Diamond Speakerphone Speaker DEAD

The speakerphone speaker on my HTC Diamond is blown. I've tried loading the stock Sprint ROM and an updated MightyROM and the speaker still doesn't work so I am pretty sure I've ruled out a software issue.
Can anyone help me with repairing/replacing the speaker??

you sure its the speakerphone only. have you plugged the headphones in to see if you can get sound from the stereo output?

if ur headphone are working and the loud speaker the one that plays the music is working then u need to change the other speaker which is beside the light sensor. heres a video http://pockethacks.com/htc-diamond-disassemble-video/
and his a manual pdf of how to disassemble it.. i used this when i had to replace mine.. pretty easy.. make sure you put all ur screws and parts in a bucket or something.. too some time to find the screw when it fell on the floor.. gud luck

I didn't think to check that. I just tried the headphones and they work great. I guess that narrows it down to the speaker or speaker connection.

I have the CDMA version of the Diamond. It looks like the one in this video is the GSM version. Still trying....

sounds like the speaker or speaker connection is at fault. Get it serviced or replaced through your insurance.

I have exactly the same problem with my Telus HTC Touch Diamond. The speaker used for speakerphone/music/games is dead, but I can still hold the phone to my ear and make phone calls. Does the Diamond have two separate speakers?

Hi benchmarkone you have the Htc ''Victor'' it's the same as the htc Diamond, but with a different design/battery, and the Diamond/Victor have 1 speaker(for the music,game,etc..) and 1 earphone(for the call).
I can't help you much, the only solution is sending the phone to get repair

Thanks for confirming that there are two speakers. That pretty much narrows it down to a hardware issue. Damn, if only I knew how to disassemble the thing.

Microphone not working after solving "MicroPError"

Hello,
My HTC Diamond on last week gets "MicroPError" and no backlight.
I dismounted the phone to clean the interior and fix the connections inside, after mountin it, the backlight was fixed and I was happy with it, because I could fix the problem on my phone, but when I make the first call, i realised that I fixed one problem and get another one.
So now, the problem on my phone is when I make or when I receive a call no one can hear me.
Can someone help me trying to fix my phone.

Ya i can help you. The problem is the with the 2 golden hook like connectors.[ Near the camera ] You might have bend it in the process of cleaning.
To be specific , the top portion of the mobile when removed controls the speakers. You can easily spot the golden connector and make sure that it touches the upper metal connector when closing the top cover.

By the way this is not the connector for the speaker? My problem is not on the speaker, my problem is on the microphone.
My problem is not ear the others, but the other can't ear me on a phone call, so the problem is on the microphone, don't you agree?
Do you have another idea for this problem?

Check your microphone connections at the lower bottom . One with a black cap.

I checked it again, and the connections of the microphone sims to be fine.
I think the microphone itself is damaged, because I make another test.
I tryed to use the Voice Recorder, and found that if I talk normal on the recorder, when I play the sound, my voice is very low, almost not earable and a lot of noise, if I talk louder, when playing the sound my voice is already possible to ear, but also with a lot of noise, this is the reason for thinking that the problem is on the microphone. By the way, the black cap of the microphone falls down when I opened the phone for cleaning on the first time, is it normal.
If the problem is, as I think on the microphone, is it possible to replace the microphone, or it must be replaced the pc-board.

I have a Desire 500 and I replaced the screen and since, I can't hear the dialling tone or the person on the other end, incoming or outgoing, I have to turn on loudspeaker or use earphones. Just to add I've replaced many phone screens for customers without a problem. I've checked the connections etc and all seem ok. just wondering if anyone knows what caused it. Is it a sensor that's faulty or something. The speaker works in music and video etc. Is there another speaker?, as I can only see the one at the top about 15mm long.
I've done a factory reset as I know sometimes you have to after a screen replacement.

There is a speaker on the back of the phone.

I have disassembled the phone myself pretty often,
did you connect these little white cables correctly and also the flex cables?
You probably might need to check the connectors there.

Iv'e not got the phone in front of me right now, but do you mean the back you take off to get to the battery etc?
I know the speaker that sits just below the main circuit board, but couldn't see any others.

