some of the features I had on my S3!
It'll probably be better to backport dalvik library than downgrading to kitkat.
Given the fact that Xposed does not work on art how will that affect your decision to upgrade to Android L?
Comments should include lots of beer for Rovo89.
Due to xprivacy needing xposed it's the only thing that makes me still use kitkat..

Aren't "no" and "I will wait until Xposed works with ART" the same answer? If you won't upgrade without Xposed ("No"), that seems to imply you would upgrade if it works with ART.
I'm willing to wait, there are a few Xposed mods I really care about like Xposed call block, full use of Greenify, MinMinLock and RootCloak, and others I could probably learn to live without but still find convenient like Chrome New Tab, CrappaLinks, Play Store link in App info, PlayPermissionsExpoxed, Statusbar Scroll to Top, and Swype Tweaks.
I upgraded my Nexus 7 to Lollipop (on Purity ROM) without Xposed, but I don't use that daily like my phone, so on that I'm wiling to wait, and even stay on KitKat indefinitely.
I can stick with KK for many more years.... Until Xposed come for LP, I WIL NOT have LP... Simple...
Perhaps it's just me, but, I'm also still on win7, until...
You may stick with KK and Xposed for years, but devs probably no. They would slowly abandon their modules, if Xposed framework development stopped.
Nah I will wait. There isn't single feature in Lollipop that isn't in KitKat.
I've been holding out, but just last night I decided to try out CM12 through MultiRom and now I'm completely torn.
On one hand, I have my beloved Xposed modules which add awesome functionality as well as some fantastic visuals (Flat Style Keyboard is the most difficult to give up...) and on the other hand is the absolutely beautiful experience of using Lollipop. I hadn't used it first-hand until now, and I was honestly blown away, and still am after using the rom all day today. Everything is just so much smoother and feels like it is working the way it should. I feel that with material design, Android finally stands up to iOS in terms of visual appeal, fluidness, and consistency.
*sigh* I suppose I'll find myself switching off between the two roms for a while, unable to choose one.
Still on 4.4.4, cause xposed isn't compatible with lollipop yet :-/

Rovo developes Xposed for other reason, not beer, not money. Let us hope he still has reason strong enough to open up ART so Xposed modules will work on Lollipop.
Point of clarification: "Android L" is an early version of Lollipop. Since then, we have seen Android 5.0, Android 5.0.1, and the latest is Android 5.0.2, which is the only Lollipop I have tried. After trying it for about 2 days, I went back because I felt need for my Xposed modules. But, after only a few hours off Lollipop, I went back to it! And then, began finding work arounds for missing features. ART is so smooth and responsive, and Lollipop has a great new recent apps switcher 'Rolodex' that is wonderfully fluid, useful, and fun. I love these and other things Lollipop brings. Found ways to deal with all desired features. Even Xprivacy issues have work arounds, thanks to App Ops in CM-12. None the less, while using and enjoying Lollipop, I am keeping up hope that Rovo brings Xposed to ART.
using CM12 without xposed
Please, that is exactly the reason why the dev have no motivation to spend energy in this project any more.
No question, exposed is a revolutionary mod for android geeks like us.
Don't put pressure on the dev!
Thanks for attention
Still on KitKat. Mainly because it allows me to continue maintaining and supporting my xposed modules.
Would be too uncomfortable to switch ROMs everytime I need to test stuff.
I decided to pull the plug on kitkat and upgrade my exynos S5. I'm definitely missing the xposed experience on my phone. Starting from the full use of greenify ( especially wake-up tracker and cutoff) to all the small tweaks and quirks we're doing to our UI, and the whole OS.
It made me not take for granted the huge amount of work put into the framework itself, and the work put in by the devs of all the modules that we use daily. Huge thanks to all the developers out there and I hope one day we will have a working version of the xposed framework for the new Android iteration.
I'm on my way to make a donation to the xposed framework Dev and I encourage others to do so too.
Plan on staying with KitKat unless I decide to switch to Cyanogen. Being on a Note 3 I kinda have mixed feelings missing some S-Pen functionality.
I had to make the jump, at least temporarily. . Definitely missing some things, but nothing I can't live without.
I've upgraded to Lollipop several times now, but have reverted to KitKat each time. Not specifically because of the XPosed incompatibility, although that affected my decision. Mostly because the ROM I'm using now on my i9300 has so much extra functionality. Secondarily, Lollipop simply isn't giving me the battery life I've been getting on the KitKat I'm using--and that's something I find very important in a ROM.
That being said, again today I've tried a newer version of what's billed as one of the better Lollipop ROMs for my set; we'll see if I stay with it.
I only have one XPosed module that I use, and it's visual, so...although I miss it, I can live without it.
Yep still on kitkit cm11, mostly because of xposed and XMG compatibility not present on cm12. stupid ART!
i would like to hit over to android 5, for the fact that call sound actually works with latest Google Play Services... but its a minor setback sticking with kitkat... not like i get called enough that it bothers me much, #foreveralone :crying:
still sucks that i cant use most gapps cause of this =/ (i restored factory version, which doesn't self update)
ah well will have to wait a few months to see the progress of xposed and xmg ART runtime compatibility

What about the hard work of developers who've been toiling away hard on the Lollipop ROMs bringing you various mods without xposed?

