Hi,
I have recently bought a Z3 Compact.
I noticed that the wifi drops from time to time.
It still shows as connected but no data can be sent or received.
I have to disconnect and reconnect to the network so that I can continue to use.
My Samsung Note Edge had a similar problem and was solved through diabling Wifi Power Save.
Since Z3 don't dialer I could not enter Service Mode to disable that.
Is there any solve to this issue?
Thank you in advance.

If you use Stamina Mode, switch that off. You can go to settings>wifi>advanced settings and try and disable wifi optimisation

Hello forum! I'm having an annoying issue with my I9070: when I connect to my domestic wireless LAN the cellphone regularly accesses the Web and web-based apps work fine. But if I leave the phone inactive for, say, 10 minutes, it won't be able to access internet sources. The strange thing is that it still reports being connected to the LAN: to regain the connection I have to turn off the Wifi and turn it on again.
This is annoying because those apps that work in background can't actually access Internet and thus won't function regularly!
I've looked for solutions on the Net: I found that Android phones have troubles with WPA-PSK-protected wireless networks, such as mine; I found suggestions regarding the code *#001#* to access a debug screen where to turn off Wifi sleep mode (but for heaven's sake, I couldn't be able to find this goddamn option!); somebody suggested to switch to static IPs on the phone, to no avail.
If it can help, I have an unrooted phone with Gingerbread 2.3.6.
Try to go to Settings - Wi-fi - Advanced - Wifi always on > there check always.
I hope it helped

Yep, the setting was already checked.
I can't seem to understand if the problem is in the router or in my smartphone. Hope it's not an hardware issue.

Do you have some battery boost application installed or something else what could affect turning wireless off? If you have, try to uninstall it.

Only battery related app is Battery Widget from Elvison, and it's just a widget showing me the charge left. Don't think it could be the problem, it doesn't feature any battery saving or battery boost function.
I'm experiencing exactly the same problem, but I only have this using my home Wifi.
Looking for a solution also!
EDIT: Do you have this everywhere but also just at one specific place or router?
What brand is your router?

Sorry for the delay of my answer.
I noticed that this happens at my girlfriend's house too, and also her wireless network is protected via WPA-PSK.
My brand of router is Sitecom, while my girlfriend's is DLink.
I'm using a sitecom at home too.. Guess the problem is more in the router than on the phone.
I've already been through the routers setting but unable to find anything..

is there any way/tweak to get more speed from the existing wifi connection in galaxy s advance??
I've recently noticed that even when I've switched off my Wi-Fi, the battery meter shows (claims?) that Wi-Fi is still active. I haven't tested it enough to see what effect this has had on the battery life, but still I'd like to know if anyone else has noticed this oddity. Is it common or just my phone?
Screenshot attached. WiFi was initially on for the first 10 minutes or so, and then switched off. WiFi scanning is set to off as is use WiFi networks to determine location.
Anyone have any idea whats going on?

My Pure edition has the same issue. From what I can tell, it does turn off and is just a meter issue.
Same here. You need to reboot while WiFi off to solve it.

To avoid this from happening you can disable the WiFi while still connected to the WiFi network. Otherwise it's a visual glitch with the Lollipop graph.
You need to turn off scanning always available in Advanced WiFi settings. It's not a bug or graphical glitch of any kind.

Which choice? I don't think we have options here.

I noticed that after disabling/turning off Wifi, it still stays on and consumes battery, although Wifi icon shows switched off in notification and settings section. Restarting phone helps and WiFi finally switches off, however I do not want to restart phone every time when I want to switch off WiFi.
Does anyone have this problem and how ro resolve it?
My phone is in latest version on android 5.1.1 and on previous version I did not have such problems.
A factory reset might help

Thanks, but I would rather keep factory reset as a final option.
Any other suggestions?

Maybe wifi is configured to search for networks even if "turned off". Changing that might help

Sorry for silly question, how to configure WiFi to stop searching for network if it's turned off?
Thanks.
Go to settings - wifi - 3dot menu advanced.

Hi anyone have experience with connecting the n8 to this camera? Using the sony memories software it tries to connect but disconnects immediately. Any ideas folks.
I have an A5000 but i believe the method should be same.
When using wifi transfer i set it to wifi direct rather than through a router/access point (never had any success with using wifi router), when connecting directly to the camera the phone will complain about no internet access, make sure you pull the drop down and select stay connected anyways (otherwise the note may drop the connection so i can reconnect to your router that does have internet connection)
Found the solution I had to disable mobile data. Only found this out this by checking whether it worked on my tab s3 and it did so was a matter of deduction. Thx
