Does any body have any tips to improve battery? Maybe some apps to freeze in Titanium, im also familiar with greenify. Just dont want to disable to many settings like sync etc since it kinda defeats the purpose of have the phone. I ended up disabling google now. Feels like it was draining my batt.
There's some great tips in Mega's op.

Reason I ask is I seen some people say they'll have 200 free memory after running atk...me all I have is about 135/145...
Maps also just reappears on its own along with stock messaging...I use handcent.....

Well after almost a complete day with it installed hasn't helped battery at all...may have even made it worst...
Now more appso auto starts...like maps even though I have yet to open it....
Also when I kill I get only 75/85 free mem.....
Some one has to know something...
Seems that atk may not help me...

You don't need a task killer on these phones. The more you try to mess with how it works, the less battery life you will get. I get 2 days on a single charge, with daily usage.
I agree with miztaken1312. The system manages running apps pretty good on its own. I do have ATK installed but I only use it for a game or app that freezes and I can't "force stop" it from the built in running application list. To keep ATK from running in the background and wasting battery I keep it on the kill list so when I kill apps it kills itself until I open it again.
after reading in one thread about atk somewhere in xda, I agree with the author and immediately remove from gt my P1000. then after a few days without atk there are some things I want to ask:
1.
the killer task default samsung just ending not more than 4-5 applications where my habit to always use the back button from one application to another. this is much different where atk while still using 17-20s can reach the applications in turn. what makes the difference between this 2application?
2.
Since i'm back to defat task killer, i always been 80-90% of ram usage and everytime i killed it always been around 350 ram, way different with atk which might reached 175 of usage ram. What is all about?
I'm running with default GtP1000 firmware no rooting. Appreciate those whom willing to brighten me up about this free ram

You probably want to go through and freeze any garbage/bloat apps that you don't need or use. Personally i use Titanium backup to freeze things, but there are a handful of free apps in the market that will do something similar.
As far as ATK, I generally don't use task killers, and rarely have any issues with my devices.

freezing apps isn't uninstalling them (though there are plenty that come with stock firmware from any carrier that can and should be uninstalled) when you freeze them, you basically prevent them from running in any way on your Tab. You can defrost them to run if you find you need something you've frozen. Bloat Freezer on the market is a good cheap app that works very well.

Still curious what is the main different the way atk and default in killing task?
send from my premium XDA GT-P1000 2.3.3|DXJPE
the default task manager, only kills apps you manually started that are currently active. atk will kill the inactive apps, as well as some background tasks.
Once you get all the bloat frozen, you should see a better battery life, and better performance..

Anyone know what this is about? Is it basically the same as Carrier IQ? Do I need it or should I just uninstall it?
It's one of Samsung Apps updates, although you can still use them without it. I removed it since i don't like apps with the word "push" in them and my battery life got a lot better ( i removed a lot of other **** too so I can't be certain that was the issue ) Got approx 1%/h now in standby, in case we have different views on what good batt life is
How do you remove this?

Go to Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, it should appear in the downloaded list. Tap it and select "Uninstall".
It was also draining my battery as a wakelock, as detected by Better Battery Stats. Uninstalled with no issues.
At first I was paranoid it was going to affect push capabilities on my e-mail, but apparently it's just to push updates or announcements on Samsung apps.
Hope this helps.
You could also freeze it with titanium backup if you don't like the idea of uninstalling it

I freeze all the unnecessary samsung services and apps. push was the biggest wake drain
Hey guys, so What exactly is this? I keep getting a notification to install this but when I click it takes me to samsung apps to download and says this product does not exist. Any thoughts?
This app is not mine and I am not affiliated with the developer in any way. Greenify is the main thing I've used to save battery life. It does require root to do so. Apps like YouTube, maps, facebook, etc, periodically wake your phone from sleep to "sync." What Greenify does is allow you to pick and choose user installed apps (so yes, delete or move maps / Facebook from system) to be forced into hibernation upon screen off. Facebook in itself is a battery hog so I'd suggest Fast Facebook to clear that up.
In my screenshot, I'm rocking 70% battery life with moderate usage because of Greenify.

Will give it a shot right now.... many thanks!
Thought it was working but my constant use of Twitter on LTE always prevails at draining battery.

Can we get a list going of recommended apps to use with this?

I use all but the ones I want to be able to sync ie Facebook, nova launcher, power toggles and yab.

Remove Google maps and then installed from market to make it a user app. And then hibernated it. That saved a crap ton of battery for me right there. Also hibernated anything else that said it might be running and using battery.
Hey everyone
I've LG optimus 2x and I'm really tired and frustrated of Facebook and messenger app running in background.
1) it uses a lot of ram in my memory and phone is really slow.
2) It dries a lot of battery. Horrible. Yesterday I've uninstalled facebook app from my phone and I could finally use my phone without any single lag. First time in a few months that I use this phone, after that. Usually battery goes on 99% in about standby, now my phone is already 4h on standby and it's still on 100%. Finally phone works as it should be
So, question is, is there any good app or way to stop running these apps in background? I've already tried service disable but when I disabled some services app crashes and it was useless. So cross app disable and autokill apps.
If your rooted you should try greenify or install a custom rom like tonyp's PA Rom.

force close
go to setting ,apps and force close it
I've already custom rom and still the same.
