Hey all, I flashed the factory image last night and rooted again. Restores apps from TiBu and noticed some widgets are missing.
I uninstalled the apps and reinstalled them from the market and they are still missing.
I'm wondering if anyone else is going through a similar issue or if I had a bad factory image.
Apps/widget:
-TV Show Favs
-Any.do
Would someone please download any.do and see if the widget is even available? They don't even show up as an option for me....
I saw a thread yesterday where people were saying that some widgets disappeared but then after the phone sat for a few hours they magically came back.

Yep, exactly right. Either it took a half-dozen reboots, or crossing midnight, or some initial process after a rebuild that takes a long time. Not sure what, but after 6 hours or so, all the widgets that were missing from the list suddenly appeared for me.
Well I wanted to help you out sooner but I had to wait for the moon to get in the right phase before spinning a chicken over my head.
Glad you got it worked out.

I had the same issue. Some widgets I couldn't get back no matter what I did yesterday. Woke up this morning and they were magically on my homescreen as if they had never been missing.

I'll try to keep this brief. Earlier tonight I downloaded the Nova Launcher on the google play store. It worked fine, I set it up how I wanted, etc etc. Well I went to looking for an app to replace the circles app on stock ICS. I found an app called "Fancy Widgets" and downloaded it. Practically as soon as it finished downloading my phone rebooted. I thought, maybe, it just needed to reboot for the app to take effect. I had to do that with a previous phone.
But no, Now my phone is just in a constant loop of boot and load to the home screen, wait 10-20 seconds and reboot. It just keeps going through this over and over so basically my phone is useless at the moment.
Does anyone know how to help this? I'm lost. If I can't get it figured out I'm going to have to stay up all night trying to figure it out because my phone is my alarm clock and I'll oversleep otherwise. So.. Please help!! Thanks!

Already tried power and volume down button (6 sec)?
Good news is the att sound works as a good alarm. I found out when mine did that. Restart in safe mode by holding down power and volume rocker then do a factory reset.

funny, I've had nova launcher working with fancy widgets when i updated my phone and it went into a reboot loop. it only happened to me when i updated the phone though
My first Atrix HD rebooted itself daily, sometimes bootlooping and causing me a lot of grief. The phone was fine for the first two days. After that, it went haywire. I would run logcats to try to determine the causes of the bootloops. I always found an error with some random app. I'd uninstall it and the phone would be fine for awhile. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that a problem with the wifi radio was the underlying cause. If not, the wifi problem and reboots were co-morbid, so to speak, and related to the same problem. I was pretty sure the real problem had to do with faulty hardware. I exchanged the phone for another. I've had this one for three days now and it just rebooted itself about 15 minutes ago. That bugs me.
I like the phone, but I think there may be an unusually high number of defective units out there. That's based solely on anecdotal information, but I believe it to be true. If anyone has any additional theories or has an explanation for these reboots, that would be a great help to me.

Yeah, I wish someone knew what the problem was. After I posted this originally at the beginning of October, I deleted Fancy Widgets and didn't have any more problems with boot loop until this week. I blamed it on my two newest apps and un-installed them, but the problem is there somewhere and I randomly reboot after installing Nova back.
This really bothers me. I had just gotten used to how I had everything set up in Nova. The stock launcher is disappointing in comparison now that I've experienced something better.

Replying to myself, but yeah..
It now looks like my issue has something to do with DoubleTwist music player. Nova worked until I tried to put a DoubleTwist widget on my homescreen and it IMMEDIATELY went into boot loop.
Has anyone else had this happen? Mine did and there's a big gap in my battery usage. I'm singing l assuming this will get fixed when they post the factory images considering the N9 has had 4 updates so far.

Happened today while I was on youtube, so far only once. What do you mean of big gap in my battery usage? Did the battery % decreased after the reboot or are you referring to the battery usage graph? On mine the usage graph restarted but the battery % was a continuation..

Yes it did here's a screen shot I took. I had a brief one earlier but this one was worse.
Phone rebooted today when i received a video message in hangouts.
Mine now does this weird thing where it opens random apps to the setting menu that has the option to force stop, disable and uninstall and keeps flashing and switching between them. I haven't unlocked the BL yet or done anything to the phone, I think its a software bug and hopefully google will release an update soon.
Edit: the random weird thing described above was caused by Greenify so I uninstalled it.
I'm having a lot of random reboots... anyone still with the problem?

I've had a couple more, I called Google today and made a trouble ticket to see if they are pushing out an updated build for us. I awaiting their response, but I'm certain they will fix this with an update.
Well it looks i got a lemon, its rebooting every 2 minutes, anyone knows google contact info for RMA?
Mine just started doing this. It happend twice the other day and I thought I did something, but just now while I was surfing the net on my computer with my Nexus 6 right beside me it rebooted for no reason.
Mine hasn't done it since I posted last. My Nexus 9 had the same bug so maybe its an app causing the system reboot.
I was just sitting on the couch 20 minutes ago, with both my Note 4 and N6 sitting next to me. I wasn't using either, but almost in unison, they both randomly restarted.

It's the aliens!
i get them a few times daily as well. usually it happens much quicker if i disable mpdecision, and use the ondemand governor. if i dont change anything, then i might make it through the day without a reboot. oh, and 99% of all my reboots happen when im using the browser. and the odd thing is, no last_kmsg gets produced.
I had two reboots an hour after I activated the phone on T-Mobile for no apparent reason. Went into network settings and changed from Global to LTE and the reboots never happened again
I changed mine from Global to LTE a week ago once I activated it yet mine has rebooted at least 3 times. I did notice that the last time was after I used wireless charging. I'm wondering if maybe the heat caused it to reboot.
Also happening to me (32gb blue, Bell Mobility Canada) ...has anyone tried factory resetting the device?

