Reverting to full stock needs pc and odin. Maybe you can do this in an Internet Café?? Needs 40 mins at all.
No, can't use a cafe as its the battery connection on the phone that's screwy! I look into mobile Odin.. Thanks

Of course it is possible with SD card and completely without PC. If you have flashable zip file with Stock ROM with all images (recovery, etc.), you can do it as easilly as flashing custom ROM.
If you could point me in the direction of a flashable stock rom as I haven't seen any for the N version, or would a non N version work?

I haven´t seen any flashable stock ROM for N version, but if you download official version from sammobile, process of making flashable ROM (e.g. via Android Kitchen) must be same as for version without NFC.
Thanks I'll have a look

just wanted to know if there are any things i should watch out for when switching over to a Samsung rom from CM7?
currently i have a standard CM-style setup ie. CM7 nightly #104, CWM 3. Baseband version is JVK.
any particular rom you would like to recommend?
Just remember your Odining skills, backup your stuffs, wipe cache and data things and flash a stock rom with on 100% battery. After that flash whatever rom you like.
well i came from miui.... backed up some apps like whatsapp etc.. full odin jvs rom + repartition.. all is good.. doubt i'll go back to miui or cm7

As well as the actual Rom the Rom zip should contain a .pit file put this in the "pit" section of odin an tick reparation, add other files to their respective place and flash.
It might pay to take a look at some of the guides around so you know exactly what you are doing.

At the moment I'm on stock JVS with semaphore kernel and stock+ addon (in the theme section) for extended power menu and asop lockscreen. Seems stable and responsive, maybe not as quick or customizable as CM7 but for the moment it is doing me well.
Apologies for multiple replies.

Hi, I have been trying to root my P7310 tab using the instructions and root files I found in several threads. My problem is that when I boot in recovery mode I don't get in the list of options the one that says 'apply update from SD card', I only get the option of updating from external storage or cache.
Anyone could help me with this?
Thank you,
C

Use the guide from here by nirogu325 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406137
It has all that you need. And when in recovery, it's not necessarily 'apply update from SD card'. Just choose the zip file that you have to flash to gain root. I suggest that you use TWRP recovery on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2602188
Thanks for your help, I will try the instructions although they look a bit complicated for a near novice like me. My problem with the zip file is that when I am in recovery mode I cannot select any path leading to the SD Card root folder where the zip has been uploaded. It drives me nuts, it seems to work for everyone else but me!

The original gingerbread recovery had an option to flash zips. The ICS recovery did not. Rooting was way easier on GB because of this. The only way to root ICS is to install a custom recovery to flash a root.zip file.
Make sense, something to keep me busy next weekend...

Didn't know that. Never touched the original firmware that came with my tab. It was only when I upgraded to ICS via odin that I started tinkering with it.

Instructions from the guide are relatively easy to follow. Just read the whole lot. I think it would be better if you upgrade to ICS first if your still in Honeycomb.

You need to install a custom recovery with odin. Then you flash the zip file in the custom recovery.

Yes, the guide tells you that you need to flash custom recovery before you could flash any zip file.

Ok, I think I need some help. I cannot flash zip drives from the standard ICS recovery as I do not get the option of accessing the SD card (see photo attached) so I can't either root or flash CWMR zip. As suggested I have tried Odin but there are no instructions on how to flash a CWMR zip in the tread, only how to flash ROMs. I have tried to search with the PDA or BOOTLOADER buttons but I cannot load a zip file in Odin. I am really not sure what to do now?
can you help?
Thanks very much,
C

CyanogenMod instaled and unusable, I have installed GoogleApps separately but they do not show up anywhere. The browser does not work so I cannot try to access gooleplay. The PC does not recognise the tablet any more and I cannot transfer files. Well done me!
I suppose I could go back installing a stock ROM with Odiin, the problem is that the only post I have found with stock ROMs has links to Hotfiles.com which is no longer in service. Can anyone direct me to any other link where I could download a stock ROM for P7310?
Thank you.

Well yeah I didn't mention that you should do a full wipe first because I thought you already knew that
anyway, hopefully messing up with your tab won't be necessary, cuz stock ICS is the best, personally I use this tweaked one:
[ROM][ICS][STOCK][P7300/P7310][LQJ/LPV][Deodexed/Odexed] Final Build [14/1/14]
It is the best!!!:victory:
Cheers, what are the differences with the tweaked ROM you have?

Agree, I've tried the 10.1.3 and 10.2 CM versions before. But IMHO, overall performance is not on par with stock ICS.

It's a matter of preference, actually. In my case, I used the original firmware on the thread and tweaked it to my liking.
hello guys,
i've the xperia sp and i want to change rom to get this possibility to move app to sd, get kitkat without losing function like fm radio.
i've the last original firmware with root access by towelroo and blocked bootloader.
which steps do i have to do?and which rom do u suggest me??
thx a lot
use cm or paranoid or xperiaze
This should be in the Q and A board.
As far as I know, the stock based roms dont allow you to move apps to SD. You would need a custom ROM like CM11

CM11 is KitKat, if you need Jellybean on the phone to work with T-Mobile, there aren't many choices out there, you'd have to look through the older dev threads for 4.2.2 roms...
So in order to get a ROM it'll have to be a jellybean ROM? How would I put a recovery on the phone just through the autorec apk? And if I was to put a 4.2.2 ROM on the phone would it honestly work or bootloop me?

You have the right bootstack (sorry confused that with baseband) for a JB rom. You may want to look at this though..
People running KitKat with T-Mobile. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727307
You'll need to upgrade your bootstack to match the rom version, you can find basebands here in the bottom of the first post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715408
I appreciate that I think I may end up having to stay on the stock jellybean though lol sucks but that's just what I think it is it looks extra complicated all though I am sure it's simple but look super complicated ha. I have no idea what a bootstrack is even after reading that
