Hello people.
I have been working for hours for this, based (probably) on my critical mistake.
My HTC 510 is a Telus (Canada) carrier version and the stock rom is slow. I flashed nonsense1.03 rom from this forum and it runs great. However when I proceed to unlock my cellphone from the current carrier Telus there's a great problem: The phone simply won't let me type in the 8 digit unlock code for SIM, at all. I try to flash stock rom back but the only thing I can do is to unlock the bootloader and flashing ends up with signature failure.
When I put in unauthotrized SIM card the phone did show up icon saying that the sim card is locked. But it won't let me type unlock code and there's no entry in this phone I could access the unlock pad. Any possible way to type in this unlock SIM code and end this nightmare?
Thank you all!

Hi, I have bought an I9000 from France locked to Orange and was given the unlock code from the Orange. I unlocked the phone with my simcard and it unlocked. I tried to use another sim but it requests the unlock code and the one I have is not working. When I type *#7465625# with now sim in the phone everything is OFF Network Lock etc. I have also flashed a stock android 2.3.1 and debranded the phone.
It still works with my sim.
Is it possible to use with another sim or do I have to get another unlock code?
Thanks
Are you referring to SIM Unlock code or Network Unlock code?
SIM unlock code is independant to the SIM while on the other hand Network Unlock code is independant on the phone itself. It is based on IMEI of the device.
Yes the other sim had sim lock code and i did not know, that was the problem. Thanks.
You don't have to say thanks. Just hit the Thanks button if it helped.
I'm from the US and am in New Zealand for a month. I own an HTC One which I purchased from AT&T and have been using on their network in the States. I've unlocked the phone, and also have S-Off. I've purchased a prepaid SIM card from Vodaphone in New Zealand. When I insert the SIM card, the phone asks me for the 8 digit SIM unlock code, so I entered the 8 digit PUK code provided by Vodaphone with the SIM. The phone tells me this code is invalid. I'm not quite sure why this isn't working - is it possible I need to load a different firmware to use the phone in New Zealand?
Kernel is 3.4.10-g31f7883
Firmware looks like 3.62.401.1
I'm currently using ViperOne ROM.
Certainly appreciate any input on this issue.
Thanks,
Josh
Well, I did not realize that bootloader unlock and SIM unlock are two different things. That's a bit confusing. Wish I had figured that out prior to flying here.

If I remember correctly (this is all from memory), for the unlock code to work, you need
1) correct (original) CID and MID
2) stock ROM (some were able to do it on custom ROMs, but not sure if all work or only certain ones)
3) stock firmware for above ROM
4) stock recovery
5) LOCKED or RELOCKED bootloader
6) S-Off won't matter, and that will be your ticket to unlock again
you can search the forum here for SIM UNLOCK, there are quite a few similar cases, which got solved by a combination of points 1 through 5.
If anyone stumbles onto this thread in the future...
Turns out I needed a code from AT&T, as I needed to carrier unlock the phone before being able to use the Vodaphone SIM. I tried contacting AT&T to get the code, but they won't give it to you unless you are out of contract.
I was able to get an unlock code using option 5 in this thread:

I loaded a stock ROM, but left the bootloader and my custom recovery on there, and the unlock code worked just fine.
Hi, a few months ago, my update stuck and after some guy put me another software, now i have problem with SIM network unlock code. I tried everything, my phone is rooteh, and S-off, but i have no idea how to remove SIM network unlock code. Can anyone help me, please ?
Hi all;
got my sim unlock code for the nexus 6. when i put in a non carrier sim and boot back up no menu comes up for me to enter the unlock code, just says no service, if i put the original carrier sim back in it works fine..any way to manually invoke the unlock code menu so i can enter it or any other tips..thanks in advance
I can't help with this but it may help others to say what carrier you're locked to..
Sorry..iT's locked to rogers in canada
Since the phone was already used on Rogers, perform a factory wipe to use a new carrier's SIM
My Rogers Nexus 6 came unlocked out of the box. I expect yours is as well. I have never heard of a locked Nexus device sold by a Canadian carrier.
Weird
..just says selected network (telus) what im trying to connect it to is unavailable. Factory reset at this point too
Hey guys,
I have an AT&T M7 that is off contract and obtained an unlock code directly from AT&T.
Now, how do I go and SIM unlock my device?
Any help/suggestion is much appreciated.
Thanks

If you already have your unlock code thats a good thing. Now to use it, you must shut your phone down, insert a foreign sim card (from a different carrier than AT&T, borrow a friend's sim card if necessary), boot it up and you should get prompted to enter the sim unlock code. Once done your phone is sim-unlocked and will accept any carrier sim card. Your phone must be running the stock rom btw (or a stock-ish rom, will not work on Cyanogenmod for example but should work on ARHD).
