Can our phones run CM12 - Sprint HTC One (M8)

I noticed there's no cm rom in the development section. I wanted to know if we can flash there general Cm12 rom from there website cause I can't find any sprint version anywhere.

Yes we can run CM12.

@shawn1482
Keep in mind that our lockscreen will say NO SIM CARD--SPRINT, and the built in messaging app will not work.
Not sure what it is, and someone made a fix for the no sim thing on my old device. but for the texting you will need to use a third party app.

Yea I tried that ROM it was great I loved it but since I have a Harmon Kardon edition m8 when I played music with the screen off the music would slow down so I got off of that ROM. I read through pages looking for a solution but nothing worked so went back to sense.

You will have similar problems with CM roms. Look for the HK asdp files, you might be able to flash them on top of any rom. I haven't tried, but last night when I used CM12 the music sounded like garbage anyway. I have since stuck to HK roms, but they are all Sense. If you find anything, post back.

first thing I notice is that it says must be s-off or you will brick. Also, if it requires s-off, it might be altering firmware to match HK, but you already have that being an HK device unless you did the conversion to a regular M8 or GPE. Just take a few and read that thread. (it is for verizon so read carefully)

I found the adsp files for HK but the thread says not flashable for aosp roms

I thought that might be the case, those files modify the firmware, so I can see why they wouldn't matter on AOSP unless the rom specifically has a use for them. I am sure you can run the regular or the dev edition ruu and install an aosp rom without sound issues. But you would need to be s-off.

[Q] Registering custom flashed Hero on Sprint Network

I recently upgraded my phone and gave my trusty Hero to an out of town girlfriend. She went to sprint today to have it activated and was unable to get it done. She tells me they attempted to register it on the network but were unable to do so. They say this is because it is rooted and flashed with a custom Rom.
It has the July 08 ASOP rom by jaybob. If anyone can give me any help, I'd be greatly appreciated. I'm wondering if I need to talk her through the process of returning to stock.
Thanks in advance
You need a sense based rom I'm pretty sure.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA Premium App
If you want her to have a completely stock, unrooted phone, you need to "ruu" it. You will find the ruu file and instructions in the development section.
Other than that, you can flash any sense-based rom (infinite fx's, liquid's), and that will let you activate it also.
If she will be taking it into the sprint store, I recommend ruu, tho.

I may be Wrong but you should be able to Activate it over the phone... I think Sprints number is 1-800-639-6111! Also if I were you I'd probably do what the others Advised and Flash a Sense based Rom, Try LiquidSense, or the Fresh Roms are Also pretty Good!

Camera not working HTC One

i recently flashed Faux123's M7 (UV/Intelliplug/dfsync/FauxSound/s2w/Hybrid Linux 3.4+) [May-25] Kernel using TWRP. Now after checking everything else out, everything is in full working order except the Camera's. This is extremely upsetting because although I've been in the android modding scene for nearly a year now, ive never encountered this problem, nor do i know what to do. If anyone can offer help or links to help, I'd appreciate it very much. Thank You in advance.
There's a camera fix that's needed for roms running the 1.29 and higher firmware. It should be in the aroma installer if not, then somewhere in the thread

My software # is 1.26.502.12 will it work for that? And where can i find the installer?
Oh yes
i should also mention im running stock Sense 5 w/ 4.1.2 and tried flashing both listed camera fixes in the Fauxkernel thread to no avail. This is the biggest pain ever, and i am finding many other people are having this problem too.

Are you trying to run a custom kernel on a stock ROM? If so, there's might be your problem. Further, stop doing that--it's a very bad idea.

Yeah I am. Any stable custom ROMs you suggest for me to try? And supposedly it was only changing the Liboemcamera.so file or something like that. It doesn't matter though. I figured out that restoring it to a backup I made before I flashed the kernel fixed it. But now I have the problem I did before, with not being able to OC or especially UV and Fast Charge. As you know, this phones battery dies fast, and in the short time I was using Faux's kernel with UV/FC its battery life already had drastic improvements. So, can you help me get something stable like that?

Honestly, I'm surprised your phone booted without an issue. I've seen other folks who've flashed custom kernels on stock ROMs and be stuck in bootloops from hell.
TrickDroid and ARHD are both fantastic and I've frequently used both. They're also both running on Android 4.2.2, so they're the absolute latest you can get. ARHD focuses on refining and bettering the stock experience as much as possible without much changes. TrickDroid also has a stock look, but it lets you customize things a little more like the battery icon, clock location, etc. It's more your typical custom ROM, but it's not typical in it's awesomeness.
Thank god I'm so lucky. I never saw these problems in the forums for the kernels... No warnings, no instructions. I just followed the ones I remembered from my flashing days with the GS3.
I can find both of those on the forums, correct? And which do you prefer as a daily driver? Which one can I keep until stable CM10.1 comes out? Or maybe might want to keep even past that?

