When used with Xposed, Greenify adds a whole load of extra features including allowing you to hibernate system apps and those that use Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) without missing out on push notifications.
Shoot. Mine is saying it's up to date no update here...

Hello all,
Just switched over from the HTC M8 and I was able to use app ops X to control app permissions. Unfortunately I can't remember the circumstances of installing that app and using it. I've researched it again and I've found that you need Xposed framework to use it now but I know for certain I didn't have Xposed installed on my M8 and still used App Ops X. Anyways, my question is if I'm missing something about installing this app, maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Some of the roms it was caked in because most roms started including xposed baked in.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a standalone Xposed framework? I am trying to keep stock ROM.

Not on lollipop. For now and maybe forever.
Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.findsdk.apppermission and use that app and you'll have app ops there. Can use it on stock, just need root.

of course, you'd have to trust this app more than the permissions in other apps you wanna disable...

All it does is a shortcut to go to App Ops thats already built into Android.
Honestly if you're going to have that mentality, then you should be worried about everything on XDA when it comes to kernels, roms, apps, themes, etc. It works.

you're right, folks should be careful what they choose to install, lot's of good stuff here but folks should make up their own mind

This didn't work for me on 5.0.1 stock rooted.

Try Adaway

adfree http://adfree.bigtincan.com/adfree.apk
There also is a ad blocker on this site that you flash in recovery that works well

Thanks all I tried both and find adaway to be a little better.
Will they get rid of YouTube ads??
I think you need xposed to get YouTube adaway. Although I haven't got ad yet in you tube but only been using for one day.

Get the Xposed framework first.
Then download the YouTube Adaway module.
You'll be free of ads. I've tried it.
But be sure to download the Xposed deactivation zip file too. Just in case something goes wrong...
For all kinds of ad blocking Adaway is the best.

Try using greenify and let us know if it works?
It does work
I'm looking to modify my status bar (positions of time, battery etc ) Without using xposed or using some dodgy app from the play store.
I have root but I can't use xposed because games are blocking it
Does anyone know any zips I can flash or an alternative to some xposed modules?
Thanks
