Stock non rooted M8 non-HK with lollipop 5.0.1
My other M8 non-hk rooted with bad boys works perfect...
Ever since I updated to L I can no longer play movies I downloaded from google play movies. I can stream them just fine but I get "There was a problem while playing [-110]" Youtube is fine and I can play saved mp4 from storage.
Any ideas???
what i have tried-
Clear cache (app and recovery)
restart
disable Nuplayer
use RUU is reinstall latest update
Uninstall google play movies updates

Yesterday morning, I converted my HTC One Dev Edition to the Google Play Edition, 4.2.2, using the full-conversion RUU. I followed the same guide that many others have used that is supposed to be a "full conversion" with OTA updates. The phone came unlocked, I added S-OFF and Root before conversion using guides here on xda. Everything went fine.
The phone was behaving fine; I was able to install apps from the phone and the Google Play website. However:
About 36 hours later:
- I have not received the 4.3 OTA update, despite many attempts and restarts, and the frameworks hack that some people are using. Every time i check for updates, it only instantly updates the "last checked." The frameworks hack, btw, did not mess up my connection to the Play Store.
- The Google Play website now says "*you don't have any devices", although I can still install apps from the Play store on the phone, and those purchases are reflected in my Google account history.
- Titanium Backup is showing that it does not have Root, although I was able to use apps like Root Explorer to browse the filesystem as root.
I have tried restarting, manually upgrading the Play store to version 4.3.10, removing and re-adding my Google account, stopping/disabling/clearing the Play Store app's data, etc. Nothing has changed.
Any ideas?
The ota is a staged rollout. You'll get it when you get it. And just because you were rooted prior to the conversion does not mean you are anymore. You will need to re-root. As far as the play store, I have no idea.

I've just restored my phone's stock rom Kit-Kat 4.4.2 (Thank God!!!) and everything seemed to be just fine, appart from a little detail... I can't play any videos with any player. They all crash! Some play for a bit, some don't even open.
I used MX Player before i had to restore my rom and it worked just fine in Kit-Kat 4.4.2, but now it crashes continuously.
Is this a known bug? Is there anything i can try to fix this, at all?
Format your memory card and again load your song... Because when you re-stored your phone then all application should restored.. and all file crashed. so again installed your mx player..
Whenever I try and update or install apps on the new play store it crashes. When I uninstall the update it updates it back to 5.3.6. Anyone else having this issue?

Yeah, having the same problem with my HTC Evo 3D (Android 4.0.4). Updated from Play Store 5.2.x to 5.3.6 and have just the same issue. Tried uninstalling 5.3.6, tried 5.3.5, tried old 5.2.x from before - even there is the same problem now. I also uninstalled Play Services and tried different versions and deleted and readded my Google account from settings. Nothing helped at the moment.
OP - Install update, then go to apps and clear cache and data, then open the store and try ...
I got the very phone from china and the main problem is that the play store and its services doesn't work.
I tried installing .apk files (play store, play services) from other sources and even tried flashing gapps but neither worked (ie the device is rooted via kingo root) .
How do i fix this? Please help!
Good morning I have an Honor Play and when I get in to the play store to install Instagram it says that my device isn't compatible with that version. How can that be possible? I have tried installing it from apkmirror and it doesn't allow me to install it either . What can I do? Thanks for your help.
Instagram is working fine on my phone.

Working fine on mine too.
Try restarting the phone.
The day I bought the phone, and downloaded PUBG, its downloading went into loop, it completed and then started again and again. I cancelled the download and next day, when I tried to install it, it installed normally. I think this is a bug may be in play store or something else.
