If you think it has 5 apps in one and if you think you will have a feature just like a Garmin Fenix Watch, i think it's worth it On the other hand When we first get our hands on watches there is no app around and we felt horrible. Back in those days if i knew there is an app which will gain lot's of features just by paying 1.99USD while thinking a garmin fenix watch is around 500USD it is affordable :good:
Its nice and all but i'm afraid at 2$ only people who REALLY NEED IT will buy it - and those people won't own smartwatches most likely
For most of the public it's just not appealing. Id'e buy at 0.5$ just for the heck of it.
congrats!
if you reduce it to 1.5, i will buy it for sure.

Smart watches are in a state that currently no developer taking it serious, we are!. As we all know making a product cool and grow gets through apps, to do that you need to support developers so that they keep developing great apps.
Can you believe that there is no barometer app for LG G Watch R unless we develop one? I think this is not a random paid app, this is the only barometer app for lg g watch r on the store i think it needs some exclusiveness. Barometer is one of the reasons i bought this watch.
Yes this is a paid app, how can we keep developing unless we can't earn. How you will know about apps if there is no dedicated app store for smart watches? This kinda forums are only way! Even if the mods see this or not, i think they will want to support us.

Hi, Since Android Wear OS is new, there is more bugs than usual, what you have experienced is happens me all the time when installing apps.
What i try to get app on wear is, disconnecting and reconnecting the watch to phone, make sure that they are communicating, afterwards i go to android wear app, settings and at the down below there is "Sync apps", i click that and keep my finger crossed
If that's not helping, i try deleting and installing app again

Showing as £1.62 in the uk. Looks like a nice app but I think you have put it at the wrong price point. 50p is a "casual buy" and will get you loads more sales (and therefore more money) than £1.62. Its only showing as 100 downloads so you really want to get volume sales to get it showing as more popular.
Just my thoughts.

We will preparing for an update for our app ToolX, what would you like to see at the new update?

This actually disgusts me.
I won't lie, I'm pro-piracy, and don't mind sites that host apps for free download, but profiting off someone else's work is frankly, sickening.
They do have a contact page, why not let them know how much you appreciate your hard work being stolen?
Looks pretty shady anyway, I'd much rather use the Android Market.
I agree. Charging people do get software you stole is worse than stealing it in the first place IMO.

It's being hosted by hostedsolutions, their contact info is here:

I'm sure they'd like to know what's on their servers.
Wow that's ballsy.
They even link back to the xda forums for formatting and rooting info.
And Dev's they are taking paypal payments. File a complaint with Paypal too.
They used a privacy company to hide who they are.
And then they used Tucows address as their domain registration address?
The whois phone number rings to a looped recording telling you to go to the privacy companies website. Which does not seem to work.
To bad these A$$munchs didn't also make the stupid Android7 Flash Player. We could have killed 2 birds with one stone.
If the site ever starts 'offering' SetCPU, I will do whatever is in my legal power to take them down. I can't do anything about those Chinese or Russian websites, but if it's hosted in the USA, they're going down.

Piracy is piracy. Don't think somehow a for-free piracy distribution site is any more justified than a paid one. If anything, for-free distribution sites hurt developers more than paid sites: which one do you think attracts more pirates? (Note: Don't somehow come to the twisted conclusion that I support piracy of any kind; I don't.)
The difference between the two jashsu is that there is a large contingent of the "try before you buy" type of pirates out there. They'll get a warez version of an app, and if they like it, they'll often uninstall it and pay for the market version. However, if they pay for it through a third party website, the original developer never sees that profit.
Thats not to say I support piracy, because I dont. I fully believe that people should be compensated for hard work. I'm more than willing to pay for an app up front, and if it sucks, the dev will find out by reading the refund notice when i uninstall it within 24 hours.

