Hey everyone,
I need help soon as possible.
I have a Xperia Z1 C6903 with android 5.1.1 and my firmware is 14.6.A.9.368 and I want to downgrade to 4.4 (KitKat) because Android 5.1.1 is stealing a lot of battery and is slower than 4.4, so I want to get back to it.
MY PHONE IS ROOTED.
I saw a lot of threads about this, but I still don't know much..
I have flashtool, I just need a download link for a firmware of 4.4 (KitKat) that is compatible with my phone and will run without problems.
(I dont know if this is important but my SI is 1276-1925.8 EL,EN) <- Don't know what is this..
I'm from Portugal, so I'm sure I need a firmware of Portugal version I dont know.. I think I have an Unlocked phone.
Waiting for help.. Thanks!
Wrong board - this should have been under XPERIA Z1 Q&A, HELP & TROUBLESHOOTING
No, you don't need to unlock your phone's bootloader to use Flashtool and flash a stock 4.4.4
You can check the FTF download links posted in our community boards. Technically speaking it's OK to use another regions FTF on your phone, i.e. Philippine phone (like mine) using Singapore ROM is just as the same as Philippine phone using Philippine ROM.
I recently downgraded to 4.4.4 from a spanish mod'er.
Was also just sick of LL's battery life... and suddenly I can forget about charging etc. Finally lasts for about two days again...

Lollipop is faster and much better overall
Kitkat just fur battery life on 3g and app compatibility
I find if i disable location the battery last longer

To upgrade to a newer version of Android (and enjoy Material Design), you must flash a custom ROM. Head to the Android Development section and flash a ROM that works with a locked bootloader. If you unlocked your device's bootloader, you can enjoy CM/AOSP-based ROMs. Read the OP of the thread or read THIS for instructions on how to flash. Ensure you have a saved backup somewhere and your device's battery is >50%.
Marshmallow on the Xperia Z1/s is not stable; from what I see, it'll never be.

So if I find a ROM that works with a locked bootloader, I wouldn't have to bother about the difference in Xperia Z1's model?