I bounce between these forums and the AT&T One forums trying to help folks out so I'm not sure where I first started seeing the stock ROM/custom kernel issues. Also I may spend too much time on these forums... >_>
Regardless, I'm a flashaholic. I swapped between ARHD and TrickDroid quite regularly. ARHD seems to be updated a lot quicker, probably due to the fact that it's tweaked less than TrickDroid. The fact that Mike has been around forever too probably helps. I don't know Torxx's work quite as well. That being said, I prefer TrickDroid over ARHD because of a couple tweaks that I like such as SMS screen on, center clock, and replacing the battery icon with a numbered percentage. Not sure if those tweaks are in yet, though, since the change to 4.2.2
Just a head's up on the AOSP front, there's been alot of reports that AOSP-based ROMs are having issues with the camera. Not that it isn't working mind you but that it's taking absolutely absymal shots. This is likely because HTC baked in some software magic to improve the the image quality and those features are missing from AOSP. I wouldn't use an AOSP ROM as my daily driver until the HTC One Google Edition has been released and hopefully it will have that software magic. Figured you'd like to know since the title of this thread is regarding the camera. :
Alrite well, cool. I think I'll check out ARHD tomorrow when I get home from finals. And thanks for the foresight on the AOSP, I doubt that I would've thought of that before hand. I need a cam fix for this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40819216&postcount=2
My details:
Android-Version: 4.1.2
HTC Sense: 5.0
Software: 1.29.401.16
Kernel: 3.4.10
Camera not working
Same here, bit new to this whole ROM thing, but basically I need full OTG support on my HTC One - So I can use DroidPlanner and my USB stick that talks to my Quadcopter - if I plug it in with the stock HTC, it pops up with "unsupported device. Now using the 4.0 rom you linked too and the OTG works fine, but now the camera just shows as a black screen... My HTC One (International) has software version 1.29.980.17 . not sure if that's the problem?
any help appreciated

From what i understand, OTG is based on kernel, not ROM. And this is definitely not the thread to post this on. Use Tbaldens kernel for sense or GE, and thatll be your best bet.

Yes, youre in the right section, but your question has nothing to do with a camera problem. Which zip file to download? Europe.

Hi guys,
I have an HTC One which I had flashed with Cyanogenmod 10.2 and I now want to go back to Sense. I Would like to install Android 4.4 Sense 5.5 (I think!) Or whatever the latest is that is stock.
I have flashed a phone only once before, 6 months ago so have some understanding of what I am doing, but not a great deal.
How do I know which zip file to download please and how can I find it? I am in Europe (England) and my phone provider is Three.
I tried to install this and it failed so I restored my backup. "bigxie_m7_GPe_KRT16S_odexed-signed.zip"
I have TWRP 2.7.0.1
Thank you for any help,

Sorry, just noticed that my first post was not clear;
I tried to install this; "bigxie_m7_GPe_KRT16S_odexed-signed.zip" but it did not work. (I had been following a YouTube vid) so I retored my backup that I had made.
When you say "from the factory" . . . I don't want the phone provider (Three's) software bits in there. I would rather just the Google Sense stuff.
So I think I want Android 4.4 (KitKat) Sense 5.5 . . I think!
I have just restored my phone to its Factory Original software that I backed up when I first flashed the Cyanogenmod 10.2 in there. So I am part way there but really I would like the above/latest 4.4 software.
Thanks, hope I'm not talking too much rubbish as this is all new to me.
Thanks

All android manufactures (well, almost) create their own skin on top of Android. It's still Android, but heavily customized.
EDIT: So here is what I meant.
For Stock Google Play Edition (no HTC sense, 4.4.2): http://www.androidrevolution.org/downloader/download.php?file=Android_Revolution_HD-One_6.1_GE.zip
For Stock HTC Sense (sense 6, 4.4.2) http://www.androidrevolution.org/downloader/download.php?file=Android_Revolution_HD-One_63.0.zip (this is still uploading so you can't download it yet, but I'm assuming you will be able to pretty soon)

Interest check on a stock GPE build for the Sprint S4

The title says it all. Is anybody interested in a Stock GPE Build for the Sprint S4? The purpose of this build would be a Stock GPE ROM with changes only needed to make it function correctly.
Basically, Keeping it as close as possible to stock GPE for the device with the exception of root/supersu and busybox.
The reason for this would be so dirty flashes work better and be somewhat supported and tested.
Danvdh's GPE build is awesome with many features however there is people like me that need a somewhat stable phone and don't feel like re-building and wiping the phone every time for a new flash.
Let me know what you think.
I think it would definitely be a good idea. Everyone has different needs and as you can see from reading the threads, it seems each phone acts differently on each of these Roms. Thank you for taking time to work on it if you do. If you need someone to test to see if your work causes a phone to glow in the dark, let me know!

