Is there any roms that are ASOP, based on stock AT&T for 5.0? All I can, find are CM12 based based roms. If that's the case, what's the reason? I have stayed away from CM roms in the past due to their lack of full functionality.(Bluetooth, camera, visual voice mail issues) Any recommendations for as close to an AOSP as possible?
I believe this has to do with the boot loader being locked and therefore all roms must be based of stock

Locked bootloader prevents any flashing of AOSP Roms and custom kernels period

Hi Xda Forum
I was wondering will the google edition based roms ever have tweaks like cm10,aokp, etc with the stability of the stock google edition rom because in most aosp roms the front facing camera has a green tint and overall rom is not as stable also something like nfc don't work and the scrolling isnt as smooth
CM, AOKP and GE are all distinctly different ROMs and are unlikely to merge. So no, the GE editions ROMs will never be like CM or AOKP because then guess what... they'd be CM or AOKP!

I didn't ask if they would ever merge lol I asked if Google edition roms will ever get any kind of tweaks, aokp and cm were just examples of stock aosp roms with mods to the system.
Do you even bother to do 30 seconds research before asking stupid questions?
No need to be rude...but im aware of all of the GE ROMs out currently and none of them compare to the aosp roms out when it comes to customization that's what I'm looking for
I agree the AOSP based ROMs for HTC One (CyanogenMod, Paranoid Android, etc.) are still pretty buggy. I'm seeing battery drain, Google sync problems, camera tint, and font rendering issues.
I think it's still a bit early for AOSP-based ROMs (builds compiled from source) for the HTC One. It doesn't help that Google and/or HTC haven't released all the needed source and binary blobs. So for now we have buggy builds from source, or more solid builds from the GE dumps but with far less customization.
There is one GE ROM you might try that offers a few more tweaks via a secondary flashable zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39184446&postcount=3

In simple terms stock based roms will use the Sony skin and many of Sony's apps - typically the developer will have tweaked the build to improve performance or used the most recent version of Sony apps from higher end devices (the Z1 for example). They may also add some extra features - (using the volume buttons to skip music tracks/advanced reboot menu).
Custom Roms won't have any of the Sony features and generally will be closer to unskinned AOSP (Android Open Source Project) in appearance. They will mostly have some unquie features and be more options for customisation than a stock based ROM. Developers can also release higher versions of Android than Sony, allowing the user to experience Kit Kat long before Sony release a build. They tend to perform better than stock builds because they are less bloated. Sony has significant facebook integration within it's builds for example, similarly whilst it's possible to ignore it, there is a lot of secondary marketing within a Sony build trying to get you to use their music/video/games services. Most of these apps are heavy, slowing down the device. The SP copes fine, but their are definitely smoother custom roms out there.
Ok thanks !

AOSP based and cm based ROMs haven't been stable as of now,it doesn't mean it lessens affort of developers like akhil or varun but we need stock based ROMs in the meantime if you see nexus 5 forum there you have "catacalysm"
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/orig-development/rom-cataclysm-nexus-5-t2518660)which is most appropriated rom over there. It is essentially a stock rom modified with some gravitybox like features .It even supports RRO layERS. I am not a dev by any mean don't have computer to try out these things but we have well more than capable developers who could develop such ROMs quite easily. What do you think is it worth it?
I know that this is a ridiculous request since all of you are contributing here without any gains, and no body can demand something to be done for free!
But, I was wondering, with so much development going on over CM based ROMs for Moto X, why is there no ROM that is being developed by changing the stock rom?
I guess it is because the source for the stock ROM is unavailable, but wouldn't there be other ways to mod the ROM? I want to know this because I feel the performance of ROMs available here (on Moto X Development forum) is far better than the stock ROM. However, I love the active display and Moto Voice features of stock.
I tried using xposed and got most of the features (IME keys,RAM bar, lockscreen mods, clear all in recents, etc.) on stock 5.1, but my phone is too slow, compared to from when I was using Carbon/AICP/Resurrection ROMs (Thanks to those devs again).
Once the sources are available for 5.1 modding will happen.
5.1 was just released be patient but if you want a modded rom with stock features, try eclipse 4.4.4
I want to install aosp rom to my phone because of all of the stock passed issues. But I know that aosp roms have terrible camera framework, can I port the stock based one to aosp.
I see for some other Xperia phones they already did that.
