Hey guys,
I had whats seems to be a hardware bug on my nexus and amazon is going to give me a 1-to-1 exchange for free but i want to know how to restore everything back to stock att. I have unfortunally (now) deleted the OEM partition and want to know how to get everything back to the way it would be out of the att store. If the OEM was the only difference from the factory image, i can copy the files from the new nexus when it gets here .
EDIT: Sorry for the stupid title. ATT shouldnt be there twice

I thought that those Htc Dev phones were aready hardware unlocked?
Well, I sorta installed the RC27 in order to install cyanogenmod....But this not the point!I have lots of important content that I can't afford to lose!So I'm looking for a way to restore my phone back to normal!

Doesnt google sync your contacts/email/etc, can you get into bootloader or fastboot
Yes ADP's are factory rooted, so downgrading to RC27 was a little pointless.
Anywho your phone's dead. Your "important content" is gone, that's the risk you take when you flash your device.
Move along children, nothing to see here.
Well then, thanks for you fast replies, but I have one last question. Is there any way to restore it by modifying the hardware?Replacing something etc.?

Check craigslist for any HTC Dream, and swap the motherboard and other necessary guts with yours. You can usually find G1's for around $25 with a cracked screen. Which you don't need the screen, so that doesn't matter.
Yeah motherboard replacement doesn't look too tricky. Search for the thread on how to recovery from a brick in the development section, it has a step by step guide with pictures.

That's not really going to help him recover the data on his flash though.
if you have nandroid backups, your data will still be recoverable. if not, your out of luck
Did you got your phone working ??
I recieved my nexus 6 today and couldn't wait to power it up. To my dismay I find that my phone is not set up for "consumer use!" My question is could I root it and flash a different ROM on it or do I have to return it to motorola and wait for them to send me another. I'd hate to have to wait for them to ship me a new phone?

Wth . that's up to you . You may want to call them , I think I would .
But you don't have to root . just unlock you Bootloader ( Fastboot OEM unlock ) then flash the stock IMG from google https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images go into recovery do a factory reset then restart ... After it boots go back to Bootloader and relock ( Fastboot oem lock) or leave it unlocked . then your done . a
This is pretty much why the AT&T stores had that recall from Motorola.

Thank you! That's exactly what I needed:good:

How would I go about getting a dump? I can do that while I wait for the files to dl
Yes, please hold off on flashing. You essentially got a unicorn Nexus and many people would like to experiment with what you have.
Edit: Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...talled-rom-t2937029/post56781001#post56781001
Make sure you copy and paste and don't type those commands manually.
I'd contact a dev in here like simms22 before you try it though. He'd probably be very interested.
Thanks I'll get the files shortly
I appreciate the willingness. I do want to emphasize that you should contact a dev first so he can explain it better. That dd linux command can be dangerous if done improperly. I'd love to see a successful dump of your rom, but not without ensuring that any risks are taken care of. I don't have a 6 yet, so I can't test it first.

Please let a dev play with this phone. Dum dum's like myself could really use that filesystem right now. I wiped half my partition layout out and am without sensors or anything.

I want to see it too but don't get how this would help you any more than the current stock images do.

It could get dalvik back on the phone so people could use xposed framework etc
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
first, as other have said PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get a system dump before you do anything.
Second, an ATT rep who seemed to know a bit more than the average rep told me that if this happens the phone probably wont ever work as intended because there are also issues with the modem portion and it wont get proper service or data. It is possible that you may be able to reflash the radio and maybe get that part fixed, but personally once you get the system dump for all of us to work with it would be best if you got an RMA so you started with a proper device

Nah, I get that. He was saying it would help him fix his partition layout and I didn't see how it would help more than the factory usage but I didn't know the factory image leaves out partitions like /OEM.
just curious if you got a system dump of this before trying to flash 5.0??
was a back up able to be made of this would be fun to install on my nexus 6 or maybe use with multirom for fun.

I have the same Idea, and MultiROM is already on Google Play Supporting NEXUS6 since April 6th, so, where we can have the 444 ROM Dump to install it?
I have looked everywhere but I cant find an exact answer so I am posting it here. I am sorry if there is a thread somewhere but I can not find it. I have a Nexus 6 that I bought from google. I have t-mobile as my carrier and just bought a house that for whatever reason when you are inside it is a cell phone dead zone for everyone but AT&T. Am I able to flash the tmobile factory image that includes the wifi calling or is there more to it then that or am I just screwed and have to sell it and buy one form tmobile?
Thanks

OK thank you do I just flash the LYZ28E factory image or do I have to flash other stuff to go along with it?
flash the whole factory image. and.. talk to tmobile about getting a free phone signal extender(or whatever its called) for your home. if you have no signal, tmo let's customers use them free.

If you flash the image, in its entirety, it includes everything. Also, don't use the flash-all script. Doesn't work. Unzip the factory image completely, you'll end up with the bootloader, radio, system, boot, recovery and cache images. Flash individually with fastboot. There is a guide in the sticky roll up thread in the general forum.

I will do that thank you so much for your help!
Can't figure out how to disable it asking for the PIN at initial boot.. I'm returning to Tmobile(JUMP).. I'm assuming they'll have a problem with this. I miss good 'ol odin , just flash stock. Any info or help to get it back to stock would be appreciated, it's been well over a year since I've rooted/unlocked and I'm going to start restoring tonight.
Odin?!?! With Nexus devices you can use fastboot which is much more powerful than Odin.
Here are factory images for Nexus devices and on the page are included instructions on how to return to stock.
its a google security feature. even if you factory reset 10 times, itll still ask for your pin. just enter it, then you can change it. or did you steal the phone? btw, thats why its there, so no one can steal your phone, factory reset it, then use it.
Thanks for the input.. didn't know it was a google feature, was thinking it was something with the rom I installed since it started around that time(cataclysm). Anyway.. I got it figured out.. downloaded stock image and ran the flashalll.bat .. sheesh that was easy.

the only issue others could have is flash-all not working. to get around that, you just flash each part separately.
So I have finally replaced my beloved shamu with a Oneplus 6 t today, I am going to send the Nexus back to Tmobile per the 50% discount deal. My questions is I am going to wipe the phone so no data or anything is on before I send it back and do a factory reset, but I have done so many wipes and rom on the is phone I am not positive the factory image is still on the phone..where should I look to confirm that it is? I have TWRP Installed. Do I first need to download a stock image?
I suppose I could wipe everything and send it back with the rom installed ( AICP) I just want to make sure there is zero data on the phone beefore sending to tmobile. This is all new to me I have never sent one back before. Thanks for any help!

You're welcome ?
Now, I don't know how paranoid you are about your data. But if you have run your phone unencrypted, it may be possible to extract something even after an ordinary wipe.
Files are gone, but depending on how things work, the data sectors may still be there, and if so, parts can be restored with an undelete process.
I wouldn't worry if you've only had ordinary data on the phone, but if you had spy-level stuff, I suggest overwriting all sectors.