Please show me some numbers. To get the ball rolling, i'll post a link.
http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2...-more-serious-than-first-though-on-iphone.ars
"The numbers that developers might find most interesting are the ones that show "conversion rates" from "lite" versions to full. Only one out of every 14 average users tends to purchase the paid version of an app after using the lite version, which is just under 7.5 percent. For pirates, the conversion rate is less than half a percent, or one out of every 233."
I download apps. If I like 'em, I pay for them. I'll usually go for a "lite" version if one exists. Anyway, rather than have this thread derailed into a debate about piracy, can we get back to the topic at hand?
I've notified the host, lets see if that does anything.
Sigh. Nothing like a little bit of piracy to set a forum on fire. Doesn't matter what forum you're visiting, could be a forum for food - and the first mention of piracy is bound to bring up what I like to call the forum nazis. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and no amount of gestapo trolling will change that. I find it interesting that people break various laws of various countries / cities / states daily and of course, it's overlooked. Someone makes mention of piracy and all of a sudden you've got the ePolice regime banging on your every post as if it were going to change something. What's my point? None, really. (But there again, there's also no point in bashing piracy, it's not going to make it any less existent.)

I mean.. maybe i'm the only one who finds that just a bit hypocritical? I would have been completely okay if he/she just said "hey dudes, theres a paid piracy site, lets get it shut down" or "I like piracy". But to go and say "I am a pirate, but these other pirates disgust me".. idk.. maybe it's just me, but that's just ridiculous.
Then again what do I know?
Also they spam the android market with there links so make sure if you see it report it as spam.
Doesn't anyone pay for their apps anymore ...
I'll admit it, I pirate apps too, but only to either try it or if I have no other way to even purchase the application.
The thing is, being a high-schooler, I have a cheap, prepaid credit card that only allows transactions in USD. Many apps aren't available in the Market in currency other than Euros or Pounds so I have no other choice to use the apps than to pirate them.
This kind of behavior where people are selling pirated copies instead of just making it available for people who otherwise can't even buy them is really annoying though... anybody thought of a way to get them shut down?
I'm honestly debating to pay for a membership and email every dev that has an app on their. The other known site I've already found 6 apps from me on their and they were removed. But since this place charges just to get a peak I'm very tempted to pay and make sure every company knows and can write C&D's to them and the host.
Piracy is always going to be an issue. Always. I have pirated apps before, usually to test out an app update I have already downloaded and refunded from the marketplace. If the update fixes things I had issues with, I will buy it. If not, then I delete it. I have bought and kept 21 apps from the marketplace so far. I believe my use of pirated apps is fair.
I am not trying to justify piracy, but merely stating it is a great tool for me. I am aware that a lot of people pirate apps just so they don't have to pay for them. I believe that is wrong. However when comparing those who distribute an app for free to those that charge for an app that is not theirs, I believe that the one who distributes for free is the lesser of the two evils. The one who distributes for free is going to reach out to more of the potential market yes, but the scumbags who actually charge for apps that someone worked hard on are the true thieves IMO. They affect a lesser share of the potential market, but keep in mind their "share" is willing to make a purchase in the first place, while the freeloaders "share" is questionable in that department.
Just my 2 cents.

That may be a role in it but I don't see it as a bad thing. It has its pro and cons:
Pros:
- Google sees this as a threat and significantly improves their app market. (Competition... something that AT&T / T-Mobile doesn't value -_-; incoming Market War? In the end it'll cause the two companies to improve their market/app store whatever you want to call it)
- 15 Minute Trial? Nawww.
Google's Android Market lets you return apps for a full refund within the first 15 minutes after you buy. Apple, by comparison, does not allow for trial periods on iOS devices. Amazon is taking a similar approach to Google by letting you test drive apps on your PC. "You control the app with your mouse and experience it like you would on your phone," Amazon's Test Drive Apps page reads. The feature lets you try the app within your browser before you decide to buy. This feature appears to be reserved for some of the more popular titles and may not be available for all apps.

^^ winner?
- Some apps are cheaper on Amazon App Store than the Market.
- Free Paid App of the Day (free paid apps? with permanent updates? huge winner -- at least i believe its permanent updates)
- Countries that don't have access to the Android Market are able to buy apps and get free apps.
Cons:
- Possible that more companies will start their own "App Store" and Android will be more spreaded out in terms of App Markets.
just some of the things on top of my head.
And the worst part is that it's unavailable in several countries.
I couldn't care less about Amazon, but I do want Angry Birds Rio.

