Hello MIUIers,
This Guide is for flashing any MIUI Rom (Global/China Developer/Global Beta Build/Stable ROM) on Redmi 2 using MI Flash and Fastboot ROM(Fastboot Method).
FAQs
Q.What's the difference between Recovery ROM and Fastboot ROM?
A: 1) To flash Recovery ROM, you just need to put the ROM file into your device's SD card root directory, and flash it in Recovery mode. Flashing Recovery ROM will not wipe your user data or the files in internal storage.
A: 2) To flash Fastboot ROM, you'll need to connect your device to a computer, and use ROM flashing tools. You can choose different fastboot script to decide whether to wipe data or not
Q: When should I flash Recovery ROM, and when to flash Fastboot ROM?
A: Normally you just need to flash Recovery ROM for regular update. If you want to wipe data to solve some bugs/issues etc., you should flash Fastboot ROM.
Caution:**This ROM and thread is Only applicable for 2014818, 2014811, 2014813 and 2014817 Redmi 2/PRIME LTE models... ​
Everything is possible in FASTBOOT
Pre-requisite:
At least 50% charged phone
USB cable to connect your phone
A working PC running on Windows OS
Developer option must be enabled. To do this Settings>>About phones >> tap on the MIUI Version 7 times
USB debugging must be enabled. To enable it Settings >> Additional Settings>>Developer Options >> enable USB Debugging.
Note: Take a backup before you proceed. To take backup Settings–>Additional Settings–> Backup & reset –>Local Backup-→Backup. The backup will be store on Internal Storage–>MIUI -> Backup–>All Back up. Copy and store the backup files on your PC. This backup file will be needed if you wants to go back of previous version.
Required Files for Flashing MIUI ROM in Fastboot Mode :
Download the Latest ROM you need to Flash (Global/China or Developer/Stable) and ROM Flashing tool (MI Flash).

Restore to OEM FULL Flash fastboot method:
1. Download ROM from the above link (Which One you Want to Flash) and extract it to Desktop.
Note: - Some users get error while extracting onDesktop Because there is space in the username of PC or the folder as shown.
The users should put the ROM In C Drive in a folder without spaces. E,g C:/ROM/MIUI
The Error shown when using space between foldername.
2. Download flashing tool from the above link and install it.
3. Once installation is complete, Run MiFlash application
4. Click on browse
5. Select ROM folder from Desktop(From the location where ROM is saved)
Note: -The path of the ROM folder Should be like "C:\Users\Muzamil\Desktop\MIUI" Not "C:\Users\Muzamil\Desktop\MIUI\images"
6. Turn off the phone, press and hold the Volume Down key and the Power button at the same time to enter Fastboot mode, then connect the phone to a computer.
7. Press Refresh button to see you device in flashing tool.
After pressing refresh button you will see connected device.
Here You have 3 options to select.
Choose the options carefully as per your need:-
1. Flash_all:- Clears all the data of the built-in storage, clear all user data, please be careful!(Clean Install)
2. Flash_all_except_storaget:- Will erase all user data does not clear the built-in storage data.
3. Flash_all_except_data_storage:- Does not clear the built-in storage data does not clear user data
Note:- It is advised to take all personal data backup on PC/Laptop
8. Click on Flash and it will start process
9. Once flashing process completes Device will automatically reboot. Reboot might take upto 5 minutes.
Thus Flashing the MIUI Rom is done easily.

Not working for my redmi 2,i've download 3times with different developers of redmi 2 & when i used "save user data" its says error, & i use with "clean all " and flash, and yes it did flash but after automatic reboot its showing only mi logo and then a black screen appeared forever.. Please help me solved it

I am also facing this issue for me before flashing is complete my phone gets rebooted and in MiFlash status it shows $Pause and only MI logo is showing and going to bootloop. Did you get a solution?

I got the solution the problem was the battery when I replaced the battery there is no problem.

try to install latesh mi flash tool in pc. then check if it shows ur device in mi flash tool clean flash ur device with latest stable miui version.

How do you want me to enable developer mode from settings if my phone is bricked and I can not turn it on...?