I'm modifying my own system files for lollipop. As an IT engineer I know my way around how Linux/Unix systems work, and have a bit of programming language background.
I was solely referring that we should support what we are using (as I used xposed and decided to support it into further development), but I'm not using any other "mods" from other developers.
Unlike the vast majority of Android users, I buy all my software.
But I believe that the users should support the work of their devs, or if you're developing something, I hope your users will support whatever it is you're working on (I've seen you have clearly taken offense)
No offense taken
With lollipop clearly just around the corner for our devices, we need to decide if the update is worth it.
I'm normally keen to grab the latest, but running rooted Kit Kat gives me lots of flexibility and support. Going to Lollipop will mean a lot of incompatible mods (at the very least for several months) with no significant advantage I can see. As a photographer, raw capture is of interest, but I'm not convinced it will live up to expectations.
Where's everyone else at?
I'm with ya. Lollipop has been buggy on many devices. My nexus 7 was really laggy on lollipop.
I made sure I rooted before the ota update happened. I'll stay on KitKat until all the bugs have been worked out. KitKat still works great on this phone. There's no reason for me to update until lollipop is proven to be stable.

I've been running cm12 for the last week or so and I'm loving it, really stable and looks so pretty. The camera quality has gone down but I'm still taking amazing shots. Regarding mods xposed has already been ported to lollipop and is apparently working rather well. Raw camera shots will probably not happen sorry, no phones except the nexuses (5 onwards) have implemented the APIs and chances are Sony wont. Everything else is great, battery almost as good and no crashes at all. If you're comfortable with flashing ROMs try cm12 with a stock backup . Also this should have been posted in Q & A not general.

i don't see any big reason why i have to update asap. i'm 100% satisfied with 4.4.4. it's a very stable platform which is improved all the way from 4.0.
i guess i will jump to Lollipop later maybe after it's been released for 6 months or so.

Yup! Just make sure you backup your DRM keys and you can always revert back to locked bootloader with DRM fuctions in place. This is assuming you have a Bootloader Unlockable=yes Phone.

This place is dead. Generic S6 forum is not much better. We have root, but nobody is doing anything with it.
Yeah.. it's seriously making me think of switching devices. I'm used to many custom roms, unlocked bootloaders, xposed, etc.. and this isn't cutting it for me. Sure, great device but.. I'm just not feeling it.
What is it you are wanting? We have cleanrom and a few other debated options and an available framework to let you customize the crazy outta your touchwiz. As far as AOSP or CM, give it time. It's a new device, a lot of hands are on it and after some time, more options will be available. When I bought my G2 on release day, it was a month before root and another before good rom options showed up and even longer before stable rom options we're brought to the table.

I don't understand why people buy a phone like this an expect a ton of development on it. Everyone knows AT&T locks bootloaders so there will be no AOSP ROMS for this device, especially with it packing an exynos processor. The root exploit has been patched in 5.1.1 so don't expect root unless you plan on tripping KNOX or never upgrading again. People really need to do research before they go out and buy a phone. If you need that much development, buy a nexus.

Exactly. I knew this going into getting another ATT phone (Active). It was either getting a phone I knew would work out of the box or getting a toaster oven with an 810 SOC. HTC and LG both failed this year IMHO and OPO2 will also be throttling back the 810 2.1 SOC. I wanted the active because of the bigger battery, but if those wanted ROMs on a S6 they should have just bought an international model outright.
I bought this phone expecting no development. The fact there's even root and roms for it is more than enough for me.

I went from a Nexus 5 (chronic flasher) to a no root Note 4 (now obviously s6) and I discovered that not having root or a million roms to flash caused almost zero issues. Having root and debloated roms on the s6 makes me completely happy. I just flashed XtraStoLite and it's awesome, even more customization and you choose only Samsung apps you want.
I haven't even rooted yet. Works fine for me. First phone I didn't root right away.

Yeah, the issues that made me feel like I absolutely had to root in the S4, S5, N4 are pretty much non issues with the S6 so I'm happy not rooting.

Probably the built in themer.
For everyone: when you buy a phone with a locked bootloader, you buy a phone that will have very limited development support (if a hack is found all the better, but don't count on one being found, they ain't easy to find). If you buy a Lamborghini are you going to complain you can't put the turbo you saw on your friends Mazda on it?

Alliance Framework and soon 3minit. You just need to flash a deodex ROM and to top it off, we are now seeing that you can flash roms from the international thread. I will attempt this myself 4th of July weekend and post videos on my channel if successful.
Honestly I think it's quickly getting to the point where rooting will be an afterthought. I rooted my S6 Edge and flashed back to stock within a week.

It's not hard, most are just an Aroma installer. I'm running one and it works great. The only weird thing was the Aroma installer screen flashes while you're selecting options you want to add/remove. I have an ATT S6 as well.

So I can Flash the deodexed ROM linked earlier with Flashfire then add the alliance framework with flashfire too? Still Kinda new to this(Had the s4 rooted and never flashed anything till after getting the s5 which was rooted with a custom ROM) and it seems like its a different method every phone. Im trying to read up on the different threads but dont have much time usually. Need to take a day and figure it out. Thanks for the help.
I'm not asking for cm or aosp (neither appeal to me), and neither do i want some shoddy kludged together community rom.
What I'd like is to see something like Xposed,,which works without issue on a completely stock+root install.
I've been doing this since the G1 days, and i just dont have the time or patience for it anymore. I have a hobby that to me, is far more satisfying and fun than jacking around with phones.
All i really want is to remove the volume warning and the redundant wifi notification.

Xposed is in alpha or pre alpha for TW devices. So it is in the works, just a ton of bugs and the install is pretty in depth at the moment.
Don't know about the volume warning, but the WiFi notification is easy if rooted. Get the CSC editor and search for WiFi. Blank this value and reboot.

I have up on roms (TW or AOSP/CM) based a long time ago due to glitches and bugs. The last thing I ever did with root was adaway but now many all developers and websites are getting content past adaway and ABP, so no point there even.
I had a problem with my Tab S not taking the lollipop update after rooting then un-rooting which kind of soured me it in general. I got it flashed back to stock at bestbuy and updated, but settings menu still shows status as Custom even though download mode shows Knox 0x0