Microsoft has already started appealing the term "app store" awhile back. So Amazon would be on Microsoft's side. And I would agree with Microsoft that the term "app store" is too generalized.
http://www.xconomy.com/seattle/2011...tore-a-trademark-that-microsoft-also-opposes/
The Seattle area’s two tech giants, Amazon.com and Microsoft, find themselves on the same side today—battling a trademark claim by Apple. As expected, Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) said Tuesday that it was indeed opening its new Appstore for Android, despite a recent federal lawsuit by Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) claiming trademark infringement of that company’s App Store brand.
Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) has been opposing Apple’s attempt to secure the App Store brand name for a while now, but in a different venue—an appeal with federal trademark regulators.

And since we're on Android... I'm going to go ahead and assume that we all want Amazon/Microsoft to win this lawsuit. Not being a fan boy or anything, but I hate Apple's guts when it comes to making lawsuits on patents/etc.
Besides, in most court cases.. even if they lose. So what? it would either end up in the following ways:
A) Amazon pays money to Apple and continues using 'App Store.'
B) Renames it to something else.
@AllGamer: You don't have to use Amazon App Store to make purchases. You could just simply use it to get 'Free Paid Apps of the Day'
But Amazon is pretty trustworthy. Huge successful corporations. I personally just did it to get Angry Birds Rio and gotta say... the graphics in Rio are much more superb than the original Angry Birds & Angry Birds Seasons.
In the end, the developer of the app/game is still getting paid. Thats what really matters.... isn't it?
For some reason it won't let me get Rio. It says I need to add a payment method to my one-click settings, which I checked and there is a payment method...

Frankly, these petitions are getting out of hand! Its supposed to be a powerful tool to gather the masses for things that really matter. Open source, more support, freedom, things that are important. LG or any other manufacturer for that matter won't reduce their prices just because someone who does not know half the things going behind pricing decisions, asks them to. Don't like the pricing, don't buy.
This needs to be stopped, or even the petitions which would have had an impact otherwise will start looking like someone throwing a tantrum.

Should I start a petition against toyota that my car costs a different amount than in other countries? How about any manufacturer of anything I start a petition against?
Everyone stop acting as company CEO's, your beloved item you want isn't the price you want, DONT BUY IT. You can even go ahead and hate the company, that's not how vusiness is conducted. Company choose prices and then consumers decide if they buy or not. And then, guess on who's wallet it is if they didn't choose the optimal price? I think, and I want to believe that this reaction from your part at all, and due to a misunderstanding of the fact. know that the problem is producing not only for Italy, but for all of Europe and probably even for the usa! LG has decided to sell its nexus € 4590 / $, then it is available to 350 € / $ on google playstore. but the real concern is that some countries are not entitled to google playstore, and even if this is not the fault of LG, were it even really penalizes countries that are in the story! ! In addition to that, how can sell LG mobile google, which declare his mobile trying to sell € 350 / $ because it is mobile prices too expensive! So yes, it is true that the petition is based are made for much more serious problem than the price of a smartphone, but at the same time, this is the only way that works for a multinational company has to understand that we sum does not agree with his political advantage against all odds!

As for the thread being locked / deleted, that's because these sort of petition threads don't do anything good for the forum and always turn into flamewars. You can see the same thing happening in the "petition for microsd card slot" thread below this one.

So yes, it is true that the petition is based are made for much more serious problem than the price of a smartphone, but at the same time, this is the only way that works for a multinational company has to understand that we sum does not agree with his political advantage against all odds!
under your username sense, I would like you to remember that we are civilized and free people to express these feelings WITHOUT SANSURE! so if you disagree with my point of view, which is your right after all, its not a reason to ask for a closing thread is NOT offensive to anyone, OR trigger hatred !

