I'm using note4 with lolipop (5.0.1) which have exynos processor
I've lots of movies which have AC3 audio codecs.
As you guys know, note4 doesn't have AC3 codec.
I found this thread

I tried but noting changed!
I want to know the reason. exynos problem? or Lolipop problem?
or just I made mistake?
thanks!

It's a problem with lollipop, but just reencode the audio to aac and you'll be fine. :good:

Not sure if there are any audio encoders available on android, but on my PC I use MediaCoder and just copy the video (takes about a minute or so). On my mac i use MP4 Converter.

I converted 3D movie (MKV file) with un-supported audio file to MP4 and all works great. The only issue is that size file has double increased from 5,5 GB to 11 GB. Is that something normal?

That is definitely not normal, and I guess you somehow managed to reencode the video as well.
Make sure you have the settings set as below(in MediaCoder):

Hi,
try this:
open VLC
select media
select convert
add the file to convert
select profile and in options check keep original video
select audio format an that's all.
Enjoy it.

Use Pavtube Video Converter Ultimate for transcoding ac3 to aac and keep the MP4 for Note 4, no video quality would be lost.

I have full ver of coreplayer and it plays avi movies fine for me. Watching one right now.
In the diamond Software section, there's a video encoder specifically made for the device.
I know that video recoding is not always the nicest/fastest way to get stuff on the device, but it does a greate job.
In that thread it's mention that CorePlayer doesn't support hardware acceleration...

Not really an answer but something worth looking at anyway =)
Am running coreplayer right now and it supports hardware playback, Whats the deal, how large are these files (in MB and resolution), natively encoded XViD movies (or GB sizes) work fine on the Raph. If you are attempting to watch a full HD video expect issues but what do you expect otherwise?
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=divx+windows+mobile+cab&l=1
^ LMAO @ THAT LINK i will def be using that site quite a bit... but thanks ill definitely download this and see what's good.
@ labbbby... i mean ill check it out... but ya recoding the file seems like such a unnecessary step... especially since older phones specifically my out titan played divx files straight off my comp flawlessly.
we have g sensor programs, light sensor program, themes, ported programs... all kinds of extras... but a video player seems to be too much ... and its not like they phone lacks power... it seems more than capable to view high quality video.
and vanx for exapmle... i have a 480p rip of naruto about 200mb that will never work... are there any settings changed to get the playback smooth?

Yea there is a tmpg kicking around specifically for the T.P. i have a full season of Trailer Park Boys, in mpg and a full season of Family guy in avi.
I also regularly convert video over to 3gp when i need too.
Ive had -0 problems with the media player and actually am really impressed with how great it looks.
There is a video converter called "super" somewhere out there on the interwebs. One of the greatest free video programs ive used. Just select 3gp and it sets all the codecs up for you, or you can tweak and adjust to suit your needs.

I tried TCPMP but it just crashed. I don't want to pay for the program because I don't think that's worth it.
So I want to ask, what is the best sollution to play divx/xvid on my D2 without paying?

Try Coreplayer. Should play these files.
I noticed this the other day, but I haven't tried it myself http://www.freewareppc.com/multimedia/divxmobileplayer.shtml. I'm not sure it would play xvid though.
I had the same problem with TCPMP after many years of using it on other machines. I purchased Coreplayer and haven't looked back. And, I very rarely purchase apps!
Yeah, i am trying divx mobile player as we speak, but Core player isn't a option because i just don't want to pay. (think it is way to expensive )
Or someone could help me with coreplayer without paying
Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming
Ok so i got it installed, it works with a few flaws like taskbar items showing up and such.
BUT 1 file did play good for a few minutes then the audio got out of sync. So i tried another but that just lasted 10 seconds before it began stuttering + out of sync audio.
So i still need a decent player
Well, i have Coreplayer now, decided to buy it.
Thanks for the help

I know how you feel about paying. It is quite expensive. Coreplayer is just about the only program I'd pay money for because it's so functional. And I figured all that free use of TCPMP over the years is a bonus..

Good decision!!!
Coreplayer
Coreplayer is the best and it's worth paying for it
Hope someone can offer me some advice. Video playback is very high on my priorities. I currently have an Omnia which is pretty flawless playing back DIVX or XVID encoded files. I am not interested in playing back High Def content, only xvid/divx avi files that I download such as TV and DVD Rips.
How good is the Diamond 2 with Coreplayer, I am pretty worried from all that I read about HTC/Qualcomm drivers not working properly and this is a deal breaker for me. I don't know if the Touch Pro 2 is the same, I know it has the same processor.
I have been out of contract for a couple of months and was waiting to get an Iphone but I will have to encode all my xvid files in order for them to play, at least until Coreplayer for Iphone is released. I was happy with my Omnia but I seem to have endless problems with getting programs working as they should and of course there is no official support on this site.
If video playback is ok for these type of files I may go for either the Diamond 2/Touch Pro 2 or Touch HD as they all seem to be a similiar spec.
I have an HD7S and I feel I'm wasting the beautiful screen by not watching any movies on it.

Zune converts the movies just fine, but it takes FOREVER.

I've never tried Bluray and don't think recode supports. Anydvd running in the background tells recode to ignore the protection and allows recode to convert it.
You don't need the quality of Bluray, you get exceptional quality from a 1gb conversion from DVD and if I play the same converted file on my HD7 and girlfriends 4S I think the HD7 picture is much better (and bigger)!

I'm recoverting Transformers 3 but at a different resolution. The default resolution ( for me anyways) was 720x356 i believe. I'm going to try that and see if it fits better on the screen. I know the HD7S' resolution is 800x480 so its closer.

Forgive me for offtop, but, if we will have codecs the video in youtube will works and we will have the working camcorder? And what about zoom?
ohh...wtf!
WE DO NOT HAVE OPTICAL ZOOM!!!!
we just have digital, and the "zoom" effect is only made by reducing px/quality.
(btw: why no ics? cuz 4.2 is already around the corner maybe?)

I think ICS/JB have same codec architecture
Instead of porting the codecs from msm7x30 we could try to replace them with a ffmpeg based codec. I'm not much of a programmer, but take a look at these:

What about MX Player? Videos work just fine with it using software decoder on ICS/JB. You can even even watch YouTube videos.
http://limoa.sourceforge.net/node
im no android dev, but decoding and encoding arent the same thing.
(bad) example: to build a house need months. afterwards looking how it looks need some minutes.
you have to compress the raw data from "cam" into a (more or less) little file.
currently im compressing 72,5GB of raw video data. using x264 and a phenom 2 x3 i need around 45min. BUT: the vid is opend in seconds and lasts around 15 min.
i hope i could explain it.
Guys, relax software cant replace hardware decoding, understand that we want hardware decoding to work, if it works cam too will work, ics and jb have same, if we get it done on ics, it will work on jb too.
A little more info on hardware decoding, but this is just for knowledge ( but few technical aspects are there )
