VZW Backup Assistant + problem

I just got a warranty replacement bionic. My prior phone Some how got the backup assistant plus installed. I never installed out. Out was just there one day. Anyhow, my new phone shows this app as incompatible on the play market. Has anyone seen this? Does anyone have the assistant plus apk? Ideas?
VZW tech support basically told me they had no idea what was going on and that the app is supposed to be compatible with the bionic. Waiting for level 3 reply.
Thanks for any help.

I personally never use back-up assistant, since google backs up all your contacts automatically. I've had nothing but problems with back-up assistant.
Backup assistant PLUS does photos, documents, and music as well as contacts. It worked very well for me, but note I can't recover...

some apps not compatible

For example I had bought Swype Tablet keyboard and it installed perfectly fine on Samsung Galaxy tab 7+, While on nexus 7 it is showing it is not compatible. This happens with many applications. When Both are 7" tablets, why the difference?
I'm SwiftKey Flowing right now. What ROM are you using?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
For awhile there after Swiftkey 4 was released it was listed as incompatible with the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. It has since been fixed though..
I can't speak about Swiftkey but the real reason is that some apps are compatible with the latest firmware (4.2.2 as of this post) that the Nexus has while others lag behind.
Thus, those apps support the older firmware (in this case the version on your Galaxy Tab) but haven't been updated to work on the newest firmware.
I had a number of apps that ran on my Samsung Galaxy S3 that were incompatible. I used TB on the S3 to send latest backup to gmail then used TB on the Nexus to import it. The main one for me was OS Atlas Premium app, I just had to get it working on the 7" screen. The whole of the UK for the price of about £1.80.
I had this issue with a bunch of apps....as of right now, for some apps that I have on my Galaxy S3, if I search for those apps on my Nexus 7 and it says they're incompatible, what I do is.....on my phone I use the app manager built in to ES File Explorer, make a backup of the installed app, upload it to Box, then on my Nexus I open Box, and install said apps right from within the Box app! It's worked every time so far for me! Right now on my Nexus I have Citibank, Capital One, Auto Parts Warehouse, and some others that all claimed were "incompatible", but they're working just fine....no force closes or anything!

You can move from device to device with an app like wifi explorer. That'll save you needing to go through a cloud service. Personally I use Titanium Backup Pro since the backup can be set to include the app's data also.

Not sure how up to date it is, but isn't there a list of incompatible apps in the themes/apps thread?

There is, but it's either in the General or Q&A (haven't read it for a while). Should be easy to find. Not sure if there's one in themes/apps.

I'm not rooted...yet lol. but nova and tapa are working okay. ..not sure why root would cause that though.
What root method did you use if you don't mind?

I'm curious to know what model SM-900W8 is. Thought "T" is tmobile and "A" is at&t.

Well seems it's titanium backups with data restore causing the problem. If I uninstall the entire app and reinstall without data restore everything is fine. Guess data restore on titanium is a no go

What root method? Are you using T-Mobile Note 3?

I used the cf auto root for SM-N900W8 Canadian note 3

He's on a Canadian variant like me. Turilo.you on rogers as well? I think I saw somewhere the bell init has a diff model number...which is odd.

Yep, not sure if it's titanium doing itself or just the note 3. I think it's titanium personally. Maybe I'll see if the dev can look into the matter. Sucks redoing all my nova settings etc :/

Fix for Titanium Backup restoring with data.

I am new to android with the Galaxy Note 3 on AT&T and this prevention information notification started popping up yesterday.
I am not using a rooted device (yet) and all apps have been downloaded from the Play Store.
Any advice to figure out what the offending app is or how to get rid of the notification would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!!

Maybe this (below) will help: (I pulled this from the Q&A section of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474422)
I am getting a "Prevention Information" popup after running a root app, how do I disable it?
From terminal emulator or adb shell as root, run; pm disable com.sec.knox.seandroid
Or freeze the Knox apps with Titanium Backup.

There have been a number of reports of this error occurring within the past day or so (google search reveals a number of people with this issue) for people with only stock apps and apps from the Play store on unrooted devices...
Samsung's documentation for knox describes a notification called "Prevention Information", which would have a shortcut to the app manager to remove the offending app, but that guide is for a system where knox is in use with a knox container, though....
What happens if you click OK instead of Cancel...? Anything? I wonder if that will get you to the app manager that the samsung documentation mentions.

This requires root - this this is occurring on unrooted phone, running only apps from play store.
I got the error once, but I was rooted and doing something that I'm sure looked sketchy to Knox, so I don't think that one was inappropriate.
Rooting my phone and applying a custom rom has fixed all my issues getting rid of all that Knox crap. So problem solved for me anyway

Thanks DrAzzy,
So if I click Ok it brings up a list of all my apps but it doesn't show (or even hint) at which is the offending app.
What I have done so far is:
Factory Reset my phone
Went to google play and reinstalled all my downloaded apps
within an hour the notification came back
factory reset my phone
started installing 1 by 1 apps
I haven't recieved the notification as of yet .....
RE: Knox
As far as I can tell Knox is not on my phone. I know Samsung was hyping up knox in their Note3 keynote but I cant find it ... It must be something running in the background.
Knox is under Settings>General>Security>Device Administrators. But mine is unchecked and still got same message. btw, running stock
So I reset to default and then started reinstalling apps one by one.
The offending app turned out to be Angry Birds Star Wars 2 Free yea i know its angry birds but uninstalled that and the prevention information has not returned since.
Started to do this on my device also as of earlier today. Not rooted and all programs were downloaded from Playstore. Knox is not even checked under security administrators.
A temp fix for you guys.

I have this problem on an unrooted galaxy note 3 and I do have angry birds starwars 2 installed. I checked the permissions in addon detector and angry birds starwars 2 requests access to camera. Suspicious or what!
UNINSTALLED!

just to confirm it isn't angry birds star wars 2. When I reconnected to wifi, the message came back. Oh well...

Running low on app space??

I have installed a few different Roms over the last few days after finally unlocking my HTC One.
I have had a few times had a pop up saying I have very limited space left to install apps. i don't seem to have many apps installed compared to what I used to install on my galaxy Nexus. What is causing this and how can I overcome it to install the apps I need ?
Thanks
Have you tried uninstalling bloatware from the roms you use, basically install titanium backup from playstore and remove apps you dont use, hence freeing up space, you must be rooted.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 now Free
I haven't done that yet,I have titanium backup already installed so I will attempt that.
I've come from a iPhone 5 and no matter how many apps I had I never had this problem.
Am I right in thinking that android works differently and only gives us limited space to install apps?
On my galaxy nexus I could use apps2sd but don't seem able to on this one.
Thanks

Is it better to setup your device as a new device or allow Google to restore apps

So my question to all you flashers, What in your opinion is better. To allow Google to restore your apps or set up your device as a new device? Thank you for response.
I've always restored from titanium backup. Ever since my Droid X.