No, it doesn't. That rom has been modded to hell and back and has nore issues with each release (which usually requires a complete wipe to even function). The OP of this thread is asking if we are interested in a more closely stock, more stable GPE rom without the mods and CM junk.
Would be nice if there was a actual source of the GPE I have a pure stock aosp build for jflte but its kk no mods no CM crap

Ok, so the international model. So if you want stock Android 6.x, my personal recommendations are Android Ice Cold Project (AICP), it's very feature rich while being as close to stock as possible and it has nightly updates. It also has really great performance and battery life, I haven't had any lag and get at least a day out of my battery. There's also Cyanogenmod 13 although it hasn't been updated for a month or so to my knowledge. And lastly another good one is crDroid. I personally recommend AICP because of the almost daily updates, and features, I have it installed on both my M7 and Nexus 4. I haven't had any issues and if there is an issue it's normally fixed the following update.

Android Lollipop with the Google Play Editions are pretty much what you'd get on the stock Nexus experience. A lot of Google apps, and pure stock Lollipop without any modifications. Some do have some modifications to them, and some don't.

Cyanogenmod 12.1 is really the only Lollipop ROM that I have used other than the Sense 7 roms, they have almost nightly updates for their Lollipop builds. Google Play Edition+ is another great one for 5.x, you can pick between stock Play Edition and the developer's custom build packed with features.

If your primary rom is Sense-based then simply download this kernel, ElementalX, and flash it to your main rom. It has some pretty good features too that you can pick from during the installation. There also is a GPE build for Play Edition roms as well. Reboot into the rom just to make sure everything flashed smoothly, and then reboot and you can then boot into your different roms in multi boot. Just make sure that if you change your main rom in Multiboot that it has to have this kernel, I haven't found any other one that supports it. There also aren't any Marshmallow kernels just yet either, sadly.

Hmm. I'm currently busy until around 10-11pm EST, whenever I get done and back home I will take a look around to see if there might be anything. If it's Marshmallow based though there isn't any custom kernels yet. Wouldn't hurt to make like a GPE or Sense rom your primary one and simply leave it there, I do that. I use MIUI 7 as my daily driver but I have InsertCoin Sense 7 installed for my main rom so I can have 2-3 other roms installed. Just some advice if that helps

I think, what would work best for you since you prefer stock-based roms, is download the Google Play Edition+ I linked earlier in the thread, install it as a secondary rom and also flash the ElementalX kernel under Flash Zip. Afterwards go under Advanced, Multirom, Swap Rom, and leave it as Swap primary and pick the GPE+ and let it run it's course. Might take 5-10 minutes so I'd leave it plugged in and charging if you are below 50-60% battery. Then just boot into GPE+, do a quick setup and leave it as a basic installation. That way you can keep your Carbon Rom installation with all of the data and apps, and just pick that every time you boot your phone. Plus it's easier than messing around with different kernels on Carbon trying to find one to make it work and you have a fallback stock rom in case an update or something messes up Carbon. That's exactly what I did with MIUI and InsertCoin.

Yeah, that happens sometimes with mine. Not all the time though, mainly when I'm streaming music in Spotify or Pandora, or if I've been on it for 10-15 minutes on Twitter, email, etc. Sometimes when installing a rom and first booting it, it gets upwards of 50C but cools down after I let it sit for a little while. Also, just throwing it out there because I love the app, if you have $7 you're willing to spend MyBackup Pro is fantastic for backing up everything if you change the rom you use the most. Like data, apps with the app data (not every app backs up the data though) and just like everything else. There's also a free one if you don't care about app data which I'd actually recommend trying that out first. Spares a hell of a lot of time for downloading apps every time. I promise I am no way affiliated with them, like I really feel bad "advertising" them even though I'm not. It's just my favorite backup app xD. Titanium backup is another good one but I haven't used it's backup stuff. Mods you can feel free to edit this if you don't see it fit.
