You couldn't find anything helpful in forums? weird
Use Easy root toolkit or gifroot ( its new and I have not tested it ) . Also, you need to download latest SuperSU from chainfire site and put it on sd card
Flash 230 kernel using flashtool
Root using above mentioned methods.
Install recovery. example, NUT's dual recovery latest 2.8.2. You need to download installer zip and not the flashable zip.
After installing the recovery, check the phone reboots into philz touch recovery.
Chose to install zip and select SuperSU 2.XX zip file. Flash the zip
Reboot the phone and check root access.
Flash 283 kernel using flashtool
easy tool rootkit?
I tried this too but im stuck on deamom started successfully. I tried reinstall and instakl abd fastboot driver. And i cant use any recovery tool it ask for root.
touch recovery
And how to boot into touch recovery. As im using easy root toolkit on. 283 kernal should i have to flask. 230 kernal then easy root toolkit will work? I mean are u sure it wontbstuck on deamon started successfully.? Btw i already habe superuser as my system app i cant uninstall it, but it not updating or giving any app access.
And one more thing my wifi dontbturn on when i flash. 230 kernal ftf file.

Just follow the steps I mentioned.
You can not directly root 283. You will have to flash 230 kernel.
Then Root > Install recovery > at the end of installation of recovery phone will automatically boot into recovery mode.
Then flash latest SuperSU 2.40 zip from recovery menu.
after that check root access with root checker app. Then flash the 283 kernel
kernel device not supported
K after flash I try to root but it say ur kernel device not supported. Also my wifi not work when I flash. 230 so how to I install recovery.
And when I use one click root toolkit it stuck on season started successfully, and on giefroot deacon started but after few process it say kernel devices not supported.

May be you are doing something wrong because I have mentioned the steps which I used multiple times.
Check USB debugging is enabled in settings > developer options. and Unknown Sources enabled in settings >security
when easy root tool is started, you will see a prompt on phone. keep eye on that because disappears quickly.
thanx i rooted
Bro, thanx a lot i rooted my phone now, mistake was one click root toolkit or geofroot not work. After flash i root with towelroot and then update super su i didnt do any recovery reboot. Just grant access in flashtool.
Again thanx.

First, make sure you have a custom recovery installed (TWRP or CWM). Then download the latest supersu flashable ZIP from http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu, put it on your SD card and install via TWRP/CWM. That's it.
cant

Try to flash Shaaan's JB root zip, or try to flash SlimKat again.
Last and option that will work 100% is to flash stock JB from Odin and root it.

Hello,
I have my ZR (5503) rooted with 4.4 the bootloader is locked. Since I am not a dev or something i want to test it first. I tell what i did if a dev want to know how i did it.
I had a ZR with 4.1/rooted/recovery on it.
I used a 10.5.A.0.530 NCB file for to start.
I followed this guide (thread) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307311
Almost at the end you have to flash the created zip in recovery. After that i flashed the SuperSU_fix.zip and update-SuperSU-v1.86.zip (i dont know if it was needed).
Then i switch the mobile off and flash the FTF file (10.5.A.0.530NCB) with system excluded (flashtool).
After this i boot in 4.4 and then checked if i had root and it was. The recovery was lost but i managed to get it back with the ZRDUALRECOVERY
Now i go to do the proces again and make a tutorial and maybe put the files somewhere.
I am happy already,
Try to use the Remount reboot fix by nut
and use foldermount and check as this is the most important thing to me

Hello,
I found a way for to get root with kitkat 4.4 and a locked bootloader.
Try at won risk! I am not responsible for things that go wrong.
what you need for to start :
working recovery and root 4.1, 4.2 or 4.3 (i had a 4.1 android version)
Flashtool
steps:
download :
zrkitkat5503.zip https://mega.co.nz/#!DYZwTRhL!6kYealPTKNZT_YX7Zgp3gvs6BP7dcBcVa7FyZBw72qg
stripped rom 4.4 : https://mega.co.nz/#!2YZn3LyB!JKCaBQdMpkqxiO6UbbsXeF3aNgvaoe9Z6iNEERCF7aY
Update Super SU: https://mega.co.nz/#!LEIwGDCS!KVxVB-wYlClhblPY-g5MQ71D_7U2acd7hwwqAxJj20c
Recovery: https://mega.co.nz/#!GIpWEJjJ!0gEIZawEwKuvmEZ4LQm-4ZCmduoy7kxwxDLSResqvUQ
copy kitkatzr5503.zip to your external memorycard.
unzip the su-binary fix and copy it to memorycard.
boot in recovery and wipe cache partition, wipe Dalvik cache and wipe Data/Factory reset.
flash the kitkatzr5503.zip and after that flash the su-binary fix.
DONT BOOT!
power off and get your phone in flashmode , flash the stipped 4.4 rom with flashtool.
reboot and you will have root, install zrdualrecovery again and then everything works.
for sure someone else can make a more nice way for to install it but this works. And if someone make a better tutorial let me know. Also i dont have experience with MEGA for file sharing. If there is a better way let me know.
succes