If you have any custom recovery installed, flash custom ROM through SD card.
It's your pc's problem change to laptop and USB cables it will definitely work.

Wait for device in adb mode I try adb kill server. Adb start server also no respond . The phone is dead 9008. And I start with SD card image. But can't unlocker boodloader. In 9008 Qfil saraha fail. Very trobles.

In case we flash with adb tool using fast boot mode. It will restore its original recovery i.e. cyanogen recovery.
TWRP will get supressed by cynaogen recovery.

Steps to flash factory image
Download the LOLLIPOP factory image fastboot package for YU YUREKA PLUS from Here
Extract the contents of the fastboot package into a folder.
Download this flashing tools package from here
Extract the contents of the flashing tools zip into the same folder
To make sure, check that system.img, boot.img etc files are in the same folder as flash-all.bat, fastboot.exe etc
Connect your phone in fastboot mode, steps for which are : -
a. Power off your phone
b. Press and hold the Volume Up key
c. With the Volume Up key, connect the phone to your PC/Laptop with USB cable
d. You can let go off the Volume Up key when Fastboot Mode is displayed on the screen
Run flash-all.bat by double clicking on it.
A command window will open and flashing procedure will start
DO NOT disconnect the device during flashing procedure
The command window will close after the flashing process is over.
Disconnect the USB cable, and boot the phone normally by long pressing the Power button.

Firstly, Thanks a Million~! I wish I could hit the thanks button a hundred more times. ~! After endless and fruitless searches and solutions offered (Not blaming anyone, everyone is actually doing a great job here on XDA), I finally decided to search one more time and found your post. Followed all your steps and my soft-bricked Yureka is alive again. My problem was that the phone suddenly restarted and continuously would re-boot after showing the YU logo, occasionally going to Cyanogen Logo and restarting again. This went on for three days and nights while I tried to do clean wipes, changing recoveries, flashing roms, but nothing worked. Your tool worked for me :good: I will post a separate thread for others facing similar problems directing them to this thread. ( With your permission obviously ). God bless you~!
P.S. : Everything is working great. But both the IMEI's are messed up, so no network and no calls. Any solution?

Yureka Bootlooping Issue
Let me tell you all in detail to come near the good solutiion of my problem
1. Mobile was working well then i rooted it and flashed TWRP.
2. Flashed Hexagon ROM worked well.
3. Flashed MIUI 8 ROM worked well.
4. Flashed CM14 Booted up but didn't work well and started bootloop.
5. Then I formatted internal storage and re flashed MIUI 8 ROM.
6. All was working well and suddenly before 3 days phone started auto rebooting and bootlooping.
7. Then i restored factory setting and formatted mobile then flashed again MIUI 8 but problem was not solved.
8. Flashed again Hexagon ROM and then CM 14 and then MIUI 8 step by step but problem still remain auto rebooting and bootloop.
9. got thread about this on XDA and they said to flash Stock ROM with fastboot kit . Tried same but problem solved only for 2 or 3 hours.
10. Now the problem is MOBILE GOES ON BOOT LOOP WHEN I PLUG OFF THE CHARGER OR USB CABLE
11. I went to service center and they tried to flash CPB FILE OF STOCK ROM by YGDP but they said my device not detecting in YGDP.
12. I tried same (YGDP FLASH) with my laptop and got same problem.
13. Got some solution about Drivers.. they said to uninstall all drivers and then try again .... did same but still same ...

Your are having motherboard issue or a battery so check battery if it is working well the you have motherboard problem so just contact yu service center.

First of all thanks a lot for the tool and it is really very helpful. I had almost bricked my phone and this tool help me get it back to work. However after I installed CM12.1 , I decided to flash CM13 latest nightly and from that point onwards, my phone is not getting network. It recognizes the SIM card but for some reason it does not get network. I tried flashing modem but it did not work either. Can you please help me? Also, the WiFI is working fine.

Also when I try to flash via fastboot it fails --> fastboot flash partition gpt_both0.bin --> FAILED to write partition
Any idea how to try to fix this? You think your scrip for the partition table can help?

