hi
I upgraded to helmi 3.5 last week, all run good untill yesterday when the phone lost signal, it just has a '!' next to it i've tried soft and hard reset but still same problem. i've checked the wireless manager which says phone is on. does anyone have any idea how to solve this.would flashing the radio or rom again solve this
thanks
Try booting up without a sim card, switch the phone on and off again once or twice in Comm Manager, then put your card back in.
tried that but no luck. in the phone settings it says 'no service' do you think the radio has failed or possibly it needs sim unlocking again
"No service" suggests that the phone itself is on and not seeing anything. Otherwise you'd be seeing "Phone off". Have you tried any other sim cards, or even giving your own a wipe?
You could be having the same problem as the one in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289761 ?
solved
thanks guys for trying to help i just updated to xplodes rom and now works fine but thanks for the advice it was much appreciated
I've flashed Hard SPL and flashed the new radio version: 1.13.25.24 and now I am recieving no signal atall, it says no service and when i try to connect to the network (02-UK) it says it cannot connect or something like that. It says "Cannot register on selected network, choose another network, or disconnect your data connection and try again" even though I have no USB plugged on.
Please can you help me

Wow, thats really helpful
How did you solve the network problem?
I am too getting same error..
I downgraded to RC29 in order to root my G1. I have not been able to sign in with an active Google account no matter what i do. I followed the instructions word for word from this website only to find myself stuck. I have wiped from the recovery screen and reinstalled RC29 with the same results. I get the following message; "there is a problem communicating with the Google servers. this could be a temporary problem or your sim card may not be provisioned for data services". My sim card is activated and i have checked APN settings and all seem to be fine. Any help would be appreciated.
try this.

Some more details on what items you downloaded and "psted" on /system could be helpful.
That error message usually appears when the OS is unable to initialize the wireless device. Have you tried rebooting to make sure it's not a temporary issue? Other than that, I would suggest flashing a different kernel - which should replace the wifi driver module and hopefully get it working again.
got it fixed.. i reverted to frg83 and wifi works well but when i update to frg83d, wifi error pops again.. i decided to stick with frg83 instead..
Hi. So, I just got a Samsung S3 GT-I9305 from Vodacom. Got it from eBay. But, I'm having trouble connecting to the wifi. Whenever I connect to the wifi it always says "Authentication error occurred". I turned off the wifi thingy using *#0011# and wiped the cache, I even reset the phone to its factory settings. I sometimes connect to a wifi, but it takes 1 hour or so before being connected. And I have trouble downloading from the playstore. Did everything I could find from the web. No luck.
So, I was thinking, If I would flash a custom rom to my device, will it fix the wifi issue? And would any stock firmware of the I9305 device work?
Thanks! Sorry for being noob.

Hi,
I think it could be a router issue. You should :
- reset your router and retry to connect with your i9305,
- play with WIFI network settings in router. Maybe something doesn't allow your i9305 connection (network type, firewall, etc.). I'm not an expert in router settings, so you could google this to help you.
- try another WIFI network (from a friend, at work, anywhere you can test )
I think that flashing a custom ROM won't change anything. First try to fix your problem with stock firmware.
