[Q] Flashing issues - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i have CM12 rom, but it was very buggy so i want to change back to pac-rom, thats not so easy turns out. twrp recovery was removed with rom and im left with cm recovery which has no option to flash rom. So im trying with Flashtool, i choose stock firmware, flashmode, its waiting for flashmode, i press vol down and plug in cable, i see sony logo and then battery icon but it doesnt enter flashmode. So how can i fix this? I Just want back to pac-rom, where people can call me without my phone rebooting etc.. Maybe i can try installing dualrecovery and flashing pac-rom via that? Pls help

[Q] Bricked?

Hello, I installed CWM, then I wanted to flash .254 kernel in CWM. It flashed, then I tried to reboot. And now I cant power on my device. Only thing it does when I hold power button is one vibration and that's all. No screen, nothing. Tried connect to PC and nothing. Pls help me. I have locked bootloader.
EDIT: Finally I managed FlashTool drivers to work, so I am able to connect to fastboot mode(blue notification light) and flash mode(green notification light). What to do now? What to flash, and how? Pls help
EDIT2: Problem Solved. With Sony SUS back to stock.

Fastboot cm11 kernel and then try to boot device.
It's kernel problem...
If that won't do the job, do this:
Flash stock firmware through pc companion, root it and install recovery.
Edit:sorry, my bad - I meant flash stock ftf through flashtool...
Download CM ROM again and flash it.
Make sure flashable zip contains boot.img, that's kernel.
You can drive cm rom on stock kernel, your device will stuck in loop...

He can not do this as he unlocked the boot, instead use flashtool to flash a stock FTF then carry on
root it and install recovery.

cnyoen mod 11 boot loop problem
but right now as i said the loop is not allowing the phone to charge.
when little charged the loop is draining the battery and the mobile is switching off.
due to this i am unable to go into fast boot or repair through pc companion
but iam able to go into cwm recovery.
any help to recover ?
Press and hold both the volume up and power button until the phone vibrates 3 times.
Then you can flash the CM kernel
Inside the update.zip is boot.img file, flash with fastboot using the following
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then enter recovery and flash the update.zip
EDIT
If you can enter recovery just flash the update.zip
If you have unlocked the boot it should work
i held the power and volume up button and waited for 3 vibrations.
then tried to flash by pressing vol u p button and then the usb cable into te mobile.
but there is no blue light i only see the red light and after some time the cynogen mod boot loop appears.
pls help .
enter recovery and flash the update.zip
Where did you download it from?
i am trying t enter recovery .
i downloaded the cm mod from : download.cyanogenmod.org/device=honami it s a nightly build

That's not recovery, that's flashmode.
Reboot the phone and repeatedly press the volume up button as its booting to get in recovery
Then flash the update.zip
r u there .. can u suggest anything...
Yes, follow my instructions
Enter recovery and flash the update.zip
Do you know how to get into recovery? I have told you in my last post. You seem to have recovery mixed up with flashmode.
You need recovery.
once i reboot the phone and while pressing the vol up button should i connect to pc ?

No, recovery is on the phone, it has nothing to do with the computer.
Please follow the instructions as I have given them
powered the phone and kept on pressing the vol up .. the red light initially there vanished and the screen is blank. i dint see any activity after i powered on the phone except for the red liht flashed 2 times and the light vanished.
OK, leave the phone on charge for a few hours .
Then try again.
If you cannot enter recovery you need to fastboot the kernel from the update.zip and the enter recovery after that.
If all else fails, just flash a stock FTF using flashtool
how do i know if my phone is charging , becoz yesterday i charged my phone whole night .
but in the morning i still see that it does not get till the boo screen.
is this a hardware problem?

What are you talking about??
He can't use fastboot because he unlocked bootloader!?
That's the exact thing you can do when you unlock bootloader...You can flash custom kernel.
If he use kernel image with recovery he has everything..

Hi, i flashed the CM12 rom, but it was very buggy so i decided to go back to pac-rom. But the cm12 rom switched to a cm bootloader, which sucks since i cannot flash rom from there.. But phone is working and im trying to flash with flashtool. Its waiting for flashmode, phone is off, i press the volume down and insert the cable, but nothing happens, i have installed drivers successfully. What happens on the phone side is that i see the sony logo, then the battery/charging. Help?

If the battery charging comes up, looks like the volume down button is not being recognized, check if you are able to get the fastboot/bootloader mode. press and hold Volume Up and connect usb should see a blue led, if so try flashing boot.img from any other rom, if possialbe system and userdata. you could try this ASOP ROM to start http://www.blinkenlights.ch/ccms/android/yuga-l.html
Anyone else? i get into cm bootloader, but there is no option to flash new rom..

Twrp bootloop cant power off to use flashtool

Hi
My D5803 locked bootloader stuck in twrp bootloop after i attempt to instal slimm 3.8 rom. I have try to flash stock prerooted but phone still boot to TWRP only.
On reboot tab system, power off, recovery, bootloader all result boot back to TWRP.
Is there any way i can get phone back to work?
thanks
Do you have back up on your phone? You can restore your back up or connect your phone to your pc companion and repair to install rom update.

I dont have backup unfortunately.
Have try sony companion but as phone is always in twrp i cant swith it off and connect to pc with volume down pressed.... same problem with flashtool.......
sorted. Maybe it will be usefull for someone in future - hold vol+ and power to switch off phone from TWRP, then use companion.

Unable to flash any ROMs?

So after some confusion, I managed to get my Z1 rooted and got the dual CWM/TWRP recovery installed. However, I've tried flashing several ROMs in TWRP, but when I reboot, the phone won't start up. It will just vibrate when I push the power button. If I plug it in my PC , the LED will flash red. If hold the volume down and plug it in, it'll go to flashmode. If I hold in volume up and plug it in, it'll go to fastboot. But that's all I can do. It won't boot the ROM that I flashed and I can't get into recovery. The only way to fix this, is to boot into flashmode and use the flash tool to flash the .108 ftf file.
Please help. Why aren't any ROMs booting? What am I doing wrong.
EDIT: I am really at the end with this phone. Nothing but frustration. Someone please help, I've spent hours and tried so many different combinations of flashing in CWM and in TWRP. I've tried multiple times to flash with fastboot. I've tried everything I can possibly think of, the phone's bootloader is unlocked. Just every single custom ROM and kernel combo will simply refuse to boot.