I tried many different ways to flash any ROM into it without any success. I read somewhere in the miui eu forums that the redmi2 pro had a stupid software update that was not meant for one type of emmc and broke it. Someone who contacted the Chinese support got his/her phone swapped or money back.
I still have the phone in same condition hoping to manage one day to replace the emmc chip. I think that will fix the issue.

"Bad news - Redmi 2 the series 2014813 has faulty NAND memory. After 1 to 1.5 year of operation the memory dies. First warning is "App stopped working" message. Then the phone dies and after rebooting you see just the Mi logo.
Flashing new ROM usualy fixes this problem and phone works for 1-2 months without problems. Then the fault apears again and it is end for the phone. You can enter fastboot mode, TWRP, but there is no was how to write any data to internal memory. Fastboot, TWRP nor MiFlash do not work because this is a hardware problem. [GUIDE] Unbrick Tool for OnePlus 5 with OOS 9.0.9 & OOS 9.0.11 (Untouched full stock)

=>A hard bricked OP5 has nothing but a black screen (nothing ever comes on the screen, not even a boot logo), it might vibrate when a power button is pressed and held for 20 seconds, has no Recovery partition, no adb mode, and no fastboot partition (It might be a flickering OnePlus logo). The device might be detected in Linux and you might be able to even send commands to it. In Windows, the bricked OP5 should be detected as QHUSB_BULK,Unknown Device,Qualcomm something. You might have a bricked OP5 as a result of flashing a kernel meant for a different device (or a ROM meant for another device that included a kernel), tinkering with the boot logo or bootloader, or your attempt of unlocking the bootloader resulted in corrupting the boot partition. Most of the times, it is needed because OEM Unlocking is disabled, and phone can't boot and no recovery.
=>The solution for OP5 hardbrick is similar to OP3,OP3T- you just need a Qualcomm driver and a recovery package.it'll help to get out from one of the most weird state of the phone.(file is exact file from OnePlus)
METHOD​
This method is easy to use and flashes OxygenOS 5.1.7 and OxygenOS 9.0.9 on your phone. It wipes all your data and restores all partitions to stock. It will work in any condition unless it is a hardware damage.
Step 1 :- DOWNLOADS :-

Step 2 :- Extract Drivers and Recovery Tool files on Desktop.
Step 3 :- If you are using Windows other than Windows XP,turn off Driver Signature Enforcement.To do so,follow this guide :- http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-...igned-drivers/
Step 4 :- Press the power button for 40 seconds to turn off the phone.
Step 5 :- Press only volume up button for 10 seconds and while keeping it pressed,connect your phone to PC.Keep volume up pressed till your device shows in device manager as [Unknown Device,QHUSB_BULK (under Unknown Devices) or Qualcomm HS USB ...... (under COMs and Ports)].
Step 6 :- Right Click on your device in the device manager and select Update Device Software. Choose the .inf file manually from x86 or x64 folder as the case implies and select Qualcomm 9008 from the listed devices.If you are unable to see 9008,see the end of post for various other methods to show Qualcomm 9008.
Step 7 :- When the device shows as Qualcomm 9008 ,go to the extracted Recovery Package and run the MSM Download Tool as administrator.
Step 8 :- Click start at top left corner and wait for it to finish (green text will come).
Step 9 :- Disconnect phone from PC and boot into system.
How to Make the device show as Qualcomm 9008​
1.) Make sure driver signature enforcement is disabled.
2.) Try these drivers,one of them might work too :-

Keep phone disconnected from PC.
Open the folder "qc" and install the Test Certificate in the following Stores: Trusted Root, Trusted Publisher, Third-Party Root and Personal
Run the Qualcomm setup wizard (also located in the qc folder)
When completed, restart your PC again with Driver Signature Disabled. (Optional but preferred)
The driver should now automatically install. If not, go to device manager and right click "Unknown Device" and click "Update Driver" Search up the QC folder and press ok. The driver should now install.
P.S.: I found the fix for bootloader menu which was changing after flashing through this tool. Just flash the zip in the recovery from the link below after flashing the rom through this tool, and you are good to go.
Please boot your device, set it up then go back to recovery and flash this file.