I do not want nothing to create a polemic, just that my intention is to collect a max of person who will want to join my cause. thank you kindly let live thread and will give him a chance.
I wan to start a petition to stop the useless petitions in this forum.
I was just doin a little reading up on the Chromecast, Plex, and other random news and info and came across this tidbit of info. For those of you that are familiar with "PlayOn," I was browsing their website and just happened to notice that they have officially listed on their site that Chromecast support will be coming to PlayOn very soon. Also, when looking through their support forums, I came across a thread that was started just a couple of days ago and "Chris" from the PlayOn staff confirmed to the opening poster that Chromecast support was in fact just right around the corner. I thought this sounded like great news for us, the Chromecast community.
Check their site out for yourself ---> PlayOn | Supported Devices Compatible with PlayOn | PlayOn
--Thread on PlayOn Forum
The site is down right now.
I wonder to what level of compatibility PlayOn will see on the Chromecast - my concern would be any additional latency that it brings in (but could be really good if they can get past that!)
The day PlayOn gets released for ChomeCast, I'll be warning people of doing business with this company.
MediaMall has had some very sinister marketing techniques in the past and this should be known.

I'll second that. I purchased a PlayOn lifetime license when it was a fairly new product and somehow that's parlayed in to them trying to get me to buy another "lifetime" license ever since when new features are added.
Here's a discussion where several others spell out the details.
edit:lol, they're still at it too.. they finally added HD and have a special offer for existing lifetime users to upgrade.
tl;dr - PlayOn sells you a "lifetime" license, renames the product when they add features then tries to sell you another "lifetime" license

Couldn't find the exact licensing terms, but sometimes a "lifetime" license does not include lifetime upgrades or updates - simply unlimited use of that particular version.
As long as the product you bought the license for remains available for use (ie, they don't disable it) then it's legal... Not nice, but still legal...

Oh, I'm not implying they didn't live up to their legal obligations.. only that they failed on the moral ones.

True. Releasing a new product is one thing, but doing a small change and renaming, that's not nice and it doesn't encourage others to buy your product - lifetime or otherwise - either.
I guess it could be worse - they could make it only apply to the lifetime of a specific device. Then few people would ever get lifetime.
At least TiVo let me transfer my lifetime subscription for the Series 3 (granted, the S3 at launch was near $800) - and they raised the lifetime rates but warned existing customers first... And when there's a new system update it doesn't invalidate my lifetime subscription.
A company like TiVo wouldn't get a way with that.
Actually, I didn't know about the HD thing, but I called it years ago. Even used the word HD.
People on their forums tell me I should drop it and stfu but I don't see a problem warning people about their devious marketing.

By the way you will ABSOLUTELY NEVER find a EULA on their site. I don't remember if you have to agree to one to install the software either
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Actually, a simple google search for PlayOn.tv eula returns the EULA page for PlayOn.
And the EULA is included in the MediaMall install folder.
I tend to think conspiracy is where you look for it. I purchased a lifetime license back in 2009 for 19.99 (before there was a PlayOn Premium) and it still works exactly as advertised.
I purchased a PlayOn Premium license in 2010. I chose not to upgrade by Basic license as I figured I would continue to use it on a 2nd PC (which I do). Each time an update is released with bug fixes, both installations are updated.
I have never found anything deceptive about their marketing at all. Sure, I would have liked to have gotten HD for free, but I also understand that development costs money. The HD add-on is completely optional. I chose to add HD to my PlayLater license so I could record in HD but haven't added HD for PlayOn yet. The add-on for PlayLater only cost me 3.99. I think the add-on model is the fairest from a consumer perspective. If I had a slow PC, and was a new customer I wouldn't want to pay for a feature that I can't use.
That all said, since I purchased my lifetime Premium license in 2010, dozens of new channels have been added along with some very cool features that haven't cost me a thing. Things like Roku and Mobile support, PlayTo and Record To, the PlayOn Browser extension (PlayMark and PlayCast), not to mention the huge improvements made to MyMedia (which is still completely free, by the way).
I did do some searching around and found this from when I first purchased my Basic license (this is from 2009):
"What you get for buying a License
Your license will be valid forever for all patches and bug fixes for the current major version of PlayOn. All functionality and feature enhancements to PlayOn will be free for existing licensed installations, unless a new major version is released, at which point a new license may be required to access newer functionality."
I get why some might be upset...Heck, I'd always rather get something free vs. paying for it...but deceptive and greedy? I don't think so.
There were devious marketing tactics..
This really doesn't matter. PlayOn has so many other shortcomings that it doesn't make the energy to type worth it.

