[Q] DNS issues since firmware upgraded - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I upgraded my firmware to the latest prior to loading the 5.0.2 roms. I tried the Rooted 5.0.2 and also my favorite, Bad Boyz 5.0.2 rom. In both cases after installing the rom I noticed that my WIFI would get DNS errors when trying to access websites or any wifi related sites. I have several other android and windows wifi devices on this router and none are experiencing the problems. When I turn the wifi off I can easily access sites again.
So then I decided to reload my previous rom from the twrp backup I created prior to loading any 5.0.2 roms and after the restore was complete I am still having the same DNS problems.
Now before I go further I need to decide if I RUU back to the previous firmware or is this a kernel problem? Does the kernel load with roms and twrp restores?

[Q] Phone rooted but stuck on bootloop

Hi, I tried searching for this here (I remember reading something about the bootloop problem) but can't seem to find the thread, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have successfully rooted my Z3c using this guide all the way to the very end, however I noticed that the wifi wasn't working. I figured it was simply because I hadn't flashed the 23.1.A.0.690 firmware yet, but once I did, my phone is stuck in a bootloop; the sony logo appears and the phone resets over and over. I'm still able to go into fastboot but my question is, how can I put a stop to the boot loop? should I flash the newest FW (D5803_23.1.A.1.28_Customized_US.ftf), go back to the one the phone was shipped with (D5803_23.1.A.0.726_Customized_US.ftf), or reflash the root exploit one (D5803_23.0.1.A.5.77_US.ftf)>
UPDATE: I flashed D5803_23.0.1.A.5.77_US.ftf and the phone booted up without a hitch and kept rooted.

Bootloops on Android devices can be caused by multiple factors. I suggest Flashing the .93 Kitkat firmware from there Root and if I am not mistaken there are flashable ( .zip) Pre-Rooted Roms which are Lollipop found in the Android Development Section of this Area.
Just make sure to flash the FW corresponding to your Model Number either D5803/833
If you prefer the harder way you can always use Flashtool to flash the Stock 4.4 FTF it came with and upgrade from there.

Yeah, what I did was reflash the .77 FW without wiping system, and then, from there I flashed this 5.02 image, however now I am encountering a different problem: a persisting notification stating that I need to update google play services, even when I'm using the 7.5.73 version for 036. Has any one else encountered this problem? Is there a solution to this?

You can always download GAPPS manually, and flash it via Recovery if you think the Google Play Services that comes with your FW is bugged

If i install the nexus 6 factory zip can i easily flash TWRP?

I am being plagued by wifi issues ever since i went to a new version of Purenexus. It seems to have something to do with going to 7.1.1
I've tried the older version of the rom that was working fine before, but i still seem to have wifi issues even in these older versions now.
i tried resurection remix, but still have the same issue.
after a while the wifi wont be connected and it says authentication problem, or sometimes shows it as simply discconected.
i can manually forget the network and re add it and it seems to work fine for a while.
Durring troubleshooting today, i have tried to resey my router, even upgraded the firmware,
anyways, i'd like to flash the factory image to test to see if i still have issues. but i want to make sure that if i install 7.1.1 factory image, or 7.0 that i can still re-flash twrp from adb or am i going to have to find a root exploit?
if i flash a factory image does it "relock" my bootloader? i guess that is the more important question
thanks.

There will be no locking of the bootloader unless you issue the command. No exploits needed. Just flash away...

GPS locks for Oreo Roms but will not follow when using navigation to go anywhere

Hi. I am at a loss on how to fix my GPS on my device. When using Lineage 7.1.2 I can use Google Maps without issue and use navigation to get me places. When I try and use ANY Oreo ROM I can get a GPS lock only on my current location however I can not use navigation; the device stays locked to the start point and will not follow me. When Oreo first came out I was able to upgrade to Oreo and use Maps without issue. I am somewhat a flashaholic and like trying different ROMS to see how they work day to day so I have flashed GZOP, Cardinal, Omni, Lineage 15. I have tried all different Firmware updates by Lord Boeffla trying 4.1.7 (Which I am currently using and Lineage 7.1.2 navigation works) 4.5.0 and 4.5.1 to try and rectify this but it does not matter. No matter what firmware I try and use the results are the same. Lock but will not follow At one point I even tried downgrading to Stock 3.5.4 firmware and software to which I was able to flash but the system would not boot only would bootloop. At this point I am not able to flash any stock OOS ROMS and I must use a custom built ROM such as Lineage to get the phone to boot. I have tried many GPS fix apps such as AGPS to try and force clear GPS cache and reset they system but the results are the same. Lock and no follow. Any ideas on what else can be tried to resolve this? I fear I may have damaged the device throuh flashing the firmware so many times and I will be stuck with Nougat forever with the current phone.
All Oreo ROM's are in Alpha/Beta build stages. I've experienced similar results on many Oreo ROMs. The best course of action you can take is providing logs to the developers of the consecutive ROM, and let them work.
Different firmware versions don't make any difference to the GPS. ROM's are built on top of the firmware, and such. Flashing different firmware's will not fix the issue. Go back to Nougat if you want a stable system.
The issue here is you're complaining about bugs on Alpha/Beta ROM's.
I have been facing the same problem in Nougat Roms too. I think it has been introduced in 4.1.7
The only course of action would be to get it fixed in Beta OOS by providing the logs to the devs.
Here's a related thread :

Had same issue, refresh latest beta firmware.
I've no issue using gmaps on ob 17 I use it daily.

me176cx rom issues

I am having issues with my me176cx. It is rooted and I need to update it. I cannot get any rom .191 and up I find to flash all fail. I assumed this was due to root so I unrooted with zenphone and loaded a clean rom .187 I believe. I still can't get any other rom .191 and up to flash though all I can find are OTA roms. Any help would be appreciated. This was an old lifeshield tablet with some form of custom Rom pre-loaded.

Update Firmware and Modem without removing LOS

I have a REVVLRY+ edition of the MG7+ that is now running LineageOS 17.1, with minor problems relating to Wifi, Mobile and GPS strength.
However, I did not upgrade to the latest version of the stock ROM prior to flashing LineageOS. My problems right now are my cellural receiption and WIFI are very weak, so I wanted to see if I can update the firmware and modem using a stock ROM (for REVVLRY+) without having to remove my LineageOS or install the full stock ROM.
Can I update just the firmware and modem with fastboot from the official firmware?