You say "These little white cables", so i'm looking for a picture but you haven't attached one.
The only cables are the 3 flex ribbon cables, antenna (2 ends) and the vibrate motor.
And they are all fine.
As I said it rings and plays music and works on loud speaker.

Not sure how it happen, Just buy from a guy in Craigslist and find out it have no sound.
No sound at all ( that mean when turn on no sound, using the phone no sound, call no sound - the call app freeze or foreclose when call), YouTube foreclose when I hit play, sound recorder foreclose when I hit record ( look like any apps touch to the sound thing will foreclose when run)

At first I think it was water damage but when I look at water indicator it still white.
Second, if It got water damage why all the apps utilize sound fail? Maybe only one speaker or microphone fail when they get wet?
I ask the guy and he said the phone got like this because last update. hard to believe ppl on CL but I have seen some phone lost sound because update too.

One way is trying another Motherboard or its the speaker and Microphone damage, you can try changing the Speaker and Mic to see it that works or get another MB.

Did you do a full odin to stock? Like completely wipe everything

Did you test the phone before you bought it?

Have you tried using a Bluetooth or wired headphone? If the previous owner used a cheap wired headphone and the tip of the headphone broke inside of the jack. Software on the phone is going to redirect all audio and mic to the headset jack. With no headset present it would render the internal microphone and internal speakers useless

I did full Odin flash but no luck. But maybe have to supper wipe? Do you know anyway can completely wipe the phone and install new firmware?

The problem is the recorder app foreclose when I hit record. and any other app use sound like youtube will foreclose when I hit play too

There is no tip of headphone jack inside the phone, I tried with good headphone but no luck too.
All of the app use sound will foreclose when I hit play and sound recorder foreclose when I hit record

try downloading a mixer_paths.xml file it worked for me before,if you can't find the file for some reason i can e-mail it to you

I will try the "mixer_paths.xml" when I get home. I'm in business trip until middle of this month. Thank you guys for great help.

The phone turn out is hardware issue. There is a small corrosion on the board.
Anyone in here offer anything for it before I sell it on ebay?

Question Zenfone 8 problems with speakerphone during phone calls

Has anyone have such problem with speakerphone during phone (or whatsapp/viber etc) call that
All MIC's passes tests OK, record and then play my voice very well and loud.
But when I call someone or someone call to me and I active speakerphone to put phone away from my ear - there are mess like echoes, some robotic voice like signal excitation and interference started each time for person on the other end of the line. Person hears himself more often than my voice. So it's impossible to talk normally on speakerphone. I hear companion very good, but for him it's mess. But if I deactivate speaker and use earphone (in front of my ear) - then everything is ok for me and person on the line.
Does anyone know what could be wrong? Problem persists on each FW which means that problem is hardware. I checked all mics in ,12345+= test utility. Every single microphone is ok. But it seems that when they work together - sometihng is going wrong. There are 3 mic's in this phone. First one is located on board 90AI0060-R10010 (bottom left corner), and this part can be replaced, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Second one is located in top upper part on main board and it looks like it can only be repaced by replacing motherboard which is cost a lot of $$$ which is not acceptable for devices not covered by warranty anymore (unlocked BL). Third mic installed on board 90AI0060-R10020 under back cover (where rear camera is located) and also can be replaced, price about 10USD.
But where is controller/unit which operate by these mic's?
Is there anyone who has or had such problem? What part(-s) were replaced is service under warranty?

I hat similar problems. I tried a lot of adjustments at the apps and the phone. Set the phone to factory settings. Nothing helped. Even the upgrade to Android 12 didn't change anything. Finally I sent it for warranty repair to Asus workshop and now I am waiting to get it back. Hopefully tomorrow I can tell you the result.

Ok, please also let me know (if possible) what part(-s) will be replaced.
There are 3 microphones in our phone. And I guess two of them are operate during phone calls on speaker. Main mic on sub-board which is located at the bottom of phone and second one - noise-canselling MIC which is located on motherboard (top part of phone).

Hi, today I've got it back. The workshop protocol says they made a firmware reset (same I already did before and told them). And the result is, the fault is still the same. This was second time I sent it for repair. First time the WLAN module broke down. They changed the motherboard and after getting it back from the asus workshop the the speakerphone function didn't work any more. You can see, there are absolutely specialist at work.