I also just picked one up from Bell (32GB Blue) today and had a random reboot while the phone was sitting on my desk idle. This was moments after tons of updates from the Play store. I read in some threads that doing a factory reset didn't work for most.
I also got a 15MB system update, on stock build LRX21O. Hope this isn't caused by hardware!
Edit: Just sent a text using "Textra", 2 mins later a random reboot occurred...

So I just had another one immediately after opening and closing the Messenger App (I stopped using hangouts) ... funny enough, same thing happened yesterday right after I closed the messenger app ... going to go back to hangouts as default and disable the messenger app to see if that helps
Was hoping the 5.0.1 update would fix this problem, but I'm still getting random reboots and shut downs, at least once a day.
my reboots are cured. the ondemand governor is broken in stock, and aosp, and has been the cause of the reboots. as soon as the developer of lean kernel fixed the ondemand, no more reboots using lean kernel
I'm not sure if this is happening on other devices. My Moto X (2013) running 4.4.2 (I am on Republic Wireless) started doing something funny about a week ago. Randomly, I'll unlock my screen to see that any and all text within Google Now Launcher is blurred out. The only way I've been able to fix it is by resetting the device. Clearing cache doesn't work for me. I suppose I could try uninstalling and reinstalling, but I'm not sure if that would really fix an underlying problem if there is one. Does anyone have any ideas?
I had this happen to me one day in an app.. I think it was Reddit Is Fun or Fenix (Twitter). I don't think it happened when I was unlocking the screen, I was already in the app and using it. The screen may have timed out and I unlocked back to it with that app already open, but I distinctly remember the blocky letters on the entire screen, and I could still scroll and stuff. I think I might have pressed Home and my home screen icons had the labels like that too, so I just rebooted and it went away.
I do not use GEL, so I don't think it's related to that. It happened once, I rebooted my phone and it never came back.
I am on stock 4.4.4 XT1060.
A couple of days ago, sometime after the latest Google app update, every single Google Now card except for the Weather stopped showing up. I have signed out and signed back in, I have reset my Nexus 6, nothing has worked.
One time, it showed "Places nearby" for a minute, but at the next refresh, that card also disappeared.
What causes a problem like this, and how can it be fixed?
Do you have your location settings turned on?
Yes I do.
Well I'm not sure... Are you on a custom ROM?
Fully stock, just rooted.
I saw several of my cards earlier today. No idea what triggered their re-appearance.
But they're all gone except weather again.
I had this problem, I had to go into my google settings in my desktop browser. Somewhere in there there was a place to disable divices from your account, I disabled several and it started working again after a little bit of time.

Do you mean this page? https://security.google.com/settings/security/activity?pli=1
No, it was a place where I could deautorize devices.

I'm having trouble finding anything else like that...
I have had no luck with this problem...
I've noticed that I'm getting far fewer cards than normal the last few days. I get weather and "from around the web" and that's it.
I figured Google now has the sniffles.
^lol, sniffles
You think it's just a temporary glitch with the whole service, or what?
I think so, at least in my case. Agenda, local events, stocks, etc are back for me
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
well they're still not back for me :\
Another week without the cards.
Anybody have any more ideas I can try? This is getting ridiculous...
Sometimes, when my phone suffers a random reboot, my cards will be back at the very start. But the next refresh of Google Now removes them again. Any ideas on that?
Ok no, I've tested it out. ANY reboot of my phone will give me an initial refresh where all my cards are back like it used to be EXCEPT for Weather. Then the very next refresh removes them all and adds back Weather by itself.
Why?
i am getting all of my cards on my nexus 6 but i am not able to see all of them on my LG watch urbane. I can only see the weather card. that's it.
Anyone Android wear user can help me?
Did anyone ever figure this out? none of my cards are showing up. its annoying.
Hey guys, so I've had a bit of an weird issue recently, it started up randomly, I hadn't installed any new apps or anything.
I had rooted my phone and gotten TWRP stuck on it so used Wugfresh to flash it out. During this I fully reset the phone to the stock ROM. Even after this I had this issue. Check attached files for an example of what it looked like.
I thought, maybe it was an app that I had installed previously? So I booted to safe mode and waited a while, and sure enough, the issue persisted.
Today, the Stock 6.0 ROMs were released. So I thought, might as well flash it, my device is being RMA'd for another issue (top speaker loudly crackling when audio isn't being played). So I flashed the 6.0 Stock and left it lying on my laptop for a few minutes as I chatted with a friend on facebook. And sure enough, what's floating there at the bottom of the screen? An empty toast notification.
This is a completely fresh flash. This was on the first screen before I'd logged in or set it to restore my apps or anything. This is the screen where you hit the arrow before adding Wi-Fi and such.
What could this be?
TL;DR: I have constant toast notifications and they're there regardless of safe mode or clean flash. They even exist between major updates (5.1.1 > 6.0)
I have the same issue on my stock ubrooted nexus 5 running 5.1.1
It's driving me crazy! My nexus 6p can't come in the mail any faster!

I've sent in an RMA for my Nexus 6, hopefully I get it replaced. I'm going to use my brother's old iPhone in the meantime while I wait for a response from them, and then leave my replacement unopened and resell it on kijiji. I can't trust my N6 to last when after only around 8 months it's crapping out like this.
Having the same issues on my Nexus 5. Anybody found out?
UPDATE: I installed an Xposed module called Enhanced Toasts, it logs all the toast shown in the device. In my case the Sim Toolkit app showed these blank toasts, i recently changed my SIM.