I gave up on PlayOn ages ago. I supported PlayOn from very early on. I bought what I was informed was a one time fee. Well that one time fee turned into a yearly fee. And then it turned into "hey buy this extra stuff for even more". I foolishly paid for 3 years of that crap and all I really wanted to do at the time was stream media from my pc to my xbox 360. Wish I had been told or heard about Plex back then. One time fee and it's worked flawlessly the entire time I've used it. Would never give a damn dime to PlayOn ever again.
Edit: Just realized after reading other posts that I'm not the only one who was disgusted with the deceptive fees of PlayOn.

I spoke at length with an Skip, an employee at MediaMall.. Three general consensus from everyone there "they've done no wrong" and for some reason, the users believe it.
However, I can't value anyone's opinion that can stand commercials at twice the volume of the actual show. They are more for content than they are quality.

That basically says if you bought a license for the current Version 3.x.xx.xxxx the second V4.x.xx.xxxx comes out your LIFETIME license for PlayOn expires even if you live to see Version 5!
So it is deceptive to say your buying a LIFETIME LICENSE when really all your doing is buying a V3 license and as soon as they decide to change the Version number your License is no longer good!
Apparently it isn't YOUR LIFETIME they are talking about just the lifetime of their current Version which for everyone else is merely a License not a LIFETIME License!
It's like any software version numbering. Once a new update comes out, you are expected to pay.
They play on (no pun intended) words using the "Lifetime" and nobody seems to give a rats ass.
This is the same game played by politicians. Except, politicians play with our money and freedoms.
I'd bet that 70% of their customer base are Low-info voters.
To keep a company alive that practices this kind of moral bankruptcy is just retarded.
So goes the rest of people that don't seem to have any morals these days..

So my opinion isn't valid because I don't agree?
You write that "as soon as they decide to change the Version number your License is no longer good!", but that is simply not true. The Basic license I purchased back in 2009 still works exactly as it did when I purchased. No features or channels were removed and I still receive updates with bug fixes. I had an opportunity to upgrade my Basic license, but chose to keep it and use on another PC.
And since I purchased my PlayOn Premium license, many new features and channels have been added that have not cost me anything.
I just don't see any bad intent here.
Your opinion matters less only because you try and fight a losing battle.
The fact of the matter, it is not really lifetime if you are going to make people pay on the release of a new version.
Arguing semantics over morals is just another losing battle.

Your opinion isn't valid because LIFETIME should mean it NEVER EXPIRES for as LONG AS YOU LIVE!
The fact your license still works 6 years later is more a testament to their lack of development and adding enough features in ALL THAT TIME to require a new version number than it does their honesty in Marketing....
According to your definition EVERYTHING is a LIFETIME License...Including that license to run Windows 3.1 20 years after it was released!
It is dishonest marketing merely for the fact that they can make a version 4 tomorrow and you can't use it without paying for another LIFETIME!
Thats a License not a LIFETIME license...
I have a LIFETIME membership to Plex Pass....And guess what it will still work when Version 1000 comes out as it does for Version 0.9!
It will be valid for MY lifetime and truth is it will be valid long after I'm dead.
But oncePlayOn decide to change the version number to #4 your license is dead for the purposes of running their latest product!
Even more deceptive; PlayOn had special sale right before they released the new version.
I can't imagine anything more deceptive than that. A final push to get everyone on lifetime to give the devs a bonus for their hard work on the next version.
That's just downright mean.

We have developed an app in Chinese. But faced with the fact that, firstly, China has no Google Play, and, secondly, the promotion of the apps is rather complicated. Maybe someone has experience of entering Chinese market:
1) On which Android app stores do we need to publish our app?
2) Are there any app review sites in China?
3) How to promote apps through Chinese social networks?
4) Are there any companies that offer app promotion on Chinese app market as a service?
5) Does it make sense to enter Chinese market at all?