Can I just flash the stock 4.4 FTF and unchecking the system instead of using the stripped rom you have provided?
Yes you can as the kernel in the picture expresses the version of the 4.4 version of android
I already done it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2765062
Hi
I Rooted My Xperia Z1 C6903 4.4.2 build number 0.757 with easy root tool and towelroot and installed superSU. My Bootloader is locked and I don't have any recovery installed on my device. RootChecker stated that my device is rooted and i have an installed busybox but when i want to use MOD EDIT Mention of WAREZ is strictly forbidden It says that busybox not found and MOD EDIT mentions of WAREZ is strictly forbidden doesn't work. I don't have write access to system partition as well. I tried nextApp for fixing sd card access but it doesn't work because of system partition permission. How can i fix this? can you help me?
i don't want to loose my data, and i love my camera as well
Another Question is if i update my phone to 4.4.4 bulid 0.108 , can i root and have system partition write permission, as i can now update my device through Sony Update Center on my phone ? Can It harms my phone to update while it is rooted?
thanks for your helps
MOD EDIT
Further mention of WAREZ can and will lead to an infraction. Further instances will lead to a ban.
Any problems please pm me. @gregbradley
You forget to disable RIC protection service. Install recovery will disable it or just flash disable_ric file. Wait you don't have recovery........
Just flash full FTF of .108 via FlashTool, it's the easy way to update your ROM with minimal bug..... And yes, .108 is rootable....
MOD EDIT Removed quote about WAREZ @gregbradley
Kindly install busybox app from play store and open it once installed. U will find a option like "Install Busybox" just do it. It will install busybox on different path rather than it was been installed during rooting. (I can't remember exact path for both the conditions right now). I hope this will help you to resolve the issue of busybox not found.

Install recovery is the good thing. You can restore your device from any backup if something is wrong. You can install different mod like True stereo, sound mod, theme, etc and the good thing is you dont lost anything (except for UB..)
Yes, flash via FlashTool will wipe all of your data so make sure to backup it before doing any thing. And the camera is fine and they are always improve in the latest update (Faster camera start time, increase image quality...)
No, you cant flash disable_ric via FlashTool..C'mon FT is for FTF file, kernel and bootloader file only.....

Hey guys
I am a beginner and after going through many threads here i finally rooted by xperia z1 C6903 using kingroot.
The phone rooted successfully......even checked by root checker.
The problem is some app does not work properly for example greenify does not hibernate anything.......supersu or super user displays error while installing (asking for reboot) ,,,busy box shows error while installing (choose different location).
can some one help me in assessing that ( is my phone rooted properly),
however king root grants are successful.
phone: xperia z1 telecom de version
os: 4.4.4
14.4.A.0.157
rooted in the same condition without any downgrade

u have to replace the provided su of kingroot into chainfire's SuperSU.
And how can this be done?

flash SuperSU from recovery, it should delete kingroot and install SuperSU on it and then restart, open the app and then update binary normal way.

for your Z1 use Nut's dual recovery, its the best and easy to install and there is lots of instructions available ! you can get the package from nut's website, (http://nut.xperia-files.com/ click XZDualRecovery -> 2.8.20 -> take Z1-lockeddualrecovery2.8.20-RELEASE.installer.zip NOT flashable and download it...
installing SuperSU delete the one you have, you need flashable version wich can be located here https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
then just put it to your sd card and reboot to recovery, from recovery select install zip from sd card, select that supersu file you just put in there and install it, then just reboot and done.
Thank u soo much Migidid bro.....I followed the said procedure and successfully installed dual recivery and supersu, Thanks alot once again, i wanna donate..............love andorid...love sony
Just press thanks button and we're cool
