I asked as my best mate told me " 3.3-4.2 recommended for Z. Charge it once, using the pack. If it heats up, NEVER USE it again."
Anyways, this battery is pretty large... Maybe 3 XZ put together. Weighs in at around 420grams.
I don't think it's actually 20k mAh as I don't trust the Chinese, but if it's even 13k mAh (66%), it's not bad as I got it for 22$.

Where can i find a similiar thing?

it does heat up my S3 with my anker battery, but once it does I just leave it off for 20-30 min and let it charge. dont let the phone completely die or else it wont charge.

charges @ 1A so your fine
Got the same battery . The nice thing is you can also set it to 2A output. Modern electronics like our Xperia will automatically set the max input (1.5A most likely) so you benefit from the extra speed oppose to most 1A external batteries. It's like plugging into the Sony fast-charger. For an external battery speed is important imoh. Especially the XZ charges very fast when on low battery using the fast charger, which is very confenient.

When I try to charge my XZ at 2.1 it doesn't work - it just shuts down. It works at 1 though, do you think my charger is defective?

Not sure. Mine says 2v not 2.1. Maybe you have a little bit different version. Still te capacity and price are nice.

I'm running PAC rom not undervolted or anything and I realised it takes very long for the Xperia Z to charge itself. I went to take a nap at 4pm and woke up around 6.30, battery was 21% and I managed to only get it to 77% when I wake up. When I open Whatsapp or do some stuff on the phone while its charging, the battery percentage will go down instead of up. I'm using AC to charge and have tried the "Fast-Charge" mode on my motherboard which ups the current to 1.5A but the battery will still go down when charging. I'm not using the original Sony cable though, I'm using the one that came with the Galaxy S3 but I dont think the cable makes that much of an impact on charging the phone. Are any one of you experiencing this? How do I fix it?
On dock, it takes me i think less than two hours for a full charge (charge when I have between 5%-15% left).
Have you been on Doomlords kernel thread?
He links to an interesting warning from "Entropy512" in the OP post:
Here
I'm just a humble useless human being. I don't know jack **** about this, but I'm still guessing that you need a modified kernel maybe?
So do you think that the problem lies with my battery?

No the rom.
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
I think it should caused by your rom, you should flash another one, i suggest you use official rom
I'm trying Xperia Revolution with DoomKernel now, I'll see how it goes. Under-volted btw.
Reverted back to a stock based ROM and charging seems much better now, thanks for the advice!

Actually the cable makes a big difference as well. I am using an.htc cable and I get same problem as you. As soon as im using original cable the problem is gone.

the biggest difference IMHO is the transformator's amper output. I have an ipad4 and his current is 3A (!!) and when im charging my XZ with that transformator - charge time x3 faster. (around 1h for 100% batt.)

Agree to that, but also the cable. Well at least for me it makes big difference if I use different cable to the one supplied.

Doesn't sound very healthy
The title says it,don't tell me somethin like "look at the top right of your screen" cause I offline charge it. Now I turn off the phone, plugged in the charger, yay its charging. 5 hours later I go check on da phone,WTF? It doesn't say anything, the battery logo with the lighting icon is still da same! So how can you tell if its fully charged? Cause It never says anything. And don't tell me to turn it on and see if its a 100%.
Now that's pretty odd. Hmm, maybe its nothing. Try this,if you are running on an old firmware install the latest from the update centre,if you already are using the latest firmware try resetting it,not just the settings but with the data being wiped as well.

Cause if you charge your phone while its off,its a thorugh charge. If its own it won't be fully charge, its resources are still used. I called Sony and asked them about it,also years back when I owned a lg,nokia and samsung device. They all said the same charging your phone while its off is the best thing, cause its a thorough charge.

Yeh and that's gonna save you what.. 1% better battery life over 2 years? And you gotta turn off/on your phone every night/morning.
With idle usage of XZ and 1500mAh charger it will charge 100% no problem

Talk about paranoia, just use it normally, don't turn it off, unless you're planning to keep the phone for the next 10 years. It _might_ have made a difference in the past with the _old_ batteries, but with LiPo it makes little difference.
Safe yourself the trouble.
I thought the phone has a Li-Ion not Li-Po.

When you guys gonna stop talking bout the water strip thing? Okay so you sayin its useless if its a Li-Ion battery right? Provide me some more details please, chemically or scientifically.

There is no way of telling short of changing the way the notification light works for charging and I wouldn't even know where to start with that. Just leave it on, the XZ charges (with official charger) in like under 2 hours anyway, you're only making things difficult for yourself.

Nobody here can help you, get it to a repair shop and the guys there will know what to do. It's a hardware issue apparently, and a Samsung service center should be able to fix it.

Are you root and have you got a custom recovery installed?
If you are you might want to drain your battery, then charge it fully; to remove your battery stats (in CWM). That might help.
If its just your charger not charging your phone, that might indicate that youre charger isnt working, have you got another usb cable? try charging it while its connected to the pc to make sure the AC adapter itsself isnt broken.
Cheers.
hey