NOTE: When the tool gives the "Sahara error", DON'T DISCONNECT THE PHONE from your PC, and press vol up and power button. It maybe seem stupid as a fix but generally it works.

Yes it is normal, mine also changed. May be they changed something in latest tool

Hi! First of all, thx for this post. I am getting Error 258 when i execute the tool. I am getting " Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" in device manager, is that right? When i'm executing the program, he begins to download cache.img, and then stop and shows me this error :T Gonna send some pics to better ilustrate it.

hv u tried running this tool as administrator abd ur fone shud not turn on any of the led while flashing.. if u r on twrp try format data .. and then try flashing it thru tool.. or may be its bad download at ur side. redownload again.. and try

Don't worry about green led light while flashing with tool its normal behavior, and about error...maybe because of bad download for sure,try attaching your phone again or check the drivers again...and look at the firs comment - seems like tool is working fine.

Yes, i ran it as administrator. M phone was totally bricked, i only got signal in him when i connected at the PC. But i always had this error :T I downloaded it at least 5 times, and got always the same results.

I did it all, believe me. Reinstalled the drivers multiples times, differents PCS, differents USB ports... I think it was a hardware problem.
I already sent my phone to RMA, so i think it was solved, one way or another But thanks for your replies

I have all the files needed to setup sp flash and try to put again the Rom in the phone, which is now not unlocked and no usb debugging on.
Can someone please give me a tutorial on how to use those files? My phone still not recognised in sp flash com port, I don't know how to do.

If you need to disable authorisation, did you run the MTK Auth Bypass tool and get the message "Protection disabled"? That's what I had to do before SP Flash Tool would flash the phone (without disconnecting it or rebooting), and I also had to set the baud rate to 921600, although that was all under Linux, and the phone was still unlocked.

it's complicated. with phone locked fastboot commands don't work. with my hold mi a3 fastboot flashing unlock command work. but with miui and mtk chipset probably it's useless. but u can try. if u boot into bootloader with mediatek driver the pc should recognize your phone also if it's blocked

2: select the unlock bootloader and start, then connect you phone via usb with all three buttons pressed. (Phone must be off before connect, )

Thanks for the help, the problem I'm facing it's Auth tool cont recognise the phone, when I open the shell keep saying waiting for the device.
Driver are mtk with Libus installed, dunno.
When I restart the phone immediately have the logo then, if volume up I can log mi assistant or with volume down the bootloader screen.

1. Check your device driver for USB, suggest you re-install the MTK usb driver.
2. First run the program, select the Auth by pass then press start.
3. Make sure phone is in "power off" state, press Vol+, Vol- and power (all three at the same time), and don't release it, plug in USB cable and wait.... Don't release these three buttons until it is Auth by pass OK.
During this process, take a look at device manager, there must be one item like portable device - USB ( Com 3). keep flashing.

you "must" remove (uninstall) the driver first then re-install the MTK usb driver again.

I did that many times, with win 10 no drivers signed mode, with many different mtk drivers but nothing was working. I'll try clean my windows and then start again with the drivers.

is a win10 problem that i also haved. hard to solve. u can try windows 7 via virtualbox (solved a lot of my problems in the past) or format and install a modded version of win10 (but i dont suggest this)

Virtual box looks no longer available, I'll install a fresh copy of win 7 in another partition, never give up lol

virtualbox is available for all system. i have a win7 virtualized under my linux pc, and miflash works fine. no bugs. if my tips makes you happy dont try. is not my problem, i didnt bricked my phone. i dont make things without know what i'm doing. good look. u can buy a new phone if u prefere

? I've just told you I've tried to download virtual box for win 10 but it's not avaible now or server was temporarily down for the download, so my only way it's to set up a fresh copy on win 7 on my pc, I can't understand your hanger answer.

try wipe data. also u can control the active slot. try change it and reboot

Hi, finally I can install the Recovery V12.5.16.0.RKPCNXM rom and the engineering rom but have no baseband and no IMEI. Tried many times to put my IMEI codes with no luck, looks I need the mt6893 modem file to use sn writer but no way to find them on net, can someone share those files please? Thanks
