I bought a mi band made by xiaomi. And I tried unlocking with Bluetooth. The problem is phone is unlocking whenever the band is within the range. But with Mi3(Mi phone)it s unlocked only when the band was moved near the phone. Is that normal with sony(unlocking within 10 meters)??
Now it s ok.u can set up the range(distance)manually

Is the QCN = radio rom? As i understand it, it's more of a partition backup.

I would say no, as this phone definitively has got an encrypted phone NV registry just like the OP2 which effectively makes it as good as impossible to tamper with the locked NV registers.
Try this , Flash any of the mm roms like oos 3.5.1 or 3.5.4 . get into the service menu by dialing *#*#4636#*#* . touch phone info and then the three dots on the top right , next touch select radio band , after that you will get a list which says US band , band 31 , band 32 etc. touch band 43 and wait for at least 2 minutes . I had inadvertently switched to US bands by touching the US band option and lost all 2g and 3g connectivity and got them back using the above method.

Not trying to get 2G or 3G back. Want to get LTE band 3
Dear all,
is there any news on this? I bought a 3T in China as I'm currently living here but will return to Germany sooner or later and would like to use the whole band available there. It seems some more channels are used in Germany.
Thanks and best regards,
Matthias
Hi, is it possible for me to change (and stay that way) the LTE bands on my phone without root? My network seems very slow on band 5 LTE and I'm looking to change it to band 38 or 40 instead. Thanks
Base on my experience, it's impossible not to root your phone and change system files.
I already have both bands on, it's just the matter of preferring one band over the other. I tried manually to search networks in the advance tab and managed to connect manually for a minute to band 40 network before it automatically changes back to band 5 ( even i selected thr the network manually)
Hello all,
I recently changed my phone carrier, and I noticed phone doesn't go in LTE+ mode anymore. Apparently, the phone is able to aggregate band 3 and 1, which was the combination my previous carrier was using, but not 3 and 7.
I read a bit around, and found out some useful discussion here:
http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=392070&pid=10016974
which gave me the opportunity to understand how to set the carrier aggregation on different bands, and avoid to add any combination on band 7 which apparently isn't managed properly.
So, I used QXDM to change the nvram values on band 3 CA (default is 5, which is band 3+1 aggregation), and my phone was able to aggregate 3+7 bands, but that leads to a loop between LTE+ and LTE, which ends with phone in H.
After reverting the changes, phone goes normally in LTE.
Is there any way to enable Carrier aggregation on Mi 5, on combinations not originally present in the firmware? Or does Mi 5 lack the hardware to do so?

I dont really have the technical knowledge, but if you look at some of band 1 configs, there's a few values that are set for carrier aggregation that are not set for other bands. I think we need to configure a few more things than just enabling the CA values. Been trying to figure this out for some time. Too bad i don't have any other phone with proper ca support to compare
does the *#*#717717#*#* only works in MIUI ? currently using OMNI rom

There are some, only usable one in Italy is on band 3, it aggregates 3 and 1, but is really rare operators use this config.
You can enable the engineering mode with adb
So I Tried To Disable Band 40 And Only Enabling Band 3 or 5 But It Didn't work Band 40 Keeps Re-enabling itself,it affects me cause in my area Band 40 is slow Band 3 is Faster Band 5 is the Fastest(Tested with my POCO F1). I also Rooted the Phone and then tried using some apps like network signal guru etc. but they dont work cause they only Support Qualcomm. Is There Anyone who can help me with this?
I am using M2003J15SI Model,Using Jio,MIUI 12
Thank You.

I am also having the same situation with my Redmi Note 9 (Global Version). It keeps rechecking the band 40. However, I think that it just keeps rechecking by display only, when in fact it is really turned off. For example, I am currently in band 40, then I unchecked band 40, leaving only band 3 checked. When I check the band selection again, band 40 was checked. But when I check the band in the "Network Monitor Lite" app, it is connected to band 3. So I think, it only displays (checks) the band 40 when in fact it is really turned off. Thanks
Hi all,
I've just purchased a Verizon G998U with cracked front screen and back and found that the phone is google locked - FRP Locked. According to the seller, it was Verizon unlocked prior to the sale. Tested the phone with my local Malaysian SIM Card and I was getting signal from it prior to getting the screen replaced and FRP unlocked.
I have managed to get the FRP Lock removed and a factory reset later allows me to setup the phone properly with my own Google Account but when i'm putting in my Malaysian Sim Card, it says that this is not a Verizon sim card.
Any ideas on why this is happening? Will an sim unlocked phone be reverted back to a locked phone after FRP lock is removed?
Thanks in advance
Ask the seller for the unlock code used before
Noted miravision, what do i do with the unlock code then? Putting in my Malaysian sim card and rebooting the phone does not ask for any unlock code.
Depending on whether the seller used an official unlock authorized by Verizon or used unofficial means, your seller should help you further in good faith
Noted with thanks, miravision. I will check with the seller and will update once i get a feedback from them
Update on the testing done to the phone. Didn't managed to get anything from the seller. But did some interesting testing with the phone. I've got 2 sim cards with two different provider in Malaysia - Celcom and Yes.
Flashed the phone with the U1 XAA software and managed to setup the phone with Yes sim card with VoLTE running and Internet working. As for Celcom SIM card, no signal at all and tried playing around with Samsung Band Selection App, managed to get the sim to connect intermittently with VoLTE and Internet working. Removal of sim and reboot of the phone will sometime changes the Celcom SIM to no signal at all and manual searching of the Celcom network also doesn't show the selectable network and only shows Yes 4G network.
So from the testing above, can i presume that the phone is sim unlocked? If it's unlocked, why can't the other sim from Celcom can't be detected consistently?
Anyway, the telco info is as below
YES - LTE Band 20 (800 Mhz), Band 38 (2600 Mhz), Band 40 (2300 Mhz),
VoLTE Support
Celcom - LTE Band 1 (2100 Mhz), Band 3 (1800 Mhz) , Band 7 (2700 Mhz) - VoLTE Support.
Hopefully can get some insights on what is actually going on.
Thanks in advance
